I think $300 is too much for most guys and most especially a newbie. If you consider that an average fee was $150 to $180 in 2002....

 

And is $300 supposed to be average in California or NYC now? I feel very sad for clients who are just beginning to hire now. As fees are now, and considering they are only going to get higher, even if I were still hiring, I wouldn't be able to hire as often as I used to. How long before $400 is considered the norm, and two hours of play will be close to $1000?

 

I'm not going to lament for a so-called past Golden Age Of Hiring. But unless there are a lot of independently wealthy guys on this Forum, I doubt most salaries have increased as much over the last 14 years as escorts' rates have.

Well, if a new escort just perused Rentmen, he'd probably think starting at $300 (at least in SoCal) would be justified. It was pointed out above that this kid did do some porn for GayRoom, etc. that does add cachet to his marketing allure.

Sure there will always be clients who will pay. I'm just glad I started hiring when I did. If I were at the same point now that I was at 12 years ago (a total virgin who hadn't even experienced Fr. Kissing or been on a date and with only minimal acceptance of my sexuality and only willing to have sex with escorts), there's a good chance I might never have hired to begin with.

 

It was one thing for me to finally want my (virginity) cherry popped and to pay between $300 and $360 for a two hour 1st time experience. It would be an entirely different ball of wax if I were starting out now, and the fee for a comparable experience were $600 to $800. If that's what it took to play the first time I was looking, there's a good chance I would have said, "That's too rich for my blood," and would still be a virgin today.

 

As for your less advertised guys, I'm glad you have them. I would never have had the patience to sift through the chaff to find them. The thrill of the hunt is no thrill for me.
