imagine doing drugs with a provider and then complaining that the provider is on drugs.  

I remember seeing Milan Twink going from under ten reviews to over 100 in less than a year. That scared me off any further engagements.

I have seen a provider who when I went to tip him he said to me - keep the tip, pay for membership and leave me a review on RM. It would be more valuable to me. 
 
I wouldn't leave a bad review for someone, unless they were dangerous.  If someone has that many positive reviews it cant be faked- it means they are doing a good job and at the least, the photos are a true reflection of how they look. If you have over 100 people confirming it, I don't know what else you need!

Not necessarily a "red flag", but, as with a used motor vehicle, indicative of high mileage and wear and tear.

This guy has great reviews on here. I met up with him last year. I had a very good experience. I will see him again when I go back to Chicago.

Don't look for a problem if it doesn't exist.

There are so many strange parts to this story.   Why were YOU having issues staying awake?   
(At that time I was still 73% zonked, and although I had remained conscious throughout, he claimed that it was I who had gone completely under!)
I know you said you're not going to answer "random" question - but I thinks this is not random at all and goes to the heart of your post.
 

A few things don't add up in your story!
Did you not know his physical stats or see photos before you met him? Or did he post fake stats and pics?
Why were you so "zonked"? Had you done drugs with him before he passed out?
And, if so, why in the world would you do drugs after you'd met him, heard his tale of woe, and seen his "dark and messy" apartment?

My advice is - hire someone with plenty of reviews, someone who does NOT do PNP.
 
Secondly, give as much information about what it is you want. although providers are very experienced in the field, they are not mind readers - the more you tell them about what you want, what you don like - the better your experience will be!  I think this is even more vital in circumstances where you are wanting him to be aggressive with you - for eg. what do you mean by aggressive? do you want to be thrown around, slapped? hair pulled? spat on?  spanked? or just bossed around verbally - tell him what are you limits, as well as your desires. 
 
The more open and honest you are, the more likely you will get what you want.  I would be shocked if you are asking for something they haven't already heard!

I have picture on my whatsapp app, so rarely been asked to provide more. Nevertheless, would provide so if asked.

I'm wondering if others share unsolicited pictures and stats with their provider prior to meeting. I always do and I do it out of common courtesy, thinking it is only fair that if I know what the provider looks like along with their stats, then they should know what I look like and my stats.  
I have never had a provider ask for pictures/stats yet I always provide prior to meeting. 

I'm curious - what did your friend say about the provider?  how did your friend know you had an upcoming appointment with him?
 
I agree with all the above - 24 hours notice is fine, but it also may do well to send $50 Venmo cancelation fee or something to ease it over. he may have refused other bookings for you in that time slot.  from what I know of providers, they are not all seeing multiple clients every day.

They do! 😃 feel free to recommend any providers based in NYC that have a fee less than 300.   
FYI Nicholas is a great provider and his rate is reasonable. 

I have seen him on grindr mentioning that he was looking for asians in particular which makes me think that is his preference.

my advice was sincere - good luck finding a provider based in NYC who has a rate lower than 300.   If 300 is out of your budget, you will have to find other hobbies.  Where is the lie or arrogance there?
I'd do a lot more things before I would take advice from someone like YOU who posts photos of discreet providers faces on the forums outing them like you do.
