EastbayMike reacted to + sniper in Premier 57 NYC
Sorry when you're doing it in a public place, and accommodating a shared amenity in that public place to do so, you have no reasonable expectation of being left to monopolize it. If they want privacy they can take it to a hotel or their place.

Im sorry, when did a premium co-ed spa become a gay sexclub? Oh right, #whiteprivilege

EastbayMike reacted to Ajac in Masseur vs masseuse
I remember years ago I had a massage with a masseur I had seen in an erotic wrestling video. In my nervousness I asked, " how long have you been a masseuse?" He took my hand placed it on his large flacid penis and said, "Masseur, this is what makes me a Masseur and it has been 5 years."
Never mixed up the two words again.

I think it's ok to do it in writing, perhaps in public it would seem rude, but honestly I would rather know if it were me so as to avoid making the same mistake again. Also, like most things, it depends how it is handled

EastbayMike reacted to NYMassageAddict in Masseur vs masseuse
I know it’s a simple mistake, but for the record, a masseuse is a female who provides massage while a masseur is a male who provides the massage.
For the sake of 99% of conversations on this board, people should refer to a masseur NOT a masseuse.
That is all.

EastbayMike reacted to InterestingGuy in Escorts and So Many Tattoos
As I look at escort ads, I notice now that most escorts under 30 years old have tattoos. And not just a single tat, but several all over - arms, legs, calves and chests. This trend has been around for several years and seems to be getting more common.
Does anyone here think that the tattoos make a guy look better? I don't. My opinion is that they cover and distract from a beautiful body - especially if they are large - like ones that cover an entire pectoral muscle - or an entire arm sleeve. But I'm betting that I'm in the minority.
As the tattoo trend seems to grow, it makes me think of the saying: "Nothing expresses your individuality like doing exactly what everyone else is doing."

My political correctness has no tolerance for that term. I don't understand how today's society has allowed that term to remain popular/acceptable.

And he thinks he's a masseuse. No true male professional would make that mistake.

EastbayMike reacted to LaffingBear in San Francisco/Oakland recommendations
Maybe because its a major tourist destination. Certainly because of its historic attractiveness to the gay community
Size-wise, SF is relatively small. Not one of the top 10 cities in US. So, there're often fewer choices here than people imagine.
Not really helpful here... and there are other factors at play. I'm always a little disappointed by the peculiar challenge of living in the US city people still label as some gay mecca... and realizing that, in many ways, (including the rentguy scene), it's far from being the best place to be gay.

EastbayMike reacted to MartyB in Deposit required by ParkerAllen Chicago
This is not going to the dentist or doctor. I'm hiring an escort. I have an important job nd there are times where I have had to cancel. Same with any escort who cancels on me. Even my regular guy has had medical issues personal issues we move on. As I said no escort will get a deposit fro me.

EastbayMike reacted to AquaNYC in Straightphysique Los Angeles
I really don't get straight men advertising on RM for gay men. What is the draw of gay men to have an encounter with a man who wants limited if any contact? There are plenty of beautiful, well developed gay men who would likely allow a similar experience? What am I missing about the attraction and appeal in hiring straight men (those that limit physical contact to minimal to none)?

Always assume the worst and behave accordingly. What a sexual partner tells you is irrelevant.
-
EastbayMike reacted to Larstrup in Warning to those who hire: Please be careful
This is a seriously flawed conclusion if it had been years since this person hired said escort and remained sexually active with other partners. Nevertheless, this drives home the importance of seeing a health professional on a regular basis for testing if you are sexually active.
Reckless fear-mongering of an anonymous, yet strategically targeted person, about his sexual-health is irresponsible and maleficent behavior which only infuses confusion and turmoil within individuals of a community.

With escorts, I always assume they may have HIV and hope I am wrong. That way I avoid unnecessary risks.

EastbayMike reacted to + José Soplanucas in Warning to those who hire: Please be careful
Absolutely. I stand for the right of any person to keep his/her HIV status private. I do not expect an escort I hire has to disclose his status, it is just not my business.

This is really the only part that matters. Whether we choose condoms or PrEP, or both, each of us is responsible for our own sexual health.

EastbayMike reacted to MikeBiDude in Looking for masseur/escort session in LA. Recommendations please.
It's interesting that Anthony's definition of erotic massage is:
Most masseurs I've encountered would NOT assume erotic=penetration. Just more evidence that these are murky waters we navigate, so much hard data and shared experiences are very subjective...far from empirical fact.
