I think it’s every culture except the US, Canada & Northern Europe - where younger men routinely seek out older men for sex & not for money.
It’s a little confusing to me tho when some guys reference getting sex “for free”.   I’m not paying for sex because I can’t get it at no cost.  I’m paying for convenience and sex completely on my terms - whatever that includes with no other attachments or expectations.
I’ve got enough experience with the apps & “for free” to know it frequently comes with complications, expectations and the hookup is not likely there there to cater to all of my desires.
“Free hookup-sex” and paid sex are two totally different things.  Wasted time seeking the free sex and less than desirable experiences is almost reduced to zero (in both areas) when I pay.  And there is absolutely no comparison between the real pros in the business vs random hookups. There might be free-sex anecdotes here and there - but it’s just not the way it usually works, if choosing the right provider.
I will take quality paid provider mind-blowing sex vs quantity mediocre free-sex hookups every single time.

Cody is in my area so I contacted him about getting together. He was very willing but quoted a fee of $500 so I said no thank you. He then contacted me and wanted to know what I would pay. I told him I didn't like to bargain. He then sent me a quote of $300. I like guys to let me know their fee and I can decide to take it or leave it. I hate the bargaining and hard sell approach. It feels like buying a car. Am I being too sensitive?

Frankcal reacted to + Charlie in Are you "gay"? Are you "queer"? What the hell are you?!
The word "gay" when I was young was an adjective that described a person or event that was light-hearted and jovial. "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" was the title of a popular film in the 1940s, based on a memoir by two famous women writers who described their youthful social adventures in Paris before the war. I didn't learn a new use of the word until I became sexually active in 1960, and discovered that "gay" was a code word used among male homosexuals to describe their secretive social community. I had to laugh when I lived in a "Pennsylvania Dutch" area in the early 1960s, and found out that "gay" was the code word that the Amish residents used to describe any non-Amish neighbor, so if they said, "Oh, you're gay," it didn't mean they knew I slept with other men. (I don't imagine they use that term any longer.) Post-Stonewall, although "homosexual" was still the formal descriptor, it seemed that everyone learned that "gay" meant anyone who had same-gender sex partners. I remember a lot of debate over the use of the term in the 1970s (lesbians thought it was restricted to men, bi-sexuals thought it was too limiting to refer to them, etc.), but it seems to have become the default word used in most public discourse, if one doesn't simply use the LGBTQ monogram. More often, however, I am seeing "queer," which used to have a very negative connotation, being used by younger males who are not strictly heterosexual, to describe themselves.
I've been "gay" for so long that it is my automatic response, if asked. But what about you?

Frankcal reacted to RadioRob in Coming Soon: Master Threads
One of the biggest challenges that I've observed over the years is the number of "411" threads on a specific person.  There are times we could have anywhere from 3-12 on a single person!  This could happen for different reasons...  such as someone not knowing how to use the search function or the provider had changed their name.
When we eventually launch the new review site, when a new item is added... a forum topic will automatically be created for that place/person.  It will have a subject of:
    [ Category ] Item Name
So for example, it might look like:
    [ Escort ] John Doe
The first post inside of that topic will contain fields from the review (I can pick which fields get brought over so not all may be posted).  The goal will be that the topic will become the master topic about discussion about that item (person/place).
Over time...  if we see information that changes about the item, people will be able to report it so that it can be updated.  So if an escort changes their name for example, someone would report that record and provide the new name.  A moderator will be able to update the item.  They'll also be able to add the old name to a special field called "Former Names".  This will let us to better track those who change their names from time to time.
Inside the review record, it might look something like:

If other things change, that can be updated in the record itself.
All of the detail from that record anytime it is edited would also sync to the master thread and edit the first post in it with the updated info, including the topic title if there was a a name change involved.
Now... I'm going to put this out there now that moderators may from time to time not publish a name change in the "Former Names" field.  If we have reason to believe there is a risk to the person or there is another legitimate reason, we may update the name field only without adding the old name to the former name field.
This will hopefully allow the first post to contain all of the latest known info about each item as it gets changed over time without needing to update 500 places.  If it works out the way I'm hoping, this will become the "source of truth" about the item and people can comment over time with their own observations, etc.  The topic itself would not be used for reviews.  (That's what the review system is for.) But general discussion about the person would happen there.
Eventually if someone does post a new thread about someone where a master topic exists, the moderators may end up merging that post into the master.
This is obviously not in place yet.  I'm just tossing the idea out there now so folks have a chance to comment on it and get used to the idea.

That is my standard approach. I always reach out to a couple of the recent RM reviewers before I contact the provider.  It’s worked well for me. Still can’t figure out how to do the same on rentmasseur.
