I've had inconsistent experiences while bottoming.

Dick size doesn't seem to be the issue since I've had them really large and long without problems. I've met an escort on RM named ArabXL and I was able to take him.

There are times however when even average sized dicks cause pain, like hitting something inside. It's not during the penetration, but during the thrusting.

It has even happened where I had no pain with a well endowed escort, like VA Surfer-Micah, in one meeting, then experience pain in the next.

What could be going on?

A number of things could be going on:

  1. Your anus could be irritated from aggressive wiping or from eating spicy foods
  2. You could have a slight abrasion or tear in the lining of your rectum
  3. The top is being overly aggressive
  4. Your body is trying to tell you that it is not up for anal sex that day

Just take pain as a sign that you need to stop.

It doesn't feel like it's from wiping or from spicy foods. Otherwise I would feel it on the sides of the top's dick.

I feel it more towards the head, like it's hitting something. Could it be the curvature of my rectal tract?

I'd follow @liubit's advice and consult with your physician.

As was stated previously, professionals with large endowments tend to know how to use them if they're going to top. It requires some basic anatomical knowledge, patience, and charismatic empathy.

What position were you in when it was painful? Was the pain on every thrust? Sharp? Dull? As others have said, pain is an indication about something happening that is causing or may cause damage to your body if it continues. Tell the top about it and either pause or stop.

Positions and angle matter as much or more than proper prep, lube, etc. Also, keep in mind that you have smooth muscles and sphincters that are involved in anal sex and you have no conscious control over smooth muscle. You have to give your body time to relax and your body needs to feel comfortable, safe, and secure for it to unconsciously relax. You can use poppers if you want to chemically relax your smooth muscles, though check for the interactions because poppers are dangerous for people on heart meds.

Lastly, it's important to get checked out too because this might indicate something that needs medical attention.

I've been reading up on this. I've seen some articles naming some areas being hit during the thrusting like the prostate, the rectal wall, and even the sigmoid.

I'm trying to find some cross sectional drawings of what happens during anal sex but can't seem to find any.

I'm almost certain I've written about this before, but I'm too lazy to search the forums for my previous post.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_canal

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostate

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rectum

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigmoid_colon

The anatomy is roughly this:

- A typical human's anal canal is 2.5-4cm in length. That's 0.98-1.57in. This has an external sphincter which is under your voluntary control and an internal sphincter which is not under voluntary control.

- The anal canal leads to the rectum, which is 12cm in length for a typical human. That's 4.72in. That means the total "length" is 5.7in to 6.29in in a human before hitting the "back wall" of the rectum.

- In the rectum, just past the anal canal--roughly 1-2in inside--and on the anterior side (side closest to genitals) is the prostate. This is the "male g-spot." It can be very very sensitive, especially to direct repeated thrusts. If a top is repeatedly directly hitting a prostate, many bottoms will experience it as painful.

You should finger your prostate yourself to be familiar with its texture and how it responds to touch. Men over 50 generally need to get tested regularly for prostate cancer.

- I know you're asking now how do 10in cocks fit then?! Well, just after the rectum (which is the last bit of the large intestine) is the sigmoid colon. It looks kind of like a graphed sigmoid function and is 35-40cm in length. Which is 13.75-15.75in in length.

This is the "turn to the left comment someone made above because if the bottom is laying on their back, the sphincter between the rectum and sigmoid would be on the bottom's left. Alternatively, if the bottom is on all fours (doggie style) then the sigmoid colon would still be on their left, but it would also be the top's left too.

Care must be taken because it's completely possible to perforate the rectum or sigmoid, these are delicate tissues, and the surgeries to repair such tears are difficult and painful. Please remember, the anus, anal canal, rectum are for excreting solid waste. Care must be taken when shoving something into them. As a top and a bottom, I hope this all helps.

That's why I have never been one to look for a bigger one. I only bottom very occasionally so an average size is really OK with me. The top still has to know how to fuck but he is less apt to cause damage to things like the size. I am sure that I am missing out on some other things but am willing to give it up. In fact, when guys have taken it slow and we have connected I really, really enjoy myself. So far so have they.

Do you mean why they are now being made in grey or why they are being made at all?

I was replying to @Benjamin_Nicholas' giggles. :D

As in, I can't imagine why he'd "giggle like a small child" from the use of the word "depends" in this thread. Clearly, a humor fail on my part. As my daughter used to say sarcastically, "hashtag fail dad!" :(

Just take pain as a sign that you need to stop.

Also certain types of lube, quantity of lube and condom material can cause annoying/irritating friction that leads to "pain in the ass"~

Other contributing factors: Dick curve, fecal matter still in the anal canal, enlarged prostate and/or the penis bumping up again it... use of non-silicone toys that exude chemicals if not taken care of properly or old~
