With less than two weeks to go before “Dancing With the Stars” returns for its 23rd season, ABC has revealed the full cast of celebrity dancers and their pro partners.

After weeks of speculation, the network confirmed that Olympic gold medalists Ryan Lochte and Laurie Hernandez will be joining the reality competition. The star-studded cast also includes model-turned-talk-show-host Amber Rose, former Texas governor and presidential candidate Rick Perry, “Brady Bunch” star Maureen McCormick, and rapper Vanilla Ice. The entire cast was unveiled Tuesday on “Good Morning America.”

Rio police charged U.S. swimmer Lochte last week for filing a false robbery report over an incident that took place during the Olympics. Lochte admitted to “over-exaggerating” the story about being robbed at gunpoint. Lochte had initially claimed that he and three teammates — James Feigen, Jack Conger, and Gunnar Bentz — were robbed in a taxi by two men with guns and badges while heading to the Olympic Village on the morning of Aug. 14. But Brazilian police said the swimmers had instead vandalized a gas station bathroom and were confronted by armed security guards.

I'd be more excited about Vanilla Ice. He was so cute back in the day. Actually, he was even cuter just a couple years ago when I saw him in some movie.

Well, Greg Abbott, current joke of a Texas Governor, has actually done what I thought no one could ever do... made me miss Rick Perry :(

I will still probably root for Lochte... oh who am I kidding... I can't really stomach the show.

Frankly, I've barely recovered from the whole James Maslow/Peta thing several years back.

Before I met Kenny, I was seriously crushing on James. It seemed like him and Peta had something going, so I didn't think I had a chance.

Then it turned out he wasn't into Peta, I guess, and now she is in love with Max.

So I figured James had to be Gay, and I poured my heart out to him. It didn't help that he clearly responded to Internet appeals to love.

Needless to say, I was left heartbroken. For some strange reason, he rejected me. It took me over a year of therapy to recover my self esteem.

Dare I risk it all again and fall in love with Ryan?

Shall we call the new season of Dancing With The Stars, "The Freak Show". There are no movie star dancing this season, just all infamous trolls. Some of the so-called stars dancing:

Amber Rose, Ryan Lolochte, dwarf couple, Rick Perry, and more....

The first time I watched it, Dancing With The Stars had me at "dancing." I love dancing as art or sport, but also as a form of human expression and beauty. Consistent with my threads above, Dancing With The Stars has a tendency to uplift and honor people that many would label "freaks." That can include a gorgeous woman who lost her feet due to meningitis, or a not so gorgeous girl suffering from Down's Syndrome with a sweet crush on the handsome hunk from Big Time Rush. Their struggles and hopes speak to the humanity in us all.

Here's another example. I enjoyed Bristol Palin on DWTS, unlike many of my friends who couldn't help but see her as an untalented Tea Party write in. Granted, she was one of the more wooden dancers. And as much as I've never been a dance judge, I think it's fair to say she got further than she should have (# 3 for the whole season) based on dancing talent alone, perhaps based on Tea Party folks. And some of my interest in watching her was a little perverse: she had this innocent, dumb, "not ready for prime time" quality that helped me to understand what Sarah Palin might have been like before she learned to cover up her basic stupidity and ignorance with flash and charm. But that's the point: that it's about going beyond seeing these people, even the Palins and Perrys, as trolls or freaks or assholes. You could see Bristol develop, if only modestly, and sometimes she was just charming and endearing. And as Carrie Ann said in the video clip above, it is at some level about "calling us out" to be better - both the performers, as dancers, and all of us, as human beings.

Don't be surprised if we end up having a little more appreciations for some of these "trolls."

The thing I love about you the most....well, other than that......are your surprises. Everybody else is slamming DWTS 2016, and you come in with a positive approach. I can't decide if you are sweet or just perverse! Maybe, perversely sweet, or, my favorite, sweetly perverse.:D.

Thank you. I know I posted a lot of DWTS videos, but I was looking for an excuse to post this one, which the phrase you used above describes perfectly.

Here's another video of the same thing. The audio sucks, but this one includes the judges' reactions. Jump to minute 1:50 to get Bruno's reaction, and (not that you'd be interested) a real good view of James' perfect chest.

P.S. No offense Kenny or Bozo, but I still think James and I would have made a perfect couple.

cool to read your various posts, Steve.......can't tell if you're being utterly sincere at times, mockingly ironic, shrewdly hypocritical.....or just feeding us the biggest crock of bullshit......good for you!

And while I'm on a roll, one other thing, regarding the thread in The Deli about whether it's okay to be Gay and to not be attracted to, or openly express a lack of attraction to, members of any particular racial group.

I think DWTS has single-handedly settled that question for all time.

Thanks to them, with an assist from celebrities like James Maslow, William Levy, Carlos PenaVegas, and Antonio Brown, the judge's scores are now in. If you are attracted to all these men, you get a 9. If you would crawl over glass to have sex with all of them, you get a 10. If you are NOT attracted to any one of them, because of their race, it's time to turn your Gay Card in and go back to Sexual Finishing School.

Or all of the above, often in the same post and even at the same time.

Good point that DWTS, unlike other reality or competition sbows, is more about uplift (heh) and improvement and less about bitchy drama.
