In recent years I’ve spent a week in each, late February in Palm Springs and early July in Provincetown. I loved both, but for vacations I would recommend PT first. Principally because nearly everything, bars, restaurants, galleries are concentrated in the same area and can be reached on foot. I stayed with friends in Palm Springs and they showed me the sights by car. However if I had the choose which town to live in, I’d opt for Palm Springs because of the weather.

Three years ago I took a Gay Sail (gaysail.com) cruise in the Seychelles. It was a great way to see the islands and I enjoyed being part of a all gay “crew”. There were guys from US, Europe, Australia and Taiwan. Ages varied from 30’s to 60’s and everyone got on well. I’d recommend it.

I recommend Dayuse and have used it several times in NYC. I’ve used a couple of Hilton’s close to mid town. I usually take the room for 5 hours for a 3 hour session with an escort. Earlier this year one of my regulars was going through a tough patch and asked if I could lend him some money. He proposed to pay it back by monthly instalments. I agreed to lend him the money, but suggested that instead of him repaying me, I have a credit which could be reduced per future visit until the debt has been paid off. He agreed and we subsequently met up twice, significantly reducing the amount owing. Then the virus struck and it will now be some time until we can meet again in person, but I am confident that the debt will be paid in full eventually. Barolo, I guess it depends on how much confidence you have in the guy.

I saw Agrippina last night and loved it. The singing, acting and choreography were all great. I’m glad I got to see Joyce diDonato whose voice is wonderful. Only one word of caution, be ready for a late night. It started at 8 and finished after 11.30.

I visited the Seychelles in 2018. I spent a week in the capital Victoria and a week on a gay sail cruise. The week in Victoria was plenty. I saw most of the main island by public transport and while it’s pretty, there’s not much to do but look at the scenery. There was very little nightlife and no sign of any gay community. However the gay sail was terrific. There were two catamarans, each with about 10 men on board and we’d sail in tandem and meet up on shore for dinner in the evenings. The islands were picture postcard perfect and I had a great time.

I recently went to the Eagle bar in NYC on one of their jockstrap nights. It was only after I’d stripped down that I realised that the only place to put my money was in my shoe. Taking a shoe off to pay the barman wasn’t the best look! I later saw socks with a pocket in them for sale and have bought a pair in anticipation of my next visit.

I’m in Perth where the pickings are pretty slim. Do as the others suggested and check rentmen and rentboy Australia as we do get visiting escorts who advertise on those sites. As for venues, there’s also not much choice. The Court hotel which touts itself as a gay bar attracts a predominately straight crowd, especially on the weekends. There is one gay nightclub called Connections, which I believe is still popular, however it’s been decades since I last went there. We do however have a gay nude beach at Swanbourne and since the weather is warming up here, might be worth a visit when you’re here.

I’ve booked the Holiday Inn Express at 232 West 29th Street a few times via the Dayuse App. From 10am to 5pm the cost, including taxes was about $117. No card needed for the elevator. Just text your room number to your guest after you check in and he can come directly to your room. The room was more than adequate.

I can’t report on the Dick Dock, but I was in Provincetown during the July 4 week this year and the town was packed. There were gay men of every age and type. Everyone was friendly and I had a great time. Can’t wait to go back.

I didn’t request a face pic of him, nor did he request one of me. He would have had no idea of what I looked like until we met.
