We have been texting last night and he gave me his Instagram address and told me the area where he works as a server in NJ. I think I will go for him. He seems like a nice young man who wants to make extra money. I told him I will post his first review so people would know he is legit.

So guys, I am taking the chance and hope I’m not making a huge mistake. I like this young man and I want to help him make some money. I just pray to God nothing bad will happen to me. :)

Dude, loosen up.

What you worry about (an escort being a cop) just doesn't happen. It is unheard of.

You are making things up in your mind. I have been hiring in NY since I got here, including several unreviewed guys. No one else but you worries about this.

It is clearly spelled in the FAQ (last time I read them a couple of months ago) that the site will turn into charging to the escorts in some moment. It is a common business model in start ups, you start offering a service for free, in the process adjusting your site to your market needs, and once you grew enough you start monetizing.

So dear friends from Rentboy.pro, let's be completely honest and share that the volunteer and vocational work is just the beginning, the site will become a commercial enterprise.

This!

It is a totally understandable and respectable business model to operate this way. What would not be understandable, and in fact would give me serious concerns about trusting the site, would be presenting the site as if there are no plans to monetize the site in the future if everyone knows it will likely happen.

@Boomxyz has given the impression of "always free" in this thread. What we don't know is if it is totally genuine, or if there is the above "catch." So, maybe let's just ask directly. Do you really mean "always free" or do you just mean "free for now"? If the latter, we are still on board, just maybe consider dialing back your rhetoric a little.

Now it makes sense.

I knew the answer I got could not be correct unless there was some rich benefactor who opened the site solely for goodwill purposes.

Thanks for posting this clarification.

Color me dumb!

As stated above, "the site is not commercial, we don’t charge guys for ads, we don’t sell anything, do not sell even advertisement. We do not collect any personal information. No need to create a client profile on Rentboy.pro and send your e-mail to us. Just enjoy your privacy, browse the guys and contact them directly via their phone numbers."

How can the site stay in business?

Unless there exists a benefactor who generously donates money to keep the site going, how are the site's employees and other expenses paid to run the site?

Just a curious person who works in the business world that is not familiar with the described type business model.

I assume it is an Startup. They will eventually offer some sort of service for cost but they need to fine tune their marketing to deliver a product for which others will pay. Until they feel comfortable that their goals can be met, they will probably remain free. This makes good business sense to me. Hell, I would like to be one of their secret shoppers. ;)

We all work volunteeraly, I don’t get anything except new creative experience. We have been having an investor previously who had a business-plan, but he didn’t get alone with my so called CEO and friend who was “infected” by that idee fixe to build an escort paradise.

I think you are moving in the right direction. I think as you adapt based on feedback that you will eventually have a good product for marketing. Like any new business you need to adapt and change and make a niche for yourself that bests the existing products.

I think it's a bit oxymoronic to label a completely free, non-commercial service as .pro

I guess maybe you're thinking it's the rent boys who are pros?

I've had words (very nice ones) with one of the guys who run the site. I don't feel that there's monkey business going on. I think it's legit. It's new, so there's gonna be some bumps and not everything is going to be perfect out of the gate. Give the site time and a chance.

Hugs,

Greg

Greg I think highly of you and trust your judgement. You have been an honest and straightforward contributor to this site as long as I have been a member.

However this whole thread has given me pause about the site. Boomxyz the apparent spokesman for this site has given very (in my opinion) disingenuous responses about the way this site is going to be a business.

I call BS on his responses about how they are doing this as a hobby.

Just the website alone has to be costing a fairly large sum of money. The hosting, coding etc and to hear they have a number of employees gives additional pause. This is not a free venture and I’m sorry who is going to go to the trouble to do all that work if they aren’t at least going to break even.

So what is it Boomxyz a business or a hobby? Just be honest about it. If your going to have ads and charge at some point. That is fine but don’t try to BS you way around the subject like a politician and pretend your doing this out of the kindness of your heart.

There is Something fishy about your behavior and it makes your site seem fishy

I am learning more info as this thread progress. @Boomxyz is being honest, as much as he can. There has been a departure from the team who started the project. The partners still on board have different visions about the future of the website. The apparent contradictions in @Boomxyz posts have to do with that.
