Daddy Sez: "Originals will be saved."

I understand the changes he's proposing - I'm excited that he also wants to modernize the system in general.

One question I have - will the reviews also be archived somewhere in their original wording as well as being visible in their edited form? Or will the originals be lost forever?

It's been said before by other's many times and I'll say it again. Daddy provides us all with an invaluable service. Thank you Daddy for all you do, I personally don't know what I'd do without this site. I appreciate you keeping up with the times, but whatever you do, you have my, and I'm sure many others, respect and support.

Modernization and revision for the "brave new world" we live in is sensible. Codebases get clunky and encrusted as the years of patching and fixing go by. Cheers to Daddy for updating. I hope he's reviewing and improving his security too. His logs are likely highly valuable since they may contain things like the IP addresses of users; which allows the relationship between all of a user's posts and who they are since many ISPs basically assign an IP to a customer's physical address. That's why anonymizing VPNs are your friend.

Those of us who are able to do so, should donate something to Daddy. A site like this one takes considerable time and money to run.

Lastly, if "the bad guys" come for us, it'll be for political reasons. They'll want dirt or leverage on someone or a group of someones who have power, fame, or money that they can pressure by going after one or more escorts with connections to them. As the "big brother" state has grown over the last decade and will likely grow only more powerful, every client and escort should review their personal security and improve their locks as they see fit.

Keep in mind, any of us who explicitly discuss experiences involving criminal activities are making a "public" admission of guilt. That's generally admissible in most courts. Depending on where you live, the laws and statutes of limitation may vary. Educate your self and plan accordingly. But remember, none of us are secure against a nation-state such as the USA if its attention focuses on us. Such is the world we inhabit.

will someone kindly tell us how to donate? I tried to figure it out a few months ago but was unsuccessful; is it from the forum or from the review site?

The link is on the review site, https://www.daddysreviews.com/donate, and that's how I did it, banknotes in the mail. Others have discovered ways of donating by regular bank transfer (that I can't do from here) but I don't know what the details are. If I recall correctly, they were able so set up a monthly cheque from their banks to WinkWinkNodNod LLC, rather than an electronic transfer. No doubt someone else who has done so will chime in, or you could send a PM to Guy Fawkes and ask.

Seems to me that there's a great deal of TIME involved in editing. Perhaps one of the retired gentlemen, who are active on the forum would like to volunteer their services to help ?

I would happily volunteer but I am not sure what "editing" means. Won't the reviews stay in their original forms?

Editing 31K reviews is a huge undertaking ... It is a shame that in 2017 we are forced to self-censor!

I know! No explicit content is a big disadvantage for no good reason. It would be nice if the reviews could still be posted promptly though, at least with the comments "pending" and an option for the reviewer to state whether he can be contacted privately for more details. I often encourage potential clients to send a message to anyone who has reviewed me on rentmen and ask for some specifics of what I have to offer. Having only recently gotten involved in the forum and daddys reviews, it would be a shame to always have few reviews, compared to others who have been here a long time.

I know someone who could and would help, but I did not see anything saying that Daddy is looking at the possibility of looking for help.

Correct. Daddy wasn't asking. I was suggesting it would be nice for someone to offer. If I were retired, and had the time, I would gladly offer my own.

I agree. And since I know someone who would do it, maybe I will try to find out if that would make a significant difference.

My sense is that current systems would make it difficult for anyone who isn't Daddy to participate.

I would gladly pay a premium to have my reviews that are pending (now and in the future) be moved to the top of the stack and be reviewed before others. I bet that other escorts might follow suit.

That is an excellent point. My understanding is that the vast majority of visits to this site are for the reviews, and a tiny minority visits the forums. If the review sectionof this site will be on a hiatus for 3 to 6 months, that could very well be the kiss of death because there is no longer content/any motivation to come here. Think of the demise of the 'Muscleservice.com' forums. Granted it IS harder to gain access to them. But as soon as the real 'content' disappeared, so did the relevance of that site. The very same thing could happen here.

My advice: 3-6 months is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to long.

I'm also curious to know how much of a current backlog there is with pending reviews. I posted a review back in November that I don't think has made it online yet. Not complaining, just curious.

I would be in.

I don't think that Daddy takes payments from escorts, nor should he. There's a reason Consumer Reports doesn't accept outside advertising. Have you considered donating just because this site valuable, with no expectation of quid pro quo?

Why shouldn't he accept payments from escorts? I'm not paying to get good reviews - clients decide how to review me.

I would send some cash in the mail... but didn't you just say "I don't think that Daddy takes payments from escorts."

Am I missing something, or you just mean that he only accepts donations?

I do think it discourages participation in the forum by any escort who has not already been involved for a long period of time. Every time something I say here causes a potential client to be interested enough to look at my reviews, no matter how long I participate, what's he gonna to say to himself? "Hmmm... If he's been participating so much and is so great why so few reviews compared to ______ ?" Meanwhile, I have about 20 (recent) five star reviews on rentmen, but rentmen reviews are not given much credibility.

A donation to the site expects nothing in return. Payment for any type of special treatment, even if simply bumping one's reviews, might suggest the appearance of favoritism. Reviews on (yech) M4RN are beyond useless and Rentmen's review process has repeatedly been called into question. An unbiased review site does best with a firewall between revenues and those being reviewed.

It's hard to talk about the idea of making a donation just because the site is valuable while the issue is that it becomes less valuable without reviews. I think @OliverSaks is making a valid and genuine suggestion. Whether it is ultimately the right way to do it is something I cannot speak to though.

Correct. And it's the primary reason Daddy (and Hooboy before him) has never considered carrying escort advertising.
