Any tips on how to hit on someone? I have never hit on a guy in person, so I need some tips on what to look for, where to go (not talking about a bar), etc? What works for you in a non-bar scene?

Do you attend gay social clubs? Book clubs?  Church? Softball?  Bowling? Game night?

Or are you asking about guys you might not know whether gay?

    That said,

Try complimenting him e.g. you like their shirt or shoes.

Show interest in whatever they bring up by responding with a question.  Cultivate a friendly dialogue.

  2. Visiting my brother in Iowa, discovered I-Home.  My sister-in-law had it set up on the kitchen counter.

So I said "Hey Siri, play Donde Esta Yolanda by Pink Martini".

That was fun.  It kept playing additional music and soon came to

    "Mi Confesion" by Gotan Project

    Love it!

  3. I've had the same no fee credit card a long, long time.

When I recently took advantage of their attractive banking CD rate the young hot latino gentleman setting up my CD reminded me my credit card is pretty old, that I ought to open a rewards card account.

Fast forward 2+ months and I received an email offer to switch my same old card to a no fee rewards card, no credit check.

    Should I?

I already have a rewards card that I use for most spending so I don't  see a significant incentive for me to change the old card.

The old card is more of a backup used for very specific on-line spending.  ;)

I have found it a guy is on a personal trip or is sick or his real job keeps him busy they don’t respond during that timeframe . Have u left him text messages?

Yes, I have texted, beginning of month and again this week.

His last-online time stamp is June 27th.

Maybe you're right.  Perhaps he is traveling.  He could have turned off his phone.

  5. If you are in So. Cal. and enjoy live theater, Antaeus' production of The Tempest is packed with entertainment.

I was reminded of another recent Shakespeare production, a wildly contemporized Romeo and Juliet at The Old Globe, where a  lovestruck Romeo wondered on stage strumming his guitar and singing "How soon is now?" by The Smiths.

"The Tempest" production was similar to it, with guitar, props, singing and much, much more.

My friend passed on going with me, that he sticks with the classic style Shakespeare productions.

I feel him, yet  I had my expectations. Antaeus does good work.

I enjoyed it.  A talented cast and creative production.

I'm all verklempt watching the trailer from just finishing the memoir.  It was a pretty tearful read.

Those two seem perfect as Mike and Kit.  I like Jim Parsons.

Not sure if I want to sit through the same sad story though.   Kind of like Holding the Man.  A good play, but so sad  I skipped the movie.

    I did finally see it.

I liked it the same way as Bros.   Some of it I liked a lot.

But yeah, the memoir is such a good read, a tough act to follow.

I've read that death from cold exposure can be quite peaceful, and the conditions that weekend were colder than normal from what I remember.  So hopefully his ending was without panic or fear.

The area had a snowstorm at the time he went missing.  His chances looked bad.  But he met his end doing something he loved.

I think you're making a somewhat false equivalency.  Of the 50 Muslim-majority countries, only 2 have Pride celebrations:  Albania and Kosovo.  Of the ~150 Christian-majority countries, almost all have Pride celebrations, except Uganda and a very few others.  You lump the 2 together in the same "homophobic theocracy" basket only because you hate Christians and Christianity.

Can you provide a link where you get this information?

    It seems incorrect.

I can think of Sarajevo and Istanbul that have Pride events.  So that would bring your "2" up to a total of 4 majority Muslim countries with Pride events.

  9. Now that it's over it was certainly a sad outcome.

    But back to the OP

    No you are not insensitive.

I recognized how the lamestream media was dishing up continual content about the incident and I chose to turn away or click away.

Continual speculation and rehashing the likely outcome did not appeal to me yet I get how many are drawn to it.  Gawkers are gonna gawk.

At the point where a famous film director weighed in on the incident seemed a stretch.  Honestly don't know why his opinion mattered because I wasn't paying attention but apparently to many it did.

From an engineering standpoint one might ask how the design integrity was ever proven in the first place.  Or more to the point, how they failed to understand time-to-failure was far less than whatever factor is expected for such a design.

As someone stated above, at that depth it crushed like a bug.

  10. Muchova's facial expressions on court reminded me of a young Chris Evert.

Loved that Evert was there for the women's final.

Though Muchova took 1 set, Swiatek was so tough!

Can anyone beat Djokavik at Wimbledon? He seems unbeatable

Kudos to author Alice Winn who has written convincingly about two men who go from a posh boarding school in England to the front lines of World War One. Her novel is powerful and moving as she details life at the school and life at war. There are many interesting characters in the novel, but Henry Gaunt and Sidney Ellwood as the leads are beautifully created characters. Those of us who like men should enjoy a novel about boys and men, even men at war. World War One is all but forgotten, but Winn brings it to life in a reverent way that acknowledges the pain and loss of the war. I give her credit for the sex scenes as she really seems to get it!

Anyway, lovers of good books should enjoy this novel as much as I did. I look forward to reading your thoughts.

Did you read Flower of Iowa?

    Curious how In Memoriam compares.

  12. If the rate is ASK, I've been inclined to pass.

However a favorite provider recently updated his profile rate to ASK, though he didn't change his rates.  He gives a top rate, skilled massage service and is a sweet guy.

I may think twice from now on before deciding to pass on profiles with an ASK rate.

Thanks.  I reached out to him and was able to set up an appointment fairly easily.

The good news:  the photos are completely accurate; he's a nice guy; the massage is well executed; he's completely nude during the massage; and MT and HE are included but nothing else.  His ad states: "No sex included".  He means it.

The bad news:  his price is now $300 for an in call.  IMHO, that's way too high for a massage--even for one that has the elements of nudity, MT and HE--- and is more in line with what an escort charges.  Others may feel differently.  Everyone is free to make their own choice.

    Yeah 300 is a lot. I agree.

That stinks! My credit union still showing the same rates that have been in effect for a couple months now:

    4.75% APY* for 12 months

    5.25% APY* for 24 months

I got a special 5.10% rate at my credit union 3 months ago, for new money.  Was hoping they would come back with another special, but no.

Your 5.25% at 24 months looks nice.
