You can also just log out and forget about it.

@MikeyGMin thank you but log out is not the same with delete. So basically there is no way to delete my profile. This is quite annoying...

You could delete all your posts, clear out all the info in your profile, then ask them to disable your account. That seems pretty close to deleting your profile.

Someone (I would rather not mention) deleted all his posts but he couldn't delete the posts where he was quoted, and the threads that he started, he simply edited them and posted ? on all of them yet his name was still visible as the OP of those threads.

Many things I have trouble understanding. This is one of them. Of course it's not required that I understand, but you, like all the rest of us, are pretty anonymous on here not to mention that while you've been a member since 4/2012, you've only made 48 posts here. So it's not like you are over-exposed. I'd think if you want to leave the sandbox and have nothing further to do with us, all you'd have to do is #1-quit posting and #2- select the profile settings that prevent your profile from being looked which makes it much more difficult for members to search threads you've started or responses you've made, and #3 disallow 'private messages'.

If you're really paranoid about somehow being linked to the board, create a new throwaway email account and link that one to your profile here before deleting everything. Then abandon that email account.

I'm certain that the incoming administration is going to embolden opponents of many social media sites, but the opponents are also subject to legal restrictions.

 

I'm confident that the moderators for this site are being vigilant for any impending threats to this site and/or its subscribers, as has been conveyed in Daddy's message to us on the reviews page--"I've been giving it a lot of thought the last few weeks because of the drama that erupted from the most derisive political contests I've ever seen in my lifetime. As I enter my annual vacation time, I have some serious decisions that I need to make about the site. If it were just me, that would be easy. Is all this erstwhile panic based on anything but conjecture? It reminds me of the banal predictions at the start of Obama's first term. While it wasn't optimum-- the world didn't end either. Trump is not a moralist and I don't think he will let his surrogates get distracted with silly things about sexual mores-- hell he'd tweet out pussy if he could. He just doesn't care!

Y'all are missing some context. I don't think this has anything to do with security, heightened sense of threat, or anything along those lines. The OP was called out for what appeared to be a string of snarky remarks about escort's looks. That led to a foot-stomping "I'm through with you people!" post and I believe he is simply trying to execute on that. I wouldn't read anything else into it.

We don't care. We still don't delete accounts.

 

And it's to protect you. If we delete your account, there's nothing preventing someone from creating the same account name to impersonate you.

 

Given some of the deplorable behavior we've observed here over the last 15 years we're just not having it.
