why are clients always answering in a forum titled ask a provider? it helps to be as specific as possible when contacting a provider. that's been said ad nauseum on here. he was probably tired of dealing with other flakey vague time-wasting nonsense. doesn't completely justify his response, but if you want better responses then just get to the point at answering questions and be specific about meeting. time date location. it isn't complicated. scheduling an appointment with a provider shouldn't be such an insurmountable challenge.

Slater hit the high points.  Pay attention to everything he posted.
I'll only offer one piece of advice that's served me well:
You can't be everything to everyone and you don't want to be.  Learn who you are as an escort and what you offer best.
Also, the power of saying 'no' to people is an incredible thing.  Don't be afraid to use it.

The truth is that they do it because they don’t respect you, your time, or what you do, and they get off on interacting with you.  They take advantage of any time and attention you’ll give away to them because they  have no intention of booking  you, and they will not be able to interact with you outside of any time and attention you’ll give to them for free. It’s  the reality and one of the worst, if not the worst parts of this business. What you’ll learn though is that there are patterns, and it is pretty easy to identify  people who are serious about booking and people who are not serious. Learn how to Identify those people who are clearly going to try and waste your time, and stop engaging with them.  They can only waste a lot of your time if you let them.

rn901 got a reaction from Jarrod_Uncut in Dates next to travel cities. "Near travel" locations. Why must it all be a challenge?
I think a tutorial video for clients is a fantastic idea. However, I guarantee even that won't eradicate the problem entirely. Some people are still going to continue to be lazy, dumb or both. In the words of Ron White "You can't fix stupid". A questionnaire seems like a hassle but getting that clarification out of the way early on is the only solution I see. But there are clients where getting any kind of information clarified or any plans established is like pulling teeth. Besides the social stigma of the work, clients being so incapable of scheduling an appointment is probably the most annoying aspect of the job. For many, they are able to do it with such ease and efficiency. For others, I have to bang my head against my desk.

I wouldn't change that setting because there are clients competent enough to read the dates next to the cities and who are courteous enough to schedule in advance prior to me coming to that city. All of which makes a smooth planning of things for some of my best encounters. It is overall beneficial for clients to see what cities I'm traveling to prior to me getting there. Unfortunately, not all clients are competent or courteous.

Our About Me has a small limit of characters that we can type. There's not enough room to repeat information that is already provided elsewhere on the ad. GPS settings show which city I am in and yet they don't even bother to look at that either and still think I'm in their city. So, this information is already provided twice with travel dates and with my GPS location, yet they don't bother reading either and still get confused. Having such information a third time on my ad probably would have little effect. Many clients don't read the About Me section anyways. I guess the only solution would be to set up an automatic questionnaire as suggested by Jarrod which sounds like a pain in the ass for both parties but less of a pain in the ass than me finding in route or after scheduling to meet that we're not even talking about the right city.

This has been a continuous persistent problem since the beginning of the ancient era of rentboy. Client requests to meet at a hotel downtown. I find out last minute when I arrive, he meant a hotel downtown at a different city! Oh joy! Argues that my ad pops up when he searches that given city, so its not his fault. Okay, did you look at the ad? Did you look at dates next to the cities? Near travel? Do you know what it means? Home location, is that confusing to understand? Are these really difficult concepts to grasp? Why are you blaming the rentmen website or me for you being lazy and carelessly looking over such details on an ad? Or you not being able to comprehend "near travel" or "home location"? Now you've wasted both our time. This shouldn't be difficult. Scheduling an appointment with an escort shouldn't be difficult! For the love of god, why is this hard? It seems like every day I have to explain what "near travel" and "home location" mean. Is it also really that difficult to read the dates next to travel cities? Is there any solution to this besides having to remind every client which city you are in at a given moment prior to meeting? It's quite a hassle.

There does need to be more escort input, but over the eons, people have come and gone or concerned posting could hurt their business if they say the wrong thing. There’s been a few good players, but people and priorities change I guess. Some escorts too just like to “play” very private. They only want to exude 1 type of image, the untouchable RentMan. Any sort of platform that blurs that, is best to be avoided. It doesn’t do anything to promote acceptance, change or opinions. But some people really just about themselves, and there’s just nothing you can do about it.
When I do come here, admittedly it’s often during a time I’m going thru patches in the biz and need to consult. When things are smooth sailing, I just don’t always have the capacity to give input. When business is going good, I almost have to keep the momentum going on a subconscious level lol. And that could mean not really concerning what’s going on elsewhere.
That said, when I am here: I’m willing to share and learn.

