Don't Miss A Sec, is real usable public toilet surrounded in one-way mirrored glass. Its impossible to see in, but the "user" can see out as people pass London's Tate Britain gallery. So now you have the option of reading the newspaper or just people watching as you do your business!

Too bad it isn't the other way around. Would be hot to get blown in there, not knowing who's watching us on the other side. }(

I wonder if people can see thru the glass if they press their face right up to the glass.

Wowzer. I wanna try it :)

As said above, would this be considered a performance art piece? If someone makes a 'movement' joke in this thread, i'll be sorely dissapointed for lack of creativity.

Yes,I'm brave enough to try it. I've visited France numerous times in my life and I gotta say their toilets are tough to use. Same goes for India, a whole in the ground. A glass toilet is no big deal, as long as someone ain't watching. In fact they should implement these toilets in France and maybe in Britain. It would improve the smelling quality and bring a new meaning to the word ventilation.

Prada

This is similar to the changing rooms in the new Prada store which opened up here in Los Angeles - the rooms where customer go try clothes on are made of glass; when one needs privacy, one touches the glass and they are no longer clear. Some science fiction movies and programs use similar glass to create certain effects.

The idea of urinal art is not really new, as far back as the Warhol Factory days, some similar ideas were being done. The one new wrinkle in this case is position the toilet in public, rather than in a gallary or other interior space.

Not sure I see the point. (definitely no pun intended) Maybe a kick for the timid exhibitionist. :D

Besides the coolness factor, perhaps the designers wanted to provide a way for the person inside the toilet to see if anyone else was waiting to use the facility, or if anyone was standing outside the entrance before you flung the door open into their face.
