Body Shaving

Last week I walked into the shower room at the gym and could not help but notice someone doing a full body shave. I found it somewhat odd that he would shave everything in a public gym - especially since it is 99% straight. Anyone else find this odd or am I just too deep in the midwest?

I find this odd too.

 

I witnessed something similar in my (swanky) gym in central London a couple of weeks ago.

 

A heavily inked guy was shaving himself (using the mirrors by the washbasins, near the lockers, and NOT in the shower) during the evening "primetime". My friend and I exchanged looks, but no-one else seemed surprised.

 

Perhaps all personal grooming is now for public display (though to be fair, he did not shave his genital area!)

about a year ago i saw a guy shaving his balls in the shower at my gym...think he was enjoying making a show of it...he was watching me as i went by checking him out...almost said something but didn't want to distract him anymore than he already was since he was working in such a delicate area LOL:7

Could be a simple logistics thing. Maybe he doesn't have enough mirrors at home to do the deed easily. Or perhaps he just wanted to leave the cleanup job, and the plumbing hassle of running all that hair down the drain, to the gym. <shrug>

One of the sad sad trends in the "metrosexual"movement is "straight" guys participating in this horrid shaving buisness.

Now if you have unsightly amounts of body hair,then yes,a trim is ok-but the total removal of all hair-lazy and very very unatractive in my opinion.

I want a MAN,I really don't care what age,and most MEN have hair.

Is that not one of the traits of a mammal?That we have hair?

Totally smooth guys are suge a huge turnoff for me.That is why I love vintage porn,even the nelliest of those guys look more manly to me than the alien looking creatures appearing in porn today.

Please put a stop to this madness.

But I'll agree about the shaved look. Nothing is worse than the feel of stubble.

There's a man at my gym who spends the longest amoutn of time grooming and primping in front of the mirrors each and every morning. Always naked. He's attractive and nobody seems to mind. Quite the opposite actually. He seems like a total exhibitionist.

 

As for full-body shaving in a gym, well it would depend on how much of a mess he was making and how much he hogged up the sink area. And sad to say if it was a muscle guy doing it, I would probably have less negative things to say than if someone less built was doing it because my first reaction to reading the post was, that's something to be done at home.

 

As for hairy versus smooth, both work. As a hairy guy I often wished I was smooth, but also have meet many smooth guys who wished they were hairy.

 

But I only like smooth in a natural way. The steroid, shaved body look is a total turn-off. Anyone else out there turned off my the super-traps of the steroid user?

If he's a "Masters" swimmer, it might be part of the conditioning routine and if he lives in a small apartment, messing up the gym sink, etc. is probably a lot easier than cleaning up after himslef at home. My moistly straight, but gay friendly gym has plenty of this stuff going on and its often straight guys who are getting into heavy grooming--and this Atlanta, which is a very uptight place. I usually shave and do my beard trim at the gym, partly because I'm awake when I am there, unlike my usual state 1st thing in the morning. For a big shaving job, that kind of factor may be important, too.

Yes, it seems it 's becoming ubiquitous. I've noted the same thing in the men's shower room at the YMCA in Chelsea.

I like it natural... not shaved (trimmed is ok)

 

I don't really understand why someone would take steroids unless they needed them for health reasons...

 

Not to picky in that department.. but sometimes it can make guys prickly.
