So I contacted this guy from Rentmen.com who claimed to be straight, top, clean cut, and he encouraged me to text him. When I did, he mentioned something about "popping an E" and "rolling one" which led me to believe he wasn't as "clean" as he seemed to be. He then asked for photos of me, and my dick (he used the word "cock" which is more readily used by gay men, not straight men) -- I'm not used to being grilled to this extent and it all sounded off to me. Is it commonplace for gay men to pretend to be straight/top to reel in clients?!? The whole experience sent off red flags right and left to me ....

You ever wonder how many dicks does a bi-curious man have to take up the ass before they're no longer curious?

I want this embroidered on a cushion!

I really haven't thought about it but is the word cock really more often used by gay men than straight men?

I would be reluctant to make distinctions on that basis too. One's personal observation may well be skewed. (Confirmation bias, among other things.)

I think the other thing that threw me is that he addressed me as "hun," an endearing term I wouldn't expect to hear from a straight guy... the bigger flag, though, was his seeming liberal use of recreational drugs which I would not expect of a straight muscle guy. The *biggest* flag was his wanting to know more and more about my appearance; not something I normally encounter with straight escorts.

Hmmm...the use of "hun" seems odd to me, too. However, use of recreational drugs is not limited to gay men. Plenty of straight guys use them, too.

Although both client and escort need to help each other feel comfy, i agree with @Jock123 that the escort is typically in a position to make booking feel friendly, informative and easy.

@SROSFanboy , I think for those of us who have been hiring for a while, our experience often manifests itself thru "gut instincts." Don't discount those feelings, actually tune in carefully. In cases like yours, I prefer to regret and be proven wrong about someone than risk it and not heed all the alarms going off in my head. Wishing you the best, -TR

The use of "hun" is a regional vernacular commonly associated with Baltimore, Maryland. I've heard it when visiting the city. It is not used that much anymore. When I hear its usage of late it tells me the person is a longtime native resident of the region.

I nominate this as Post of the Year 2016.

(That is if we had such a contest. )

I think there are escorts who call themselves straight because there are gays who have straight guy fantasies. It's a gimmick. Some might actually be straight, or at least straightish. That said, you should absolutely not pursue this flake any further.

This is what I always think. It's a brand that can attract a certain clientele, and it sometimes could be a disclaimer to signal he won't bottom, suck, kiss or similar restrictions.

It seems to me his drug use is more of an issue than his sexual orientation.

Our job as an escort is to make the client as comfortable as possible....He seems like alot of "Work" . Pass.

Thanks, "work" is indeed the keyword here, and it's beginning to be a lot of work, so based on that and my general level of unease with the whole situation, I think I will pass.

Maybe this is a tangent, but what struck me as odd is this guy asking you to send a pic of your cock. I just got that request for the first time from a guy I was interested in hiring. Too Weineresque for me -- never have, never will send a pic like that. When I refused, he said he was asking in case I was law enforcement. I think he was sincere in saying that. Is this a way working guys screen for cops?

Interesting... never even thought of that. I guess it makes sense, but it still struck me as rather weird, especially for a self-avowed straight guy...

I know that "hun" is part of the regional vernacular associated with Baltimore, as I have a handful of friends who hail from there. Still, I've never heard a straight guy from Baltimore address another man as "hun." Not saying it doesn't happen, but it just seems odd.
