Dad-of-two convinced he was pregnant after gay sex

A 52-year-old man was hospitalized by a psychiatrist when he insisted he was pregnant with a child after having gay sex. The unnamed man, from Kozhikode in India, who holds a post-graduate degree and is a father of two children, told physicians he was suffering stomach pains and could feel the baby moving inside, according to the Times of India.

 

Dr. PN Suresh Kumar of the KMCT Educational Institution says that there didn't seem to be any gender identity disorders and test results came back normal, despite the delusion which the patient's doctor said started six months ago.

 

This is the first case of its kind Dr. Kumar has seen. "Usually, we see couvade syndrome [otherwise known as sympathetic pregnancy] in some dads-to-be who show symptoms of pregnancy (like nausea, weight gain or sleep problems) when their partners get pregnant."

After I posted my previous *see below comment* , I just realized, more then likely in an Asian culture, being a top isn't so bad, because you are still assuming the male masculine role, but if you bottom, then you are assuming the female passive submissive role, therefore giving up your "manliness". (not my own opinion, but it is the very generalized concept in many asian countries) Add to the fact he is married with children, no doubt there is huge guilt on engaging in gay sex AND being the passive female probably helped inflame his pregnant psychosis.
