As a performer or as a videographer? ;-)

 

I'm actually quite a fan of his still photography as well. There was a time when you couldn't pick up a copy of ADVOCATE MEN without at least one Bjorn spread in it.

 

I don't think he's ever made a bad video.

I think this is another one where IT DEPENDS is a very accurate answer. Some of the earlier films were solo works and the production values, camera work and cinematography improved after about his tenth film. Additionally, it also had a lot to do with the kind of men that appeal to the viewer. The first batch of films were nearly all South American men, some very dark skinned.

 

I think the production values when he started to do the Eastern European casts were still good, but the men were not as interesting nor where the sexual situations as "hot." Paradise Plantation is particularly good in this regard, as is Call of the Wild (Canadian men), Amazon Adventures is another favorite of mine and Anchor Hotel is probably at the top of my list as well.

Hands down, it's gotta be "Manley Beach." This is due, tho, to the first scene that featured Dex Brown. What a hunk! Standing there by a pine tree with no shirt, white jeans open to the knee, and his delicious cock bobbing in the wind. Yummy! Tough to beat a guy like that. OK, Maybe I did get a little carried away in my description, lol.

 

But the film really is magnificent....there is a thread of a plot (a lot to say when we are talking porn flicks) and when the 2 protagonists finally get together in the end, it really is a bit touching (as well as HOT as HELL!!!!!).

I gotta disagree with whoever spoke ill of the easter european film line, I found those best of all. But since the Australian ones are getting such high praise, I'll have to rent a couple of those.

 

His is the only porn (apart from an occassional, and unpredictable, Titan) I enjoy.

Carnival in Rio, not only because the men are hot and it's set in Rio, but because the Carnival parade featured in the film is the one I participated in, back in 1987! Of course, I didn't know it was going to become part of a legendary porn film!

The first three eastern european films I saw were Vampires of Budapest, Comrades In Arms and Hungry for Men. Frankly, the I thought the men, albeit muscular and attractive, were very generic and homegenic, particularly given the type and variety of men used by him in the Australian and Canadian movies, and particularly, given the type of men he used in with the South American movies.

 

Also, as many people have pointed out with Carnival in this thread, in his earlier movies, while technically good, the men were still attractive and built but not so nearly identical to one another. And with those movies, even when he was paying the models to have sex with one another, I personally felt there was a hotness and genuineness that I believe was evident in the three Eastern European movies I mention above. In those three movies, the gay for pay factor was just way to evident, at least in my opinion. I cannot speak for what he had done since then, since I have also taken to looking at Titan for movies I like, or sticking with older "tried and true" favorities. Frankly, my own personal taste runs to models in their 30s and while I so like naturally smooth guys, I also like body hair and simply variety, which seems more in evident in the early to 1990s films he did.
