With all the recent discussions regarding fraudulent or suspicious ads the questions needs asking:

Have you taken a chance on a unreviewed or new escort?

 

I personally have taken a chance with unreviewed individuals 4 time in the last 2 years. I guess I can consider myself lucky that each experience turned excellent for me. Although I still prefer the well reviewed guys, taking a chance for me was well worth it. I regret not reviewing the first two on this site but I wasn't as comfortable with the situation as I am today.

Yes... yes I have. I agree, sometimes you have to take a chance. There have been a few.

One of the more notable ones was a muscle guy who didn't show his face (just his body) and had no reviews. That guy turned out to be this guy... Brock Vinson

As B-N-T rightly pointed out the bigymguy appears to be using others pics. By no means take this post of an endorsement of him. I was just pointing out that when I took a chance and hired him with his partner last year he was very accommodating for me at the time.

Yes. I think we all have. I hired a couple in Vegas and had a great time--we became friends. Also a wonderful man in Palm Springs. Three guys in Portland, OR turned out to be fun (not at the same time.) Funny how I can remember the winners, but the real downers (or just plain duds) tend to fade into obscurity--and quite a few of those had good reviews too.

Although I do not deliberately seek out unreviewed escorts over reviewed escorts, my best hires have been guys who were either a) new to the business or b) unreviewed/were not reviewed for a while at the time I hired them. I actually had to stop a former Daddy's "it" boy (who has since retired) and ask him whether he had paid attention to our pre-appointment conversations because he was doing the exact opposite of what we had discussed.

 

There are a few notable exceptions to this. Tristan Baldwin is one. However, at the time he was the subject of some nasty Forum talk, so I consider him to have been out of favor at the time. Rod Hagen is another, but he had not been reviewed in several years when I hired him. Michael Vincenzo is a third, but again he had not been reviewed in quite some time when I first hired him.

 

The takeaway, for me, is to rely on my own instincts and use reviews as guidelines to a guy's general demeanor and behavior. What one reviewer thinks is an incredible experience would be a turn-off to another. Additionally, I think some clients get so caught up in an escort's accolades that they do not realize or wish to acknowledge that they had anything less than a stellar time with well-reviewed escorts. I liken it to luxury cars. Very few people want to admit that they preferred a Chevy over a BMW.

A fair number- everyone has to start somewhere and the absence of a review isn't a red flag unless they've been around long enough such that you would expect something to have been posted somewhere.

 

Those who I recommend end up in a submitted Daddy's review and the others go on my personal no-fly list.

Since there are virtually no reviews for active escorts for Belgium, I don't have much choice if I want to hire locally. And even then, I had a nightmarisch session with a well-reviewed escort, so I think the whole expectation that well-reviewed is a guarantee of any sort isn't something I personally believe.

So far I've hired four unreviewed guys. Two turned out to be great and are on their way of becoming regulars. One was so-so, I mean, it wasn't really bad, but he didn't kiss (misunderstanding when setting up the appointment) and he scheduled a session when it wasn't really a good time for him. One was just plain awful.

 

There's a couple of things that are dealbreakers: I need to see their face and I need to be able to do some due diligence, confirming to me that they are the person in the ad and pictures.

 

To be honest, I quite feel like I'm on the frontier here. I've got a couple of reviews lined up of guys here in Belgium.

Think I've posted these stats before: Since starting in 2002 I've hired ~150 people (75% men, the rest women + some TS). Of the men, only half a dozen had reviews. Also, out of the grand total, only half a dozen or so were clunker encounters. Of those half-dozen misfires, two of them were guys with stellar reviews.

 

So my conclusion is to avoid anyone with many negative reviews, but otherwise to ignore reviews and instead trust my gut reaction to his ad and to a brief phone chat with him.

 

The world is full of unreviewed gems to discover. And the reviews, it seems, include plenty of guys with whom YMMV.

One additional thought that did not occur to me until just now: You are taking a chance when hiring, regardless of the number of reviews the escort has (or doesn't have).

I did most of my hiring in the days before this site or anything like it existed (i.e., pre-Internet), so those escorts were all unreviewed. About 2/3 of the experiences were disappointing, or worse.

I have a great idea! Every time an unreviewed guy is discussed and there's some interest from forum members why don't interested members kick in 10-20 bucks and we send out a test reviewer from the forum to report on said escort. Maybe start a GoFundMe sort of thing.

Now, I know it can be a scary and dangerous job however I would be more than willing to offer my services as a test reviewer :):):)

We went out to dinner and afterwards returned to my hotel for a smoking hot two hours of play time. The guy had pale skin and a to die for gymnast type body. Besides the great body he was extremely modest almost shy and a great dinner companion. The next thing I knew his first Falcon DVD was released and my review of him when up second here on this site. Josh Weston is one of my most fondly remembered hires. Unfortunately the porn industry eventually destroyed him and he died in his early 30's.

There are no guarantees. One can only be diligent and use common sense. A guy can be a legitimate escort (not a scam) and still be a dud. Sometime you win...

I've hired 48 different guys (some of them multiple times) so far since I started in early 2013. I only started reading reviews in February of this year when I joined this forum, so I've always taken a chance when hiring. I don't think I've hired even one of the 48 because of a review. I may have not hired because of what was said in a review however, and that's just as valuable information as is the praise and adulation. Since I joined this forum and started reading reviews I've used what I read in the reviews to reinforce either hiring or not hiring if I'm not totally certain either way. Out of all those chances I've taken I'd say that only one was a total waste of time and money. For me reviews mainly serve the purpose of letting me know if the escort looks like his pictures. Mostly I bank on how the escort responds to my initial proposal of what I'm interested in doing with him, and then the follow-up questions and answers to back it up. Above all I rely on intuition, which only becomes more and more trustworthy the more I honor it and pay attention to it.

Gem, great question! Yes, I've taken a chance on unreviewed or new companions. Success rate was 50/50. However, that was a while back. I've been at this for 4 years now, and I'm finally very clear on my objective for hiring: I want sparks, fireworks, abundant mutual connection, and no strings. I also want what I want when I want it, and I'm willing to wait, plan, and pay for it.

 

Therefore, I no longer gamble on unreviewed guys, and frankly, I hardly ever hire outside my portfolio. I rather have a few excellent choices (blue chips?) than being enticed by shiny objects than are actually smaller in passion than they appear in pix, posts, and/or reviews. Call me risk-averse or whatever, but it works for me I'm perfectly happy missing out on the escort du jour as long as I have (cue jazz hands) fireworks.

 

PS - if you are a top notch companion reading this post and you think I have missed out on you, and you don't mind taking a chance on this unreviewed, somewhat newish client, I would gladly like to hear (privately) from you.
