This is only for providers who travel to my city. If they text me and say they are planning a visit and only have a few days here, I absolutely will pay a deposit to secure my time with them. It’s not always 100%, but the point is deposits need to be paid especially with several clients cancelling without notice when the providers are paying so much in travel costs and depending on making the money from appointments that we book. I always put myself in their shoes and have the most respect for what these guys do.

My rule of thumb. If there is a quality provider I know I want to meet I will contact him for an appointment and pay a 50% deposit of the appointment time. No questions asked. This puts us both at ease. He knows he will be taken care of with me paying him, and I know I will get the confirmed time that works best for me.
Once I’ve met the provider, I will pay 100% of their fee when booking the next appointment. This works best for me and any provider I’ve hired. It seems like a win win for both parties, I’m not sure why all clients don’t follow suit.

I was humored when I read on here a while back of some clients who don't like it when escorts have alternative sources of income and financial independence outside the job. That told me everything I needed to know about some of the personalities who inhabit these spaces.

If a client has 3 or more bad comments they have to pay a deposit to book. I won't waste my time on flakes and no shows.

It's hard to parse what your post is trying to say, but it sounds like you have multiple instances of cancelling with short notice.  So why even book in advance, rather than waiting til you know you're actually free?  If you want to reply "because my time is limited and I want to be sure that he'll be available when I might be" I'd ask why the provider isn't afforded the same consideration.

I just finished "Alec" by William di Canzio; it builds upon the E.M. Forster novel "Maurice" and tells the story of Maurice's relationship with Alec, an estate gamekeeper.  It's a fairly lusty tale with a happy ending and it's one of those books that you wish wouldn't end.  Here's a link to a review in Plentitude Magazine: https://plenitudemagazine.ca/tales-of-our-forefathers-a-review-of-william-di-canzios-alec/

I just finished Vaclav Smil's How the World Really Works, and it is one of the most enlightening books I have ever read, since it succinctly explains exactly what the subtitle says: The Science Behind How We Got Here and Where We're Going. Smil recognizes a truism of human nature, that most people want a simple answer to how to solve an extremely complex problem, in this case global warming and its consequences, and shows why the simple answers--like persuading everyone to switch to driving electric vehicles--don't work. He points out that there are other simple answers that would actually have much more impact--like banning the production of anything made with plastic, or making raising of meat for food a worldwide criminal offense--that are obviously impossible. The modern world as we know it is totally dependent on the utilization of fossil fuels, and will be until far into the future, since we can't give up electricity, steel, air transportation and fertilizers for growing food, all of which are heavily dependent on the burning of fossil fuels, without radically altering our global economy and lifestyles in ways that few people will put up with.
It is not a particularly long book, but every paragraph is packed with facts. It also demands that the reader have a high tolerance for statistical analysis, because the book is loaded with math, with many references to subjects measured in things like terabytes and gigajoules. (For those who need it, there is a whole chapter devoted to explaining the mathematical terminology.) There are also 71 pages of footnotes and references for everything covered in the text. Since I used to teach a course in writing research papers, I am a sucker for footnotes and bibliographies, but even if you skip over them, you will learn a lot.

The Celts displaced the original inhabitants of Ireland around 2000 years ago.  The original settlers or colonizers had been there several thousand years already.  In the early Middle Ages the Irish colonized much of northwest Scotland, destroying the culture and language of the Picts.

It's the same with their 'Rentmen Exclusive' guys.  No rhyme or reason to the listing and they don't put qualifications anywhere on the site.
You're better off paying for multiple days of platinum in major cities you plan on visiting. That will get you traffic and inquiries.

It has been my experience that the state of public health and the response to pandemics have greater effect on business than inflation. Fear of catching the omicron virus last winter or something as painful as monkey pox were more of a deterrent in hiring providers than paying an extra couple bucks for a gallon of gas. When public health is good, business tends to be good.

Oh dear this is becoming like Twitter. I avoid expressing any kind of opinion on there because it just degenerates into ad hominem insults. I just post thirst trap pics and videos! Even those attract some strange comments sometimes.

