Reminds me of how dangerous Bacardi 151 can be!!

when I turned 19 (the legal drinking age in my state at the time), a few frat bros took me out to get wasted.....was somewhat naive and all, but I let them have fun with me and buy me crazy drinks....at one point, the drink was something like a double tequila shot followed by what I thought (was told) was a water chaser or something....it turned out to be a large amount of Bacardi 151.....

threw up the next day at 8am, noon, and 4pm.....could barely go to class.....hangover lasted into the second day after......miserable stuff.....

I think we all have a spot from college we can visit to this day where the vomit hit the wall or at least the sidewalk...

The place I had my biggest drunk was a dive bar called Kay's in Houston, Texas. It closed last September. :( It was my 25th birthday celebration. Kay's featured $2 pitchers of Old Milwaukee. The drunk was caused by chugging 6 or 7 glasses in rapid succession. I prayed to Kay's porcelain g-d for probably over an hour, had to be carried out, and driven home in my own car. My main wish was that I could pass out. But I didn't. I think this happened on a Tuesday. I had a headache that lasted until at least Friday and basically skipped school until that following Monday. Thank gosh I didn't have any tests.

My first legal drinking in CT was when I turned 21 my senior year in college. The guys took me to a newly opened pizza place about a half hour away called Shakey's. We obviously all had to show our ID's and because it was my birthday as a "prize" I got a 45 record (remember those!) of the Shakey's Pizza song. Of course one guy who we nicknamed "Rock" because he was better looking than Rock Hudson (who we all thought was straight in those days) had a phony ID. Of course I was not playing on the right team back then, but I did know that "Rock" was "good looking" and that got me to question things... but that's another story! I actually kept things down that night, but not so on a return engagement where I had a @Gar1eth -like experience! Not quite as bad, but bad enough.

I really thought that Shakey's had gone totally out of business, but just read that they still have about 50 locations mainly in California though at one time there were over 500 nation wide.

Within the last 10 years there were two in the Seattle suburbs. But one has closed. However neither one did/does the buffet, so I've never gone.

As for my debauch, I wouldn't be surprised if I spent 2 hours praying.

Reminds me of how dangerous Bacardi 151 can be!! Nice floater on a mai tai!

Best Mai Tai I ever had was at the Halekulani made with 151. Had 2, and could barely walk out of the place. 2nd best, at Four Seasons Maui. No 151, but other good stuff, poured over an ice ball, with a raspberry whip topping.

I had my 13th birthday at a Shakey's Pizza in Michigan. "They serve fun at Shakey's, also pizza!" I wonder if it's the same chain. They've been gone from Michigan for a loooooong time.

The Fraternity that I had pledged (but never joined) had a Booze Run. I bought a bottle of Tequila. That night, I had:

  • Four ounces of Tequila
  • Eight ounces of Vodka
  • An ounce of Southern Comfort

The vomit was all the way down the back wall from the 4th floor. I didn't touch another drop until New Year's Eve, when my Host's Parents (I was 18) gave me a drink as I walked in the door.

I want me some of that Sapphire!

I hadn't noticed they were missing. They started in Sacramento. Now there's only one in northern California. They're mainly only in southern California now.

Eighteen fraternity members were charged in the death of a 19-year-old Pennsylvania State University student who fell multiple times after consuming toxic levels of alcohol — and whose own friends failed to get help for him for many hours, authorities said.

Y'all are lucky to be alive.

The first time I drove past one in LA I was stunned. I'd assumed they'd been gone for 20+ years.

The last time I remember going to one was about 6 years ago. It wasn't terribly far from Disneyland. I tried to find it again last time I was on my way to Disneyland two years ago. But I never saw it.
