Ignorance and/or common usage. The one that really makes me wince is "60's", but it has become so common now I doubt there's any hope of stopping it.

I'm with you! Nothing is more off putting than an ad with misspellings, poor grammar, and incorrect or lack of punctuation. For me, those errors tell me something about the escort's personality, mindset, and attention to detail. If they care enough about crafting a legible ad, chances are good they will care enough to give the client a good experience.

I think you are correct. I believe an apostrophe to separate a numeral from a letter has become commonplace because it is simply easier on the eyes. It is not meant to denote possession -- just set them apart.

You only deserve to be hated on if you're dealing with someone who is not a native English speaker. If that's the case, and you don't speak, read and write multiple languages perfectly, then you deserve a little snark.

 

If they are a native speaker, your example seems to denote a lack of education more than a lack of attention to detail -- at least to me. Personally, I'm much more concerned about a provider's looks and services, but if poor writing skills are on your list of important things... it's your list and you can have anything you want on it. (And yes I know that was not the proper use of ellipses, but it has become a common usage. )

English, is of course my first language, however, I lived in Latin American for enough years that I am almost as comfortable in Spanish as in English. Furthermore I taught high school Spanish for many years. So much for background information.

I have no problem with guys writing choppy copy who don't speak English as their first language.

I hope OP never visits Bangkok, because when he does his inevitable mispronunciations and lack of intonation will leave him stranded at some point. A couple of comments:

 

1. I've read and re-read the various posts in the thread and don't see any evidence supporting the notion that the escort in question is a non-native English speaker.
   
2. Let's give non-native English speakers credit for being able to construct sentences in their own language and for having the ability to apply those principles to a language other than their own. We are not talking about awkward vocabulary, reversed subject/predicate order, or mismatched case. The wording sounds like it came from someone who is high, drunk, or is suffering the effects of long-term drug use.
   
3. Would those who are criticizing the OP support him if he declared that he was visiting a non-English speaking country and would not make an attempt to correctly write/speak the language or would they criticize him for expecting the non-English speaking country to abide by his crappy usage (or non-usage)? I didn’t mean that other languages have symbols which resemble our punctuation. Odd punctuation seems to appear, at least for me, when I cut and paste or copy from app to app.
