I had a similar experience in Chicago as recently as 2017.  My Uber driver was to take me to Boys Town.  The driver said "are you sure you want to go to Boys Town, it's full of gays".  I said yes, and he was silent the rest of the way there.

I've been to a number of the places mentioned in this thread. The Asian massage places are mostly great. The Japanese host clubs are intriguing but I haven't spent much time in Japan yet. The enormous number of guys listed on their websites is fascinating.

Yeah, part of it I chalk up to guys not wanting to make any commitments to doing anything before meeting. I've been chatting with a different newbie tonight. I got the "my roommate left me and the rent is due" story. Which may very well be true. He needs $800. He'd like to go on platonic dates for $250 but might be willing to do more intimate things "eventually". Maybe I am too cheap. Or my expectations aren't realistic. But I told him if he's got guys willing to pay that much he should do what's best for him.

Except: I see a need to separate out licensed masseurs.
For them nothing on this site should jeopardize their license. No mention of “erotic”, “mutual touch”, “kissing” or any similar innuendo.

What massage techniques are offered?
Is he licensed/trained in massage?  If a masseur is licensed, we may need to limit some of the other requested fields.

Have been to TopMen spa 3 times incl today and always had great massages especially from Ryan and Max . To me it is the #1 spa now in NYC. Super clean and very friendly and accomodating  management . I will be retuning again and again. Very highly recommended.

I should specify that I often go for the table shower first, which is never a massage.
Then in the second half I often cut short the massage because the guy is just too sexy for me to keep my hands off him, and since they sometimes let the session  go in that direction, well, I really don’t know if they are good masseurs or not.

Just had a last minute session with Royal and I wouldn't repeat, not even for half price. Massage was meh and the ending, rushed. It takes me a while to get over the edge and things got pretty lazy and sloppy.

My biggest advice on Seeking for both sides of the potential arrangement, is be prepared for wildly varied expectations. Like you @fedssocr1 I simply tell the gentleman that doesn’t meet my expectations to take care, and I’m sure he’ll find a match on Seeking, but it’s not me.

You really do have to be patient and not expect too much, and in my experience be willing to accept that you're taking the good with the bad (regarding even just communication or lack thereof). For the "SD" side the monthly fee does add up so I've dabbled in and out over the past several months and try to establish off site communications and not be dependent on the site.  And wouldn't ya know whenever it's time that I'm gonna let the subscription lapse, there's a sudden uptick in SB's reaching out! Hahaha. (Draw whatever conclusions you like).  
The other thing I've noticed is i swear many of these guys must go to the same "finishing school" or get the same "SB Certificate's Program" that offers 4 or 5 Majors/Concentrations as many of the conversations/approaches/tactics are like cut and paste jobs that it can't all be just big coincidences. Hahaha.

Take the conversation off-site before discussing anything physical or your account will get banned. Think about your ideal arrangement and be upfront and honest. It’s easy to waste a LOT of time on that site if you aren’t direct about expectations. But again, take the conversation off-site.
I also recommend immediately blocking anyone who messages you that you aren’t interested in, so they can’t make a frivolous complaint about you.

I don't normally report on my trips to Toronto and Montreal clubs, as each visit can vary greatly depending on who is there on the night. However, with significant changes happening, particularly as we emerge from the aftermath of the plague, I thought I'd give a bit of a description of my recent visit. I visited clubs in Toronto and Montreal from BC in mid October. This is the Toronto report; Montreal is in another post.
So the owners of Flash have made changes, and created two different venues. The old Flash, on the main floor, is now a party venue with different theme nights and drag shows. I didn't go there, so cannot comment. Upstairs is Cock Bar, which is the new incarnation of the male strip club. You go up a steep flight of stairs from the street, which thankfully for people of a certain vintage, has sturdy railings on both sides. pay the usual membership fee of $5, though now they just call it a cover fee. There are two rooms. The first is fairly similar to the old Flash bar, long and narrow. It has stools along the wall, with two tables in front of the stage, and two others nearby. There is a second room around the corner, which has high top tables and stools.
The main stage is as small, if not smaller, than the old Flash stage. Weirdly, there is a pole right in the corner, and if spinning were a possibility, they would hit customers at the table. However, when I was there, the stage was encased in plexiglass, no doubt to ward off the plague. I was told that it would be removed soon. There is a second stage in the "upper" room.
The stage dances, as before, consist of two songs on the main stage, and if there is anyone in the upper room, a third dance on that stage. I was there on a Wednesday and Thursday nights, so it wasn't at its liveliest. Let's just say, you don't necessarily have to be particularly fit to dance at Cock Bar. Some of the dancers I seem to remember from Remingtons, though I could be mistaken on that. (Ah Remingtons... the site is still a big hole in the ground.) Most stage dances were very lacklustre, with little energy displayed. The second song, which presumably is suppose to reveal more, was in most cases little different from the first. Not all were like that, of course. One guy stripped off right from the start, standing at attention, but he was a newbie.
As luck would have it, on the Wednesday, one of the few fit dancers, Nick, approached me and we soon proceeded to the back rooms, where a good time was had by all. In the past, as I recall, you had to pay $5 for the customer and $5 for the dancer. Now you pay the house a flat $20. The rooms are nicely fitted up, spacious, with a large bench and a lounge chair. As previously, the doors have a latch. (Having said that, I have had more adventurous encounters at the open booths in Montreal, but I guess the locked doors offer a greater range of opportunities in Toronto, depending on the dancer.)
I did go briefly on Thursday, but the uninspiring dancers (one with particularly bad breath) and being tired, I didn't stay. However, I'm sure, on the weekend, with a bit more energy, you can have a fun time at Cock Bar.
