Great store, I've used them to help re-do my two walk in pantries. Yes they are more expensive than going to Lowe's and doing it yourself. ...

When adding shelving to my office I priced Container Store and Lowes. The Elfa shelving ended up costing less. I kid you not.

Ikea is a bit of a tourist attraction 'round these parts....parking lot is often packed on weekends.....have never been in a Container Store - just thought it was a bunch of plastic bins and pen holders for sale.....one just grand opened here and, with all the fuss about it here on the thread, I might have to drop in and pick up a gift certificate for Mike

holy jeez....just dropped into my local Container Store for the first time....definitely more than plastic storage bins in that place....the cashier, upon questioning, said it was started in Dallas in 1976 and there are about 85 stores now, all company-owned, he said....the goal is 300 by 2020, or something....

YES, the Container Store is imperative for saving all that shit you are ultimately gonna throw out . Once its in a Container, you never use it !

Thank you for saying this! I am in the process of purging items in said containers (especially the ones hiding beneath my bed). I'm holding onto piano scores even though I no longer have a piano.

That being said, I do love their selection of wrapping paper during the holiday season. It just makes me want to go out and buy things just so I can wrap them.

First time I ever saw Cody Cummings on his knees. Wish I was standing in from of him.

They have quite lovely shelving on which to display the items you are keeping. ;)

In all seriousness, I am purging too. It is actually quite fun. Now the gentlemen at Goodwill greet me as warmly as do the ladies at The Container Store. No hugging, though. Oh, no...NO HUGGING!!!

There used to be a store nearby (Detroit suburbs) called "Organized Living" (I think) but it closed years ago. I just checked http://www.containerstore.com/ and we're getting our first Michigan store in June, in the northwest suburbs.

They went out of business back in '06, supposedly after financing for a planned expansion did not come through. Guess who has opened in a couple of their West Coast locations.

I like your choice of equipping your kitchen better than my own choice. What store did you source this excellent example of a modern kitchen appliance.