That should never happen. This goes back to the other thread I posted in. That’s exactly why I have an initial questionnaire, and I meant to say: Always ask what city they are in because majority of time I realize their area code could be from anywhere. It should be something like this:
Hi and welcome, I’m (name). For your 1st contact, please include some more details so I can best accommodate your desire:

    Name/Age:
    City You’re In:
    Website Seen On:
    Yours or My place:
This here atleast covers the bases. You shouldn’t be trekking to any hotel until first confirming they are actually in the same city. A “Westin downtown” isn’t even enough info to leave the house for. I need a specific address.
It is exhausting to answer these questions, but I’ll ask them all day long versus finding out en route that they are inquiring about a travel city.
As for clients not reading ads to know what city you’re in, that is frustrating and I find it to be most common on RentMasseur versus RentMen because the way it shows ads in the homepage “grid” versus RentMen, where you have to physically move your location to get visibility on whatever cities home page grid.
This is sometimes where removing my number or saying “not available” comes in hand. I already know my home market is usually dead, so at times I’ll run my ad in a future or inspiring city with “not available” or no phone number. Sometimes I just want people to look at the ad, and get to know me. Some clients see an ad and get so eager, they assume I am in 5 cities at once.
I think RM needs to give every client a tutorial about how to use the site. It’s harder to advertise in travel cities these days because everybody thinks just because my ad is there, that I’m also there.
No. Ask me, don’t assume. And be willing to plan.

It's becoming incredibly tiresome how @StarGZ is spamming the forum with his (or their) hagiography of this escort. I had long ago decided that I would love to meet him and I'm unlikely to resile from that view but if I were not already convinced, his ceaseless adulation would make me doubt the wisdom of contacting Dean. A clingy succession of posts, each praising Dean more effusively than the last does nothing to help him. If he is as good as you say, and I don't doubt that he is, you will serve his interests better if you just STFU.

-He charges a higher rate than some are willing to pay. May require deposit
-Some members love him, including some veteran posters
-Some dislike him for a litany of reasons
-Some find is education/degree to be rather common
-The other 17 pages is just filler, including discussions of pizza and COVID

Your normal high school kid would no doubt jazz it up. But then spoil it by making all sorts of spelling errors, using poor grammar, lousy punctuation etc. We would read discrete, dominate, masseuse, etc.

I think his site is refreshingly simple, large type for the typical client such as myself, literate and classy. I would be surprised on meeting him if he didn’t speak the same way. Just my thoughts as I am unlikely to meet him anytime soon.

This is an overbroad statement. It is true that good students who apply themselves can get as much from their college experience as students do at Ivy League schools. And there are some exceptional State Universities, and some that are exceptional in certain areas or fields. However, the faculty at the Ivies are uniformly among the top in their fields, the schools all have tremendous resources for research (libraries, science facilities), enroll students who are at the top of their classes in secondary school, and in a whole manner of other ways offer a generally more rigorous and exceptional education than other colleges and universities. The brightest stars from other schools may measure equally or even better than the brightest from the Ivies, but the great majority of Ivy graduates are better educated than the great majority at most other schools.

It is also true that coming from money and being connected is a huge advantage for getting admitted to the most competitive schools, and that merit has less to do with the admission in those cases. But that's not how the vast majority of students get into the Ivies. They do so by being at the top of their HS class, having a breadth of experience, testing well, doing laudable and interesting things outside of school, being among the best at their extracurricular pursuits, etc.

One of the first escorts that I got together with had gone to Harvard. At every opportunity he left that information out. He seems to think that it meant something to me. Was he intelligent and able to have a conversation? Yes. Did he strike me as any more intelligent than anyone else with a college degree? No. He wasn’t some Einstein. Just your average college educated guy.

Well, I contacted him and he quoted me 450/hr to start. I told him thanks, but that's more than I'm used to spending. He asked me what my budget was. I told him that guys in LA are usually 300/hr plus tip. I was OK being flexible but a 50% markup was more than I was looking to spend. His response was, because he's a doctor and double Ivy League grad, he's more upscale than the other guys. I told him that the escorts here aren't hillbillies with straw in their teeth and many are college graduates themselves. Maybe not doctors, but they're educated at fine universities. Moving on....

now that everyone has had the chance to kick him around because he's more than they want to spend (after questioning his education, his fluency in languages, and his pricing structure) they can move on to the next new face … and wonder why the advertisers sometimes get snarky with them

I'd quibble over the term "a la carte" menu. From what's been posted, it's menu of pricing "packages" for time. Although it's probably not the best fit for the escorting context, it's not dissimilar to how a lot of services are priced. You can pay monthly at x rate, or you can pay for a year in advance at a discounted rate, or you can enroll in autopay and pay a rate in between the two. When I read "a la carte" I think of it being about paying not for a block of time but separately for each activity. In the commercial context, it's like paying for basic cable then having to pay for each movie or event as a "pay per view" or "on demand" purchase.

Maybe I missed something, but ivyleaguehungvrs's fees seem more chock full of premium rates discounted for bulk purchase, not pay per item pricing.
