I must add that my escorts and I were underwhelmed with the rooms at Helios in Palm Springs over Daddy's weekend in that fair city. Broken and missing floor tiles, no maid service for three days, broken closet door, ceiling fan that could not be turned off (brrrrr), mismatched, shabby furniture, sheets too small for the bed, broken window blinds. It was reasonably clean, and I got fresh towels from the office. The grounds are beautiful, but the place needs repairs!!! I admit I stayed there because of its risque reputation, but never again. Next year, I'll invite my escorts to some place nicer, and buy us day passes to Helios if we want a walk on the gritty side.

That's too bad! I know the Desert Eclipse has closed. Maybe business down.

Santiago was very nice last Sept. El Mirasol is a great bargain.

I don't care as long as it's clean. I stay in nice hotel rooms when I travel but wouldn't require that of someone else. In a recent meeting, the young guy had a bunch of his stuff out - not super messy but disheveled and I found it endearing. Not sure why - I guess it just added to the realness of the experience.

I am FAR more concerned about the cleanliness of the humans involved. The slightest funk and I'm singing limp bizkit hits.

I've seen escorts in all kinds of hotels except the really top of the line -- never had an escort who could afford that. In general, I don't really like the seedier hotels that make you worry about cleanliness. In NYC the rates are so high on good hotels, most guys coming for "business" stay in the mid-level Marriotts and that sort of place, which is fine for me.

I was a real hotel queen in the days I escort-traveled. In New York I hosted at the Intercontinental and in San Francisco I hosted from a giant suite with a fantastic balcony at the Fairmont. What the heck was I thinking? Stupid kid, spending 25% of my earnings on the hotel.

Check out DayUse.com. You can get a nice room for $100-120 that's yours for 6-8 hours during the late morning to late afternoon/evening. I haven't actually used it yet, but I'm gonna keep it in mind for my next trip to NYC.

Thanks for this info! This changes everything...

Looks like I can go to downtown Chicago on a Saturday and get a room from 9am-5pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton for $79. I had no idea day rentals were an option.

Isn't that where Matt Sizemore has his monthly bareback sex parties? For a while, you could tell what mainstream gay porn models were about to ditch the on-camera condoms by seeing the special guest star list for those things...

How many sex parties have you been to where a majority were wearing condoms for anal sex? From my experience, it's usually few, but no one is being forced, it's each individual's responsiblity to do what's right for them.

Yo...Pipe down.

I was not slamming BB---do it if it's your thing. What I was slamming was Matt Sizemore.

Does the quality of hotel matter when you're doing an outcall? I wonder if it would be off-putting if I'm staying at the Days Inn versus the Waldorf Astoria.

(I ask because I'm planning a trip. I don't want to stay downtown and there aren't any 5-star hotels in my neighborhood of choice - just 3-stars at best)

I think it really depends, so for example you can stay in a fancy hotel in downtown Chicago which is all nice and dandy but its not close to the gayborhood. If a client said they were staying at the Days Inn or Best Western in Boystown I can understand wanting to be close to the bars and bathhouses. However if the client said they were staying at a Motel 6 by the airport I would be a little suspect.

Where are you planning your trip to? I have been all over the country and I would be happy to recommend some of my favorite hotels.

Thanks! I've decided on Chicago! :) I've stayed downtown a couple of times and I want to stay in Boystown this time since I've never been there. The two hotels you mentioned seem like my best options, as well as City Suites Chicago. Just needed to check here first to see if those types of hotels were suitable for hosting..

I have stayed at all 3 and if you don't mind paying a little extra the best western on hawthorn (I think I spelled that right?) is your best bet location wise. The Days Inn is where I used to stay before I moved here because its pretty cheap and well located. City suits is okay its not great through, the rooms are VERY small. All 3 hotels would work for seeing an escort should you want to. There are lots of great escorts here in town feel free to pm me if you want any recommendations

Against whipped guy's advice, I have chosen the Days Inn Chicago, which actually looks nicer than most Days Inn properties. I understand the walls are thin, but I will try my hardest to be really quiet.

I don't make much noise, usually. ;)

I've stayed at that Days Inn a couple of times. Both my experiences were good. The rooms I had were on the small side but they were well decorated and felt they were clean. I've stayed at a couple other Days Inns around the country and the one your going to be at is by far the best. It isn't too far from the El but it is a walk, theres also a Trader Joes, a starbucks and Walgreens all near by. I dont think it's too far from Stans Donuts, one of a few super yum donut places in the city. Oh and its about a 30 min walk to Lincoln Park zoo! Hope you enjoy yourself in my most awesome glittery underpants city!

Hugs,

Greg

Fuck the thin walls. It is a hotel...moan at the top of your lungs, most regular hotel guests will expect (perhaps even crave) some exciting eavesdropping. Let that quiet mouse roar.

Well my personal Days Inn experience was quite a while ago which was a different place and at a different time. With sny luck they have decided to reinforce the walls since then. With any luck you won't have to climb up on a counter to adjust the air conditioning and there might actually be a sink in the bathroom instead of it being located in the main section of the room. And yes! That's the counter above which the air conditioning unit was located!

Not criticizing your choice, but I'm just further describing the room from my personal experience. However, since seaboy has actually stayed there and it gets his approval you most likely have made a correct decision. Plus, the area seems to be inviting to boot!

In any event I hope it all works well!!!!

PS: Mo.... don't be quiet! Make the room rock!!!!!!! ;) Heck you will be in a Day's Inn not the Ritz! Act appropriatly!!!!! Heck if you were at a Ritz Carlton I would give you the same advice! Perhaps the prim and proper guests who are inclined to stay there might learn a thing or two!

Bottom line go for it!!!!!!!!

My last Days Inn experience was in St Paul back in Oct. Augh it was not a nice looking place. For whatever reason the time I was there everything was either booked or just out of range on what I wanted to pay. It was dark out of the way and dingy. Not the ideal place to host at all. The only good thing is it was on the light rail line so it was a quick ride to the concert venue downtown and I was only booked one night.

Hugs,

Greg
