I have a few pages and recently changed my settings just to be careful. I updated my pages in part because of the recent changes tumblr made to the default themes, ugh.

The default theme loads several other posts when bringing up one post to look at, etc. I hated it so I updated my themes (or tried). The other change I have yet to figure out a way around...some pages open up in a side column instead of a new tab/window.

While I was in dealing with those, I saw the option to lock down my pages just because I thought it better than not.

ps, pages are include,--

Longhair naked men (my fav), https://nakeddudeswithlonghair.tumblr.com/

Longhair men, hippies, free spirits, yogis, and other inspiration (just starting this one), https://artistic-and-edgy.tumblr.com/

Sexy models, actors, celebrities, and adult male stars. https://www.tumblr.com/blog/celebsmodels

General, if I like the pic, I reblog it here, https://myfavsplus.tumblr.com/

Guys with an edge (just restarting this one), https://dudeswithanedge.tumblr.com/

Default page, collection of sexy men, https://tqd-dqt.tumblr.com/

Tumblr purges a lot of adult oriented sites on a regular basis. It tends to happen to sites with a large number of followers. Some get purged multiple times. There are some posters who create backup sites just to be safe.

Now that the site is owned by Verizon its very likely changes will be in store for the adult oriented blogs.

I recently started reposting to my tumblr after leaving it dormant for a couple years. And, yes, the sensitive content thing is tricky. Even though I have all my settings (on both my laptop and my phone) set so the blog is marked explicit and adults-only and all that, they continue to ask me if some (not all) images are sensitive. Not sure if it's just glitchy or something about wanting to be sure I'm not a pornbot or something more nefarious. But dipping back into the tumblr pool, I'm reminded that it is a pretty efficient platform to curate one's free pleasures...

It happened to me as well, but when the message comes up, if you click it takes you to security settings. You have to turn OFF the privacy setting and everything will be back to normal.

but you need an account to do this, right? I haven't created a tumblr account yet, probably will soon.

My understanding is that since there has been a lot of criminal prosecution recently of sites like back page and rentboy that there has been a move towards holding corporations responsible for any child pornography or 'human trafficking activity' aka prostitution that happens on their websites - even if those sites are unaware of the content. Around the time I heard that was when I saw tumblr begin to shut down explicit content.

oh, tumblr .... i marked my tumblr as nsfw right from the start. i retumble stuff i like and i post some of my own stuff. a couple of times i've had them email me and tell me that they removed one of my videos, citing their policy of not hosting porn videos because it's too expensive. one of those videos they pulled for this violation was a video that was popular enough for their automated system to congratulate me for making such exciting content that their editors couldn't help but get excited about my content and want to promote it. i'm not sure what triggers their decision to pull videos - it's totally laughable that they present "we just don't want to host porn videos" argument. it's like they've never looked at their site.
