In so much as I consider theatre one of the arts....yes it's "art".

 

It's not particularly GREAT art.....but that's not what you asked...grin

I like it because of the long space of time between the two paintings. Very different painters but somehow it works, at least for me.

 

Most of all, it serves as a good break about half way through a museum!

The San Diego Museum of Art holds an annual fundraiser called "Art Alive." Paintings from the permanent collection are interpreted in flowers.

The museum is somewhat "meh" but that event is just spectacular.

In this case, I don't really think it's art. It's simply imitation.
