Keeping Private Photos on RM Private?

I've recently had two occasions where an escort on the RM site has declined to grant me access to his private photos on the site. I am a bit confused -- my profile doesn't reveal that I am an ax murderer or scat enthusiast, and I don't think there are any other particularly off-putting aspects of my profile. I am curious as to why one would have a stash of "private" photos on the site and then decline to grant access to them for a prospective client. In both cases, I wouldn't consider hiring the 'scort in question. 'Tis a puzzlement.

I've had this happen a few times. I was puzzled at first and now I simply move on. I think some may want a donation to unlock, some may want more of a message (showing genuine interest) than the standard RM "please unlock". I'm sure they get unlock messages all day long (photo collectors) which never go anywhere, some may simply decide it's not worth their time to respond if there's not more of an expression of interest. If I'm genuinely interested in someone, I'll try to craft a 1-2 sentence email with my unlock request.

..and this is why clients are refused access. After countless request to unlock to entertain gentlemen who aren’t “considering hiring,” there is no benefit in doing so. Same with the client who wants to “chat on the phone for a screening” to determine whether an arrangement will be had, when he’s really on the other side of the line halfway to getting his nut.

You misunderstand me. I WAS originally considering hiring - that's why I asked for the access - but wouldn't do so after I was refused access to the photos. Both men lost a potential customer. I don't ask for access to get my rocks off - there is way too much free porn around to bother. When I am intrigued by a guy's public photos, and I am/will be in the same vicinity, I request an unlock. It's not like I am asking for a free test drive. Gee.

I gotta say that I am surprised at the disdain with which potential clients are often treated with regard to requests for additional info/views - the expectation that the purchase will be made sight unseen. What amazes me is how many clients put up with that crap.

What amazes me is how many clients are shocked that escorts would have policies in place to curb away potential clients with such an incredible sense of entitlement.

His body, his choice who to show it to. If you don’t like it then move on. Not everyone feels like revealing everything to every Tom Dick & Harry who wants to see. If you need to see the guy’s asshole/erection to make a decision then simply move on to someone who shows theirs openly. Plenty of fish in the sea. He doesn’t owe you a thing, and I guarantee you there are plenty of other clients who are happy to hire him based on whatever he chooses to show publicly.

Respecting someone’s boundaries isn’t “putting up with crap”. If you seriously think that, then it’s absolutely no loss to the guys you aren’t booking. Nobody wants a client with the sense of entitlement that you seem to have.

That’s not to say that most escorts won’t reveal private photos upon request. But your attitude about those who choose not to grant you access is VERY REVEALING about you.

just out of curiosity – did you check his ad carefully to see if maybe he put the password in the ad? I did that, and I provide links for people to find hundreds of others of pictures of me, and I *still* get requests for the password for my gallery. I make the choice to decline those requests, because it tells me very clearly that the person did not even bother to take 3 minutes toread my ad, because if they had, they would have seen the password and known how to unlock the photos. I’m not saying that this is what happened with your guy, and you have the right to make whatever choice you like, just as he does. I try to look at any kind of rejection as the universe protecting me from something that I don’t really need or want. Maybe that’s all that happened.

@Eric Hassan, your private photo password is in your ad? FML.

So, I just heard from Mike that my password was not on my profile. I went and looked, and it seems to have been removed. I added it again and the system told me my text update was “under review” – I’m wondering if RM is editing that out. I will keep posted :)

I think RM is editing passwords out of profiles. I noticed they keep removing mine from my profile too. Otherwise I have the same view about people requesting an unlock thru RM. All my photos are on my website, and I really feel that if a client is serious, he should be willing to click over and view them there. I do approve unlock requests tho cuz I don’t require any privacy around my “private” photos. But I assume that pretty much all of them are just curious/browsing.

In my case, RM forces me to keep quite a lot of my photos private even though I don’t want them to be. Trans guys aren’t allowed to show our “hard ons” (strap-ons) publicly.

Results of stringent, strictly controlled research ;) - of all the ads on RM (worldwide - couple thousand ???) - putting the word "password" into the search box returns 4 pages of ads (approx. 100 total # of ads) ---

from a small sampling, maybe somewhat more than half of those ads have wording "the password for my private pics is XXXX"....the rest mostly will say something like "contact me for the password to my private pics"....

putting "passcode" (a word some guys use) into the search function, yields back about 10 ads total....

& of course, of the couple thousand (???) worldwide ads, not all (many / most ???) ads have private pics anyway.

Exactly. Premium access is a revenue source for the RM site. The escort should help clients, not a site he's already paid. He should maximize his revenue by enticing more clients.

And I understand how many internet guys try to just get freebie jerk-off looks at who theyre talking to. An escort's PITA.

I have an escort friend who just posts current short vids in pants so clients can verify hes not a fake. Thats plenty.

I always find it fascinating that clients feel they have a right to be very inquisitive and meticulous in their research (i.e., account creation date, number of reviews, who reviewed , daddyreview, etc)

Yet clients are all up in arms for a declined gallery request when your profile provides nothing but a sign up date and all 33 views. AND you aren’t a premium member? Lol. Goodnight.

I am confused that a working guy would want to avoid showing something to a potential client that may make the client hire him. However, I do make it a point (where I can) to include information in my original request for locked pics regarding why I want them. Generally it is because the guy is in the city I reside in and am looking for someone here. I think guys like the fact that it could mean repeat business. If it were a guy in another city, I would let him know why he interested me. Small things seem to make it likely he will take the time to open the photos. Maybe it should not be that way but what can I say.

That policy makes no sense to me.

Yup it’s transphobic as fuck. Cis men rule the world and gay cis men are no exception when it comes to their little worlds. Obviously the guys who own rentmen wanna see cis guys’ hard-ons badly enough to take the legal risk, but don’t care to make a correlating exception for trans guys. It puts trans guys who TOP in a very difficult situation. Every cis TOP on RM is allowed to show off his tool, but mine is relegated to private photos? Transphobic and I literally won’t be renewing my RM ad over the policy. The ad is pretty useless to me if I can’t even include the kind of photos that my potential clients would want to see before booking me.

It always surprises me when someone refuses to show their private pics upon polite request. I only request when I’m looking to hire and I make that clear in my request. If they say no, I move on. There are plenty of good guys out there that are willing to be friendly to potential customers. The rest aren’t worth worrying about.

It’s a really strange business decision to make the shopping process difficult for potential customers.

Novice, please look up the definition of "client" in the dictionary. Let me explain something to you: I am NOT advertising, I am NOT selling something. I am the buyer. If the escort wants to know something about me, I will be happy to engage in an exchange. But no client has an obligation to post public information about himself anywhere.

As for Zachary Prince, where is my "incredible sense of entitlement?" I am asking to have a look before I commit to the encounter, before I fork over several hundred dollars. Entitlement? No. Common sense? Yes.
