  1. I think it's possible some of you might be misinterpreting his demeanor. He's not a super animated guy in general and I can see that coming off to some as aloof. If you're looking for golden retriever energy, he's not your guy. If you're expecting more of a deli experience, you're not likely to get it. And I understand that was more likely in the past, but for whatever reason there seems to have been a downshift in that aspect, which is his prerogative. He's not charging out of line with what he delivers. But again, if you're looking for warm and fuzzy, he's probably not your guy.
  2. You can already do that anyway as long as it's medically necessary. There are multiple loopholes to avoid the 10% penalty. I was able to do that to pay for an aide for my sister while we figured out what nursing home to put her in.
  3. It still burns my britches that you can't see a double feature for a quarter or get a Pepsi for a nickel, either, dadgumit!
  4. I've seen Mark's social media he's kind of a hot mess with addiction issues. Hope he's not just using the boy for money.
  5. The reality is in the mid 20th cenrury, in many communities the schools were sort of a back door public health/welfare syatem. They made kids shower because it wasn't always the case they did so at home. I don't think it was about spying on kids, it was about making sure they had basic hygiene.
  6. I think it all goes back to my theory that men are like ducklings and imprint on what they jerked off to at 14. Some expand their tastes. But most don't.
  7. I have the experience of being middle aged and having been young but only moderately attractive so I know the vapidness(vapidity?) of twinks amd twunks is a timeless phenomenon and not some recent development. And it's not unique to gay people either.
  8. The older men complaining now are more than likely guilty of the same offense when they were younger. Because if they had been less attractive they'd have been gettimg ignored all along and this wouldn't be such a surprise to them now. "A lot of men are visually stimulated, ageist, and shallow! And water is wet, news at 11."
  9. I think the view of same-sex activity was simply different in the past. They knew sometimes stuff happened but prior to AIDS and the explosion of STDs, the line between what was considered horseplay or "taking advantage" versus assault was in a different place because the known physical consequences were lesser. And they'd rather the boys get their rocks off together occasuonally than deal with a teen pregnancy. So many older gay guys told me that just about ALL the boys they grew up with messed around a little with each other(even if it was just jerking off together or in front of each other), just never talked about it. But the straight guys my age I know well enough to talk openly with insist nothing ever happened when they were growing up and I believe them.
  10. The things that shorten your life trend do do so in unpleasant ways...lung cancer/emphysema, for example, is just an ugly way to go
  11. On top of the personal safety issue, it could also be to make sure you aren't someone they know from their regualr life, which could get awkward. Say the provider turns out to be your coworker? Or brother-in-law?
  12. And yet Crazy Horse is still open...
  13. https://sfstandard.com/2026/03/20/nob-hill-theatre-next-act/ Ok someone needs to start an investor's group and bring this place back from the dead...
  14. Specifically Paul Michael Glaser never got it from his wife who got it from a blood transfusion, and one of their two HIV+ children lived because he had the mutation. I think he tests positive but doesn't need meds. I'm not even sure if strictly speaking he has HIV or just the antibodies.
  15. Is the scrub a salt scrub or just a body wash? I find salt scrubs painful.
  16. I'm saying that breathing through the mask was in fact exercise. I don't see how that causes your breathing to be worse after. Now if you contracted COVID at some point, it would make sense that that could cause lasting lung damage. But masking most certainly did not.
  17. I will say this show hit me a LOT harder emotionally than I expected going in.
  18. I mean they were broken up at that point, I wouldn't think they were Scott's seats. I thought he looked around and realized Kip was there which yes seems unrealistic. I still cried. But when you think about it...."Scott's seats" would be in the middle of all his teammates' seats, so it kinda never made sense that he put Kip his secret lover there, unless he bought them. Def have to suspend your disbelief there.
  19. I would expect working harder to breathe, i.e. exercising, would increase your lung capacity...
  20. My earliest material was the underwear and swimwear ads in the Sunday papers.
  21. I was in hs in the late 80s and the wrestling coach was the only one who showered at the school. I don't think most athletes did by that point.
  22. Basically the 80s became a return to prudery, and not without some reason, because suddenly there was a deadly disease going around. Coupled with more awareness of sexual abuse, adults tried with mixed success to eliminate real and perceived opportunities for sexual activity to occur. Communal showers were a casualty of this effort. And once being naked in front of others was no longer something everyone just did, it became perceived as weird.
  23. 20 is low for a standard 1 hour massage as it's less than 20% unless you got a 30 or 45 minute one.
  24. The point is that undetectable is a point in time measurement and you have to assume the person kept on doing the things that kept them undetectable, with almost no slippage. Nobody is taking daily viral load tests.
  25. A lot of people on social media lean into their social shortcomings/anxieties and have normalized not showing up to things.
