DTB, there are probably many escorts in California who wouldn't mind the short flight to Las Vegas and business.

Absolutely! JLA and Paul Tyler were two fantastic Cali studs that I did just that and more than once. Both were fantastic guys. This one under consideration is from a neighboring state ;).

I do not know what is more boring, your ridiculous and self-imposed disasters or Rick Monroe (I mean, Dutchmuch) constantly baiting Jimboivyo about BN.

someone just got outed :)

I am quite familar with Rick's post over many years. I just read three pages of Dutchmuch's posts. Except for a mutual dislike for BN, Dutchmuch's comments are only vaguely like Rick's

I didn't realize Rick wasn't a fan of BN. I was with Rick a long time ago. If DM's avatar is true to life, and he is Rick, he's changed a lot.
:p

So now that DTB moved past this, is it time for pizza yet or do we need to rehash the BN/ND attacks again?

That is a really good question cany10011. Travel insurance is an interesting variable in the equation... But I know of other people who have found policies that cover all sorts of reasons for cancellations up to and including "all".

I think the question is kind of naive. Insurance companies don't do "frivolous." If you can find a reputable insurance company that will include "all" reasons for cancelling a flight, the policy will surely cost more than the plane ticket.

I travel with a group of business people who require travel insurance. We believe we've researched just about every policy out there, seeking the most reasonable, reputable deal. No reputable company that we've researched offers coverage for "all" reasons of cancellation.

I have an international trip coming up. The policy I currently have is a 16-page PDF. You can't imagine how challenging it is to figure out what will they pay or won't pay, depending on the details. If you have no patience for fine print, travel insurance will not be a friendly read.

Sorry rogerG - every time I travel, other than short inexpensive hops, I get travel insurance (thru my travel agent) and it covers ALL reasons including "just don't feel like going today!"

I can't remember the name of the company because i never fill out the forms but, as i said, it is thru my travel agent and I am sure that's how you could get it also.

Find out the name of that company Funguy. I would love to take out travel insurance on an escort.

" Yes, Joey Cocknell he just couldn't get on the plane. And I want a full refund! "

Ha! Ha! No, I don't use the web if I am traveling somewhere where weather will affect the flight (even where it originates) or during extremely busy travel times. I have had flights cancelled, overly late, etc. and I just call my handy, dandy travel agent and usually he has already rebooked me. Once, my destination had an earthquake and he already had cancelled the flights and the hotel with no loss to me and I didn't even have to call him! He called me and asked where else did I have a hankering to go to?

I have to agree here with funguy. I have always bought travel insurance through my travel agent also, especially every time I take a cruise, and have always been told that I can change my mind up to the time of departure for any reason. The fine print might have said otherwise, but my agent was very specific, and reiterated it to me several times. I dunno, maybe there is was some puffing going on.

I have not used a travel agent since I visited Aukland and Sydney for the first time in 1994.

Even then, I was able to change the Aukland-Sydney fight to Christchurch-Sydney by just calling Air New Zealand. When I arrive at LAX from Sydney, I decided to rent a car for a day, push back my flight to the East Coast and spend the night in Malibu.

To be fair, I would use a travel agent for a cruise.

Like William, on my just-concluded trip I was able to change flights simply by calling Qantas, no questions asked, and I had booked the flights on their web site. They weren't proactive in the way that FunGuy's travel agent was, and being in the Antipodes, their call centre wasn't as up-to-date with snow-related cancellations as the US carriers' web sites were. From shopping around for different flights and destinations before I booked, I would probably use a travel agent if the trip were more complicated in terms of number of stops and number of airlines used than mine was (and I have a neighbour who is a travel agent).

Mostly agree. Ten years ago I planned a trip on the Internet to four countries in Europe. Two days before I left, I finally organized everything in a notebook. Not a fun day. But, once the trip started everything was ok. One comment: Russia was my first stop, it was very nice to follow-up with Munich where many people speak English. But Russia was the highlight of the trip.

I find this whole thread quite interesting, in fact best one in weeks (months) so feeling like a bitch today. Then lobbing a BN ( I had great time with him) reference in well that just took things up a notch or two. But first DTB you did right and thank you for not buying into the bullshit of someone who you trusted. I do get why you do not want the name out and just some support of your position which was way more than generous. You did the right thing.

However, I thought hmmm, amazing how a thread's tide goes when we don't mention names. My aging mind seems to recall another thread a good time ago. I wonder how that thread would have gone if a certain well known poster (client) had not used the name at all, I don't think he did but you know I seem to recall the well known escort came flying in when he figured out it was about him livid with the discussion and the public seemed to side with him even though he left the client hanging ticket paid for, I think more than once. You know its only several hundred dollars, peanuts right. Oh might be just getting old . . . hmmm.

Sorry funguy, I fall into the camp of people who don't believe everything I read on the internet.

In order for me to believe that there is a travel insurance policy that reimburses the full cost of a plane ticket when the reason for the missed flight is "just don't feel like going today," I would need a company name, a policy to read, the price of the policy, and a conversation with a policy holder who actually filed a claim and received full compensation for the "just don't feel like going today" submission.

Like I said, my group has a lot of experience actually reading fine print and researching travel insurance policies and reputations. My business works with some of the leading corporate travel agents in the industry. A simple Google search of "travel insurance, flight cost reimbursement for any reason" will yield pages and pages saying it doesn't exist.

IMO, it is much less expensive and hassle to fly to your escort of choice than it is to find and rely on an insurance policy that covers a flaky, unprofessional sex worker.
