One of the things that causes blowups such as those afflicting the MF and Daddy, Guy Fawkes, et al. lately is an inability to let things one considers unfair go by. It is not necessary to respond to every post or argument. Some people are not worth arguing with, or even if they are, more arguing is not going to win any points or is not worth the time and psychic effort. Sometimes it's better to let the other person hang themselves by letting them have the last word. It's also better for one's mental health not to dwell on the negative, which is why, even though I'm aware of the existence of some of - maybe all of - the precipitating threads, I didn't read very much of them.

Also, whatever problems there are are bigger than one person, even though some people seem to have elected someone as the culprit whose absence will make everything better. (Full disclosure: he and I are friends.) This isn't to defend him unthinkingly. He's contributed to this mess, although in fairness some of the things people criticize him for have been done by others (not without criticism, either) and some of the things people have praised other escorts for, by name, he has done (and been noted for in a review) without to my recollection receiving any notice on the forum whatsoever. (And yes, it was something above and beyond that would not typically be done just to make him look good.)

Without naming names or getting into specifics, one of the precipitating factors for this mess made me angry and think seriously about whether making non-refundable arrangements to travel to Palm Springs was a good idea. I stand by my original decision, but I too am disappointed in some people.

The forum is what the participants make of it. While I agree with jjkirkwood that more transparency about what behavior is unacceptable and what isn't and why certain steps are being taken would be welcome, it's not our prerogative to make that call because it's not our site. However, I disagree that inflammatory threads should stay up. Sometimes threads need to be removed. Sometimes threads need to be locked.

For those of you who may dismiss this as self-serving: In the end, I'm for no one and everyone. I'm for this site staying active and moderated and for being as welcoming as it can be, within reason, and despite some disagreements over policy, I am glad this site exists and has been (as a site, not every post) welcoming to me.

I agree with you one hundred percent Ms. QTR! (Well maybe with a small caveat regarding Mr. Kirkwood's posts, since he definitely did his share of rabble-rousing back in the day, before many of you read this most excellent forum.)

Now I feel guilty. My posts in these thread do look (are) dramatic. Oh, my gosh, even that statement is! I'm a drama queen! (Leaves the scene dropping some feathers behind)

I couldn't resist, LatBear..

Well! I guess I am the only one here who had to Google what an "Oxford comma" is! Well I discovered that it's simply a more pretentious name for a "serial comma", is also known as the "Harvard comma" and is something that I always have endeavored to use. Well most of the time that is!

You weren't the only one...never heard of Oxford comma. I assumed when I used it, it was just some damn, old comma. hahaha. We learn something on here everyday.

Gee-where have you guys been? It's a somewhat frequent discussion on my Facebook feed-more humorous than not. I was taught it was optional, but my teachers (and I ) preferred it.

I thought it always cleared up ambiguity by using it although I mainly used it because it looked prettier:p

Wikipedia actually gives examples where the Oxford Comma introduces ambiguity.

Really Tigger, You use it because it looks 'prettier'? I love you. That's the best reason to use anything...... It's just prettier.

I certainly didn't mean to make anybody feel bad or strut my academic stuff (English and History being my worst subjects in school); it was a lame attempt to be funny (in an effort to defuse a tense topic) referencing a couple of threads inspired by a posting that Kevin Slater made in the friday funnies:

Oh no. You didn't make us feel bad. Anytime we can learn something.... maybe I learned about Oxford comma decades and decades ago but no memory ... it's still nice to refresh our minds....keep us on our toes.

I don't remember it being called the 'Oxford Comma' in high school. There we called it the more plebeian 'serial comma'. It's only in these latter days, I've seen it called the 'Oxford Comma'. Interestingly it's not the usual norm in the UK. Oxford is swimming against the tide as it were.

Moondance's picture didn't show up for me. So I'm repeating it here for those in like straits.

Funny it did not show up for me initially. Then it suddenly did. Could it be that those Tristan Baldwin inspired picture gremlins are at it again. This place is like a madhouse today. That's all we need!!!

Wow, I thought DYNASTY had gone off the air years ago, but apparently it is alive and well and living HERE ? And it seems that Alexis and Crystal are still working their dysfunctional magic... It was enough to make me post THIS, after not being on this site for over 2 years.

However, I still tend to disagree with Seaboys comment, and don't think its better to delete controversial threads and sweep issues under the carpet rather than discuss them. For me, that has always been one of this sites many shortcomings, and while many people were Thrilled to see me leave, I was more than thrilled to do so.... But this recent turn of events was so juicy I just had to raise a glass. Apparently, I wasn't the sole cause of this sites disruption, feuding and downfall, as was previously reported. Looks like even after 2+ years, theres still plenty of that going on, WITHOUT me...

IMHO its the feuds that get people to participate. you will often find a name you have never seen before appear with an opinion when a feud erupts. It makes the site interesting, and yes a bit volatile. Sorta like attempting a Trump rally.... Otherwise, much of the time, watching paint dry can be more entertaining than this site. If you notice, all of the people that say they "don't like the drama and the feuding" are smack in the middle of it with THAT comment alone. If they really didn't like the drama, they would simply ignore the thread and not contribute ANYTHING to it. But I suppose its their way of having their say and NOT having any fingers pointed at them. Fear of reprisal here from members certainly takes its toll on participation. And if you are going to participate, name names and events, and don't just cast aspersions or allude to the facts.

Facts are facts, and surely are relevant to an open, honest dialog. Making a comment like "I don't want to name names" is certainly more inflammatory than naming the damn name. If you want to be Switzerland, stay across the continenent. If you want to participate, do so in a way that is evident, decipherable and honest.

Damn good to see you posting again, for however long. We could all use a little dose of the truth around here, Don't be a stranger...

And that's all MsAnn has to say about this little fender bender.

Not to create a detour here, but I would be interested to know about being the provenance of BVB's latest avatar. Is that something derived from some ancient manuscript or possibly something of primordial, primeval, or prehistoric?

Lord...I honestly thought it was pic of two manatees. Honestly, that's what it looks like in my device.

While there may be those who enjoy the Drama. I think that the actions of Guy Fawkes, in adopting his new Persona, and in taking his hiatus has sent us a pretty clear message that He does not. He asked for more decorum after the demise of RB intimating that we were under scrutiny from outside. He has gifted us with this forum. There are others on the web, none of which hold a candle to this place. Guy Fawkes was going to blow up the Parliament, and our Guy Fawkes has the power to put an end to this place if he chooses. I would suggest that if you want to throw bombs, and gleefully stir turds into our community punch bowl you risk bringing this place to an end for us all.

Well I have had a special affinity for the "Guy" because he was tortured extensively prior to his execution on the personal orders of King James. However, I see the connection that this place might be totally blown to kingdom come if we all don't get our act together. Actually I do mean ALL of us, and think about that!

Oh-silly concrete thinking me. While I know about Guy. I had no idea what it represented in terms of this Forum. I thought maybe the person in question was expressing a sudden affinity for Bonfire Night

A gift is one thing B2B, and SHOULD be appreciated, but holding a gift over ones head is not cool, and threatening to stuff pizza down members throats if they dont follow the rules borders on dictatorial. I DO respect Daddy/Guy F for his unwavering dedication to this site, but have to wonder if it isnt just a bit self-serving. It does not diminish the fact that he has proved this community a valuable service, and I have to congratulate an endeavor that turned into a Win/Win.....
