Ok supposin' you politely turn a guy down because he's too expensive, expecting it to end there, and he comes back with a lower rate - you accept and the meeting goes really well. You want to hire the guy again. Do you assume the lower rate applies for any followup meetings? Do you ask him? Do you pay the higher rate (assuming you think he's worth it)? All three options seem to have drawbacks to me. Any ideas?

When I am happy with a first timer, I discuss my interest in becoming regulars by the end of the meeting. Part of the discussion is to be grandfathered at a rate I feel comfortable paying. I am not comfortable paying 300. I would discuss this whether or not we bargained before.

I said thank you for taking the time and I appreciated the response but price is too steep. I figured no big deal. I would just move on. The provider came back with a counter offer which was considerably less

It's also possible he's testing to see if he can pull in more than the local rate. From a business perspective it makes sense to make more for the same work. You may have gotten caught in him trying to raise his rates and realizing it may have been too much, and so he's changing his prices to see what he can get.

As a client, I'd rather have lower rates, but I can see an escort wanting to make the most he can.

And you didn't negotiate prices, he did.

Interesting, I contacted a local provider based on a daddy recommendation. I sent an email asking for their rate. The rate was much higher than the average for our area. Though the provider was attractive but no Wickedboy, I said thank you for taking the time and I appreciated the response but price is too steep. I figured no big deal. I would just move on. The provider came back with a counter offer which was considerably less. Just out of respect, I do not negotiate but also in my mind I am thinking I may get a cheaper service. To me the whole counter offer sets up a negative overtone, how do other clients feel when a provider negotiates a lower rate for their service in order to be hired? Have you found the service to be excellent?

I had almost the identical experience last week (wouldn't be surprised if it was the same provider), and I had the same reaction.

I kind of got the feeling that it was an innocent attempt at a selling technique: to make a high-end-of-average price seem like a really good deal. But it was hard to shake the feeling that the provider might not be as invested in it.

Maybe I’m naive but I wouldn’t rule him out just because he lowered his rate. As was said previously, he lowered his rate without you haggling. There were many negative reasons listed above. Maybe there are positive ones as well. Maybe it’s merely economics. Supply vs. demand.

I agree and he ended the conversation with something like "if you looking in the future let him know." For me, there are plenty of hot escorts out there for far less i.e. Wickedboy and Dominiking. I would rather give my money to those that are up front and offer the best price first and of course can kiss and suck in an awesome way. :p

I've had superb encounters with escorts who charge value rates-Dane Scott, Jake Walker, Metatop. Not to be missed, any of them.

Indeed. I paid 300 for Sean Xavier 3 years ago, when I would never pay more than 200, and do not regret. I payed 300 for Fabian recently, and I am happy I did. However I must say the prices usually discussed in here do not reflect my reality. I pay to my regulars a range between 70 and 250, being 200 the median. And if they are regulars, that means they are very satisfactory to me.

I can foresee the wave of PMs. You know who most of my regular are, but do not ask me how much I pay to each because that info is between them and me.

This is a difficult business to establish pricing for. Made a bit harder now that rent.men and m4rn.com aren't showing prices. You can look at the prices in reviews, but I take those with a grain of salt. As an escort, how do you determine how much other locals are charging? Do you call them up and ask? Do you ask clients who seem to hire around what they pay for others?

One of my old regulars told me a story of getting called to a session, for which he was billing $300-$400, and finding in the lobby the other escort, a new kid. This was my regular's first indication that it was a threesome deal. The kid said he was getting $100, and was excited he was getting so much. My regular talked to him a bit after the session about pricing.

The amount an escort can get depends on several factors: location, competition, services, attractiveness, etc. Even fame. It's a challenge to find what they can get out of the work they do, and keep enough business going to support themselves.

Gas stations (for example) display how much for a gallon of gas, the other stations can see if their prices are higher or lower and adjust as needed. Escorts seem to have a dark room and need to feel around to find what they can charge.

Or do the escorts have a secret webpage or union that tells them the rates of others?

I notice that more and more providers are giving their rates in the body of their profiles on RM , even though RM has stopped providing a field for it.
