Hmmm. I've never been mesmerized by someone's profession or their looks or their celebrity. I haven't hired an escort since 2001. I was often in a state of mesmerization back in the early 70's but that was undergrad boredom at SIU and involved a certain hallucinogen.

Howdy. I too am surprised at how many people put BN on such a pedestal. He was really sweet and nice in the beginning, but he turned out to be really full of himself later on. I remember when he first started escorting in San Antonio he charged 200 for the entire evening (he was about 21 which would probably make him 25 or 26 now). He then quickly disappeared and was working some show at South Padre Island for a while (right about the time when an accident dropped part of the bridge into the ocean). He had a basic website where he showed pictures of him in various local productions (He was more famously known as Chikindakid then as some of you might remember). He even had a webcam and posted various webcam posts. He was also more well known as some sort of soccer kid too. When he resurfaced, he became BN that we all either love or hate.

 

Anyway, I agree with the people that say that he brought this all upon himself with his attitude. He has been less than cordial and even manipulative in some ways ever since chikindakid disappeared and BN emerged.

It's nice to see for once, this type of thread has been allowed to continue without a hissy fit request for it to be lock or obliterated in its entirety. If you don't want a less than favorable reaction to something, then don't post it or bring constant attention to yourself.

 

The adage "If you can't say something nice then say nothing at all", clearly isn't part of BN's lexicon if you've read his prior postings on this MC and in "15 minutes". Yet he readily attributes it to anyone who casts doubt on his true nature.

 

The sign of class is one who does not feel the flaunt it, both ones wealth and charitable work. The sign of someone with true self-confidence is one who does not feel the need to endlessly self promote and bring down others to make himself look good.

 

Maybe when the funds dry up and he's hoofing it on Greyhound, staying at Motel 6 and dining on Government chese and Top Raman, he'll see the error of his ways and appreciate those who are less fortunate.

 

Without our money he is nothing. With it he's a whiny, pretentious bitch. In the end it's your choice where you spend your money and how you spend your time. My advice..spend your money elsewhere.

One fact: had you not locked the thread, it certainly wouldn't have spawned all that it has. It would have gone away. One day, you may just learn your lesson.

In my 30-some-odd posts, I don't recall ever commenting on an escort... and I'm not sure *why* I am now. But a few reflections:

 

- Never spoken or met BN... wouldn't know him if he were sitting next to me.

 

- Judging from his reviews, he seems to satisfy his clients quite well.

 

- But he does seem annoyingly self-absorbed... to me. He does seem, rather crassly, I think, materialistic. His (projected) persona seems larger than the Graf Zeppelin. His blog is mindless fluff and, I think... unless I missed it, could, from time to time, be used as a "bully pulpit" to discuss issues of import to the gay community. (I frankly couldn't give a crap what the rooms at the Hotel d'Grande Coque in Glandsville look like or how expensive they are... or how he's outfitted his Concorde... OK, you get the point.) I, personally, find a bit of humility quite engaging... and, at times, sexy. Why the self-aggrandizement? I dunno. (Could guess, but to what end?)

 

- Do I like him... or rather his *persona* as he presents it? Not particularly.

 

- I guess, if one wants, one could engage a self-made 'god' for a romp. I personally prefer more grounded men... not boys with toys. I want a big dick, not a big ego.

 

Just my opinion... I'm still a bit new at this... not nearly experienced enough to be a 'Drama Queen' --- as I think I may have said before --- I'm just a 'Drama Duchess' so far.

I haven't had any contact with Benjamin for a long time. The last email went unanswered. At the beginning of his posting here, I enjoyed his posts. I've never met him in person. Probably never will. I never hire for more than 3 or 4 hours, and I believe he doesn't see clients for less than an overnight. I could be wrong on this, but I don't think so.

 

Back in 2002, when I had to put a beloved pet to sleep, Benjamin sent me a very thoughtful email and urged me to call him if I wanted to talk with someone about it. Kindnesses I always remember more than the other "stuff".

 

I must admit I always enjoyed hearing more about his involvement with the theatre, movies and books he liked, and things like that more than what appears to me to be a new version of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous". On the other hand, I can understand a young guy whose getting to see a lot of the world wanting to share that with someone. Folks who like BN will enjoy hearing about it, some who have no opinion of him may find it boring, and those who don't like BN will go ballistic, as we've seen.

 

If I made an announcement here today that I have terminal cancer and will be dead in a month, I'd bet dollars to donuts that someone would post their glee. That's ok. That's the nature of the beast. I've tangled with more than a few folks here, and I suspect that may happen again. That said, I don't let my participation here define the quality of my life experience. There are enough real life issues to contend with than to get one's panties in a wad about an online forum.

I am far from depressed, aside from food I have zero addictions and I have a large amount of control over the direction in my life. I made one post a few nights ago how I realized my poker playing wass getting out of hand, that being the first time in nearly 12 years so I am taking a break from poker. And me depressed, LOL. Sweet thing next time you're in town send me an email and lets get together for dinner (my treat) and then you can judge if I am depressed or not.
