These "in house" Reality shows are dragged out on air for a full season, but IN reality they oft only have a two week shooting schedule. They shoot every day it's doesn't take that long, the post EDITING does lol. (you knoe, they make someone eating someone elses last yogurt seem like a knife fight happens next week etc) So it's not like any huge time committment is neccessary. (shows like "housewives" etc where they live at home and go about their (unscripted lol) lives does req a way longer committment. And guys on THIS kind of show (and on LOGO) ain't making anything to sing about lol prolly not much more than a diligent cam model can make.

Whatever the reasoning, it takes a certain TYPE of personality to commit to something like this. Obviously it takes a person that likes attention and being in the spotlight. They feel its some stepping stone to success. Most go back into oblivion. A select few are cursed with a life of spin-offs.

I have to say, it feels to me that the show's editors have lost track of the gay audience. While a little bit of drama is expected from these shows, we're not really seeing must of the one on one dates.

And how do you put 13 gay guys in one house who are each "looking for love" and not have someone falling for one of the other contestants rather than the prince?

P.S. My DVR is programmed to capture this week's episode.

Then PLEASE wait a few days before you watch lol!!! Ratings-wise cable companies ONLY report DVR'd shows that are watched within 48 hrs. If the #'s wind up being good then we've NO ONE but ourselves to blame when more gay drek like this comes along o_O Shows like this are why they hate us lol.

I don't believe that. If they already hate Gay, then a show like this may reinforce their beliefs and further their ideas of stereotypes, but any rational person knows that all Gays are not prancing, flaming caricatures, and not any more focused on SEX then their hetero brethren.

I'm not sure how many dyed-in-the-wool gay haters could stand to watch the show for very long anyway.

MANY ppl even NON haters glean their impressions of those who are foreign to them from Reality TV. "Rational" is not a word I'd apply. I'm not a hater BUT I grew up in NYC and when I hear negative words like Southern White Trash or hear about people who sit in boats with guns beers and hunting hats, "I" (irrationally) think Honey BooBoo and Duck Dynasty because I don't KNOW any actual ppl like that.

I agree with you here Tonyko but its really hard to change a persons impression. I find it hard to believe in these times that ANY person living anywhere doesn't know or hasn't met a GAY person. Television takes creative license in creating "characters", so yes, people may develop their impressions from what they see. You cant and wont control that. My impression of Real Housewives is they are plastic, narcisstic and selfish, whether they are from the OC or Atlanta, yet I have never actually met an extremely rich , idle and self-absorbed haus frau.... Come to think of it, I am probably a REAL housewife ? :p

LOL maybe you ARE lol! I just think we tend to forget HOW big this country is. I grew up with gay cousins my Granparents never left their Lower East Side tenament neighborhood n my Grams best friend n neighbor was a transvestite ( I say that and not Drag Queen because (Albert) would sit in her kitchen with her in a housecoat and no make-up with those silver bobby pin clips in his hair lol) and it was tots normal to US. But I think there ARE ppl in this country who don't know (or KNOW they know lol) a gay person.

You're right but that's also the point. Why put on the stereotypes that reinforce what people think? Why not cast the show with real, regular, normal gay guys so that some people could see that? I mean ... there's not a single normal guy on that show. They're all freaky.

Yup, they're freaky, and all over the top, BUT we all know guys like that. Producers feel that a regular gay guy, tan chinos, t-shirt, loafers, buzz cut would simply be a boring show. Their goal is to ENTERTAIN, not change the world. (and get Ratings) . Even the flamboyant Gay guys in Million dollar listing NY and LA keep that show interesting....

Many of them looked at least like normal/average gay men and not models... take a look.

The Schlubby ones got the boot early on because they weren't "pretty boy" enuf for the Prince, who obviously has very high standards for whom he will anoint with his "large scepter".

Ca' mon :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: If ERIC eyed and walked towards US in a bar we'd use that gun to shoot anyone who stepped in the way :cool::cool: The guy's beautiful.

If you like that Abercrombe type, I suppose so. In bars, I only shoot guys who grab for the peanuts and pretzels before I do....

I did watch the silly show tonight. Figured I would go back to my earlier post to see what I guessed right and guessed wrong. I mean... none of us take this show all that seriously, but we might as well have fun with it.

Robby is doing the most narration. Generally these contestants don't make it to the end. He is the Funny Man with the spray tan and so forth. Sort of your "Greek Chorus".

Definitely "friend zone". Both Robby and Robert confirm this on screen. These two look as compatible as Paul Lynde and Vincent Price. Because the producers find him too amusing to dump yet, Robert must keep him until he finds his "serious" side.

With Justin, I am getting the "friend" vibe, but you need to keep one or two to take to the top 3.

The only reason he is still on the show is because, like Robby, he is constantly talking, talking, talking... and they need narrators to keep the storyline going. Justin really didn't do much this episode.

Paul is a key front runner. I guess at this point, with three episodes down, I would flip a coin between him and Chad as the "final 1".