I suppose in a forum called ‘ask a provider’ it’s reasonable to assume most of the replies should be from providers. I try to give my provider perspective but I am conscious of trying not to offend potential clients with things I might say. I think on balance though it’s positive to contribute here because a genuinely held opinion put respectfully is likely to be positive for business. I mean if you don’t like my views or position you’re probably not going to be a good client are you? So no loss there. Best you feel an affinity with me because then it’s likely to be a good session. It’s kind of like putting heavily airbrushed (or even worse, faked) pics on your profile to attract clients. When they see the real you they’ll only be disappointed.
I like to hear what clients think about the ‘ask a provider’ questions though so I think it’s good for clients to post things on the thread. However the client comments do show that there are some big misunderstandings about what life is like as a provider. I don’t work 2 hours a day and make $100k net a year. It’s at least 3 hours a day……
Before I started doing this work I too had those misunderstandings (and I used to hire) so I can see where they come from. But now having been doing this kind of work for about 5 years I also see the other side. So clients, if a provider says ‘this is how it is from my perspective’ then he’s doing so from a position of greater knowledge than you (even if you’ve been hiring for years) and you shouldn’t say he’s wrong because you haven’t walked in his shoes have you?
You’re entitled to your opinion of course, but I know who’s opinion on the job from the provider perspective I will take more note of.

You may have less rage if you minded your own business and respected the sexual autonomy of other consenting adults. Their personal private sex lives are not obligated to accommodate what offends you or doesn't offend you personally. No one has such a dictatorial right over the sex lives of other people. It's difficult to even fathom the level of entitlement it takes to think one does have such a right to deny such sexual agency in others. Yes, it is a collective rather than individual problem. It is a complete disregard for the sexual autonomy/freedom of others, the self-agency of others, the privacy of others and the boundaries of other people beyond oneself. I'll say it again- no one has the right to dictate what one consenting adult can or cannot do with another consenting adult in mutually enjoyable consensual sexual activity.

Also again, since you ignored this repeated point in this thread, somehow the rampant misogyny is okay in the BDSM scene but raceplay is not. If you condemn raceplay but have nothing to say about the constant reenactments of sexual violence or the daily stream of homophobic/misogynistic epithets in the scene then you are inconsistent and you are a hypocrite. You're just condemning what's more stigmatized and taboo at the current moment. At least Andrea Dworkin and Catharine A. MacKinnon were consistent in their obnoxious puritanical opposition to sexual freedom and self-autonomy. You are not.

rn901 got a reaction from Marc in Calif in Dates next to travel cities. "Near travel" locations. Why must it all be a challenge?
This has been a continuous persistent problem since the beginning of the ancient era of rentboy. Client requests to meet at a hotel downtown. I find out last minute when I arrive, he meant a hotel downtown at a different city! Oh joy! Argues that my ad pops up when he searches that given city, so its not his fault. Okay, did you look at the ad? Did you look at dates next to the cities? Near travel? Do you know what it means? Home location, is that confusing to understand? Are these really difficult concepts to grasp? Why are you blaming the rentmen website or me for you being lazy and carelessly looking over such details on an ad? Or you not being able to comprehend "near travel" or "home location"? Now you've wasted both our time. This shouldn't be difficult. Scheduling an appointment with an escort shouldn't be difficult! For the love of god, why is this hard? It seems like every day I have to explain what "near travel" and "home location" mean. Is it also really that difficult to read the dates next to travel cities? Is there any solution to this besides having to remind every client which city you are in at a given moment prior to meeting? It's quite a hassle.

No, hubris would be blaming the rentmen website or the provider for one's inability or unwillingness to pay attention to the most basic of details on an ad... that's listed not once but twice for you. You deserve crappy escorts who show up two hours late or who can't get it up if you're that level of arrogant. It is completely deserved for yes lazy, dumb behavior/attitude. Why? Because other clients who are capable of scheduling appointments with ease and efficiency like a sane minimally competent adult are the ones who get the time of better-quality escorts. That's just how it works buddy. But we can continue to wonder otherwise in our online bubble of circularly enabled aggrievement as to why we continue to get bad experiences with other providers. What. A. Joke.
