Hey all,

Happy New Year!

Unfortunately, I can't be at the DC luncheon as I'm traveling West to dry up and thaw out for a few days.

In the thread about the luncheon, someone was wondering whether or not there was a NYC meet-up.

If there's enough interest, I'm happy to organize a meet-up/mixer in the West Village or Chelsea.

There's a lot of us out here. Would be awesome to meet a few of you folks and make friends IRL without the mania of attending something like Hustlaball or Black Party. Great parties and I'm glad they exist I just think it would be in the best interest of some folks that operate on a more laid back frequency.

Give it a like or reply if you're interested, want to help coordinate, or have ideas on what you think the meet up should look like.

Thanks for taking the lead. If you do this, make a solid date, place, time and announce it. Seems asking for opinions on it here in the forum leads to major clusterfuckness. ;)

I would be interested, I can't help with planning, and you're better off making plans and announcing them than trying to do the planning in the forum. (Which also has privacy drawbacks.)

One downside of after work drinks is space, finding each other and the possibility of overwhelming the chosen venue. If at all possible, reserve a reasonably-sized private room or set up something more formal like a weekend lunch.

How many people do you think will show up? 1o at the most? That would not overwhelm any NY bar. I never had a problem finding forum members at Club 20 back in the day. Making reservations to get a room or a lunch is too complicated to plan - you just don't know how many people will really show up. And it may require an upfront payment by the organizers. I am against that idea.