Not any more. Boy, did I screw that one up! I think Robby spelled his doom by saying Paul is "boring" despite his sad, sad backstory. Robert thought he was too "perfect" and couldn't relax. I, on the other hand, actually found his gym scenes hilarious, saying he only trained to make certain body parts "look good". Not because he's an athlete. Ha ha! I wish they kept him longer.

Brandon, Dillon and Eric are getting roughly the same amount of screen time and each has "a story", but none as important as Paul. One of these could be a finalist who is "under the radar" though.

Dillon got plenty of screen time, but I am not getting much "ooomph" here. The other two were on mini-dates as "main course" and "desert", which didn't give us much material to work with. Their mouths were too full of food, so there wasn't much tongue action of the other kind.

Something definitely is going on with Chad, but I am not sure what it is exactly. Is more happening between him and Robert than the editors want us to see? Or he is falling in love with a fellow contestant and they want the viewers to find out the same time Robert does? I can't figure him out, but there is more lop 'n' chop in the editing when he is around.

... and the lop 'n' chop continues. With Paul gone, I guess my coin has been flipped. Note how he is not getting any solo dates just yet. They need to drag this show on as long as possible showing Robert with the guys he's less interested in first. Note too how Lance "Harrison" never brings Chad up in their chit-chats before the rose ceremony, excuse me, tie ceremony. What also cracks me up is how Chad is constantly crying during each ceremony. Don't even ask me what all of THAT is about.

I went back to episode one and re-watched some bits. Chad was the one with #flexible, which prompted the line from Robert "Who doesn't like a guy who's flexible? Come on." The way Robert drooled over Chad climbing the ropes made me think he was hoping a jungle gym will be installed in the Fantasy Suite.

His "appetizer, main course and dessert" kisses were like he was kissing his Granny.... This man has no passion. Although they are trying to present the Prince as a macho "Top", he and his suitors all seem like a bunch of "belly floppers" to me.... Not a man in sight. So will his lady in waiting be "monkey" Chad or "pretty eyes" Eric ? He has to find Love for about 3 months until he announces his split from his lady due to "conflicting work schedules, distance, or irreconcilable differences ".....

I am not seeing "IT" between him and Pretty Eyes. The whole point of Pretty Eyes being there was to create drama with Monkey in episode 2 so that viewers would question if he was there "for the right reasons". Pretty Eyes and a few others may have seen The Connection early on and felt Monkey was a threat. That is why the producers are not giving him any solo dates with Robert until later in the season and had that silly business of him "packing" his bags as if he wanted to leave. S-C-R-I-P-T-E-D, I tell ya! When Monkey questioned Pretty Eyes about the accusation that he was "coming on" to him, Pretty Eyes did make my skin crawl with his slithery authoritative tone: "Noooh. Chad, I am beginning to think yoooou are (out of your f**king mind)... "

Not that Pretty Eyes is necessarily shallow, although the way he talks sounds shallow. He did open up about his "coming out" experiences and some of his family problems. Yet he seems to be doing what the handlers/interviewers behind the camera are telling him.

There is one positive difference between this show and the hetero shows The Bachelor & company that I should toss out here, though. Most of the contestants on those ABC shows are clearly there for their 15 minutes of fame, while just a few are looking for L-U-V. On this show, there are a couple looking for 15 minutes of fame, but a couple more are also trying to make a "statement". Paul, Justin and Brandon, in particular, seem to want to present a "gays are just as normal as everybody else" image and this show is some sort of progressive sociological statement to them. After all, it has been well over a decade since Boy Meets Boy. We here can all ridicule this show and Robert (for his cardboard personality, his escort past, etc. etc.), but a huge slice of the American TV audience still refuses to watch this show (including many on the Trump/Pence ticket), although they may actually like The Bachelor and Bachelorette. This is because gay guys are still "icky" to them. It doesn't matter if they think they are broad-minded, there are probably gasps of "ew" when Robert merely kisses his contestants. We see no sex going on at all on this show. Also no nudity like VH1's Dated Naked, which gets away with so much because that entire cast in strictly heterosexual (examples include all of those "nightcam" shots in bedrooms and that show's lead David doing "stuff" in the shower with more than one female contestant). These guys all act like chaste priests and monks on screen by comparison and this is the only way it can be televised with no controversy.

The show is pushing the envelope as much as it can, hoping to gain a bigger audience than just the GAY s... The point of these shows is to create drama and conflict, so hopefully you will keep tuning in to see the resolution. Each of the participants on ANY of these shows straight or gay is there for one thing and one thing only: "to further their OWN cause"... Maybe they'll get a commercial or endorsement deal, or be a judge on the Miss Universe Pageant ? Hopefully they'll make a few coins somewhere. Yes, there have been a handful of successful matchups that have resulted in marriage and children, so I am not totally jaded to the process.

But putting a bunch of "flamers" in a mansion with free booze should have resulted in a much more interesting and Sexy show..... But perhaps because they are all bottoms, the dynamic is a bit off ?. They just don't feel like "bumping pussies".... And how could they when they are so focused on finding the perfect outfit to wear with their Black Tie to the "Black Tie affair ?
