I probably spend more time reading on average but would characterize myself as half and half because some of my posts have taken awhile to write. Also because I sometimes use this place as a substitute or replacement for LiveJournal, which used to be far more active than it is now.

I don't start as many threads as I would like to, mostly for reasons of time, interest, and energy. And I appreciate the welcome I've received here.

Let's not forget option C in which I neither read nor write but merely go to the Gallery section to look at pictures and quietly touch myself in my special place.

I like to touch you in your special place. :p

Anyway...

I'm a reader/writer. I write more than when I started. I don't read every topic posted and don't always stick with the posts that get long-winded and go off the rails. I try to contribute if I have something to say or add. And on occasion, I'll make a random quip to try to be funny.

With almost 7,000 members of the forum... I say posters are definitely the minority. As PK said, I wish more contributed, but I understand (for many reasons) why some don't.

If there are posts I can tell off the bat are likely to go off the rails or engender drama amongst posters, I often skip them entirely as an act of self-care. Or I'll stop reading a thread or skip it for awhile. That's sometimes also prevented me from posting replies in the heat of the moment that I might later regret.

That 7000+ is misleading, since many are in limbo, having joined just to say a couple of things or ask about a particular escort, and then disappeared. The persisters are a much smaller group.

Let's not forget those who joined & never posted.

Understood, but even if that number were accurate... as we both pointed out, there still is only a very small amount of persistent/regular posters.

I wish the ones who read and lurk contributed more. :)

Give them time. I hope many are like myself. I joined in 2011 and wrote pretty much nothing until last July. I did not even login for several years. Even when I have never been the kind that think ours is a shameful hobby.

Lately I've been checking pretty often the list of members and guests on line. So many ghosts there! I wonder how many interesting, intelligent, sensual, sexy people are not letting us enjoy their charme and ideas.....

HEY, YES YOU. JOIN AND SHARE YOURSELF.

I've been a "guest" reader of this forum for the past 5 years. I was too intimidated to post before. Everybody is witty and smart, so it is hard to make a meaningful contribution to almost any thread. I joined in late Sept hoping to ease in.

Posting School has helped. I had a thorough examination - physical and mental( barely passed the mental) I still get daily assignments to improve my grammar and brevity (getting a C) On key skills like dishing-it-out, gossip, wit, and fending off annoying folks, I'm flunking. PMing is improving thanks to a couple of tutors. I do have a B+ average on lusting after hot pix tho - my average improved after the rimming thread. :) Hope to survive my freshman year.

Some of us might be of an age and inclination to have particpated in an early email-mostly

online forum for LGBT people in the early days of the internet called soc.motss.

Advice contributors to sites like Datalounge would do well to heed. There was a brief period when I checked it out for the drama and lulz.

My legal background has stood me in good stead as well as an understanding that disagreements should not be taken personally and it would be boring if we were all the same.

Well this thread http://www.companyofmen.org/threads/quick-advice-needed-first-class-problem.110255/ took you to the front of the class, earned you an A+ and made you a legend on campus. You pretty much can cruise through the rest of your freshman year and still graduate with honors. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/yes.gif
