speaking of Coca-Cola, I was just at Costco and they had actual bottles of Coke that were made in Mexico with pure cane sugar. I was with my mother and she said "let's get a case". (I do a monthly Costco trip with my mother to make sure she is fully stocked for food and other essentials and of course have to get stuff for myself.) Well, after chilling a few bottles I tried one and it was really good. It definitely tasted like Coke did when I was a little kid. Now back to the hot poolboy.......

I have a friend who loves the "old Coke" made with real cane sugar and not HFCS. For years, his "secret" source has been to buy the Kosher, made for Passover Coke which has always used cane sugar in place of a corn based product.

This is a cute ad. It's my first time seeing it, and my mind went to the same place as rvwnsd - it would be even better if dad were also somehow involved.

Yes, mom shrugs , the camera focuses on Poolboy who winks and we follow his gaze to Dad who is lounging by the pool in trunks with an empty Coke bottle in his hand. He winks back at PB with a little smirk, then tips his hat down over his face. Fade out.

As a kid, I remember drinking Coca Cola at the fountain counter at the 5 and dime (served over ice in a paper cone placed in a metal base). Then later, getting 10oz bottles out of a machine. It tasted great back then.

In business college, many years later, I learned how Coca-Cola is one of the most, if not the most, zealous protectors of their brand. So, I’m not a fan since last September when one of their bottlers or distributors teamed up with a Walmart down south and put up a display with cases of their product to resemble the World Trade Center to promote a sale. In my opinion, it was crass and disrespectful. Not a fan of Walmart either.
