Well a lot depends on the group to whom it will be going. Clearly if it is a group of Daddy's Posters you could get one of those jar opener assists because most of us need to get grip. However, if it is going to your family, then I would say, condoms and lube.

I'm sure there will be a wide assortment of ugly sweaters and sweatshirts...the more garish, the better. useful these days for the de rigueur ugly sweater party.

When you say "White Elephant," do you mean "Secret Santa" -- something you're getting without knowing specifically who it's for?

 

1. Since you mentioned Target, they usually have some Christmas items that would fit the bill (and the price point) -- like snow globes, etc -- although the selection is better suited to women than men.

 

2. Another idea -- something you could also put togther at Target: a holiday mug and a bag of good coffee, maybe a small package of chocolates to go along with them.

 

3. In case you have a small gift or craft shop near AND know the person getting your gift is a wine drinker, there are some clever/arty/nice quality corkscrews out there; I picked up one for a friend for $15. (I'm sure he's already got one or more, but this one was unique and nicely crafted, so...)

If it's for a woman, a Sephora gift card usually works. If it's a gift exchange, it will get traded to the right person.

 

Cute salt and pepper shakers are usually popular, but I'm not sure if Target carries them.

God, I hope it is "white elephant" and not secret Santa! Otherwise I just sentenced AZDR to a not-so nice holiday surprise! :eek:
