I demand that you suspend the scam ad of Robbyy immediately:

http://rentmen.com/Robbyy

This individual is using fake photographs that clearly are not of the same person, and that a very simple image search will reveal to be of other individuals that have been pilfered off the Internet. There is no question that this person is using dishonest images to advertise on your site.

I contacted this individual and made multiple attempts to get him to verify they are any of the 3 or 4 or perhaps more individuals featured as "Robbyy" in Robbyy's profile photographs. A full accounting of my interaction, documenting this individual's lack of honesty and character, can be found here:

http://www.companyofmen.org/threads/yet-another-fake-ad-on-rentmen.108377/

Here are some of the things this individual told me when I attempted to verify his pictures are legitimate:

"Your look into shit too much good riddenss."

"Fuck off."

"Go fuck yourself. Goodbye."

How far do we have to escalate this to get a response from you? How many concerned customers need to complain? How many scammers do we need to contact directly to prove they are in fact scammers before you do anything?

Please suspend this ad immediately and let us know how we can help you prevent scamming, abuse, and crime.

Subject: 7 Seattle ads currently running are FAKE.

Sent on: 5 min ago

As of this evening, just over 20% (7 out of 32) of the ads running for the Seattle area on RentMen.com are completely bogus.

SeanAndrew

TobyGooden

MikeReeves

Robbyy

Discoboy

Alexvidus

Niconico

That is an awfully high percentage of fraudulent ads and a disservice to the legitimate escorts advertising on the site, not to mention a disservice and possibly a danger to the clients. I will admit that Alexvidus was extremely hard to expose as fake(I first had to tie him to ads on 2 massage sites,)but the pictures in the ads for Robbyy, Niconico and Discoboy were child's play to trace and are in all three cases stolen. Sean, Toby and Mike (if there are indeed three of them) are known to be running a joint scam.

I don't expect you to catch every fraudulent ad, however, when scams are brought to your attention with evidence provided to support a claim of fraud, one might expect action to be taken.

My goodness - I guess we have some "Ad Detectives" on our hands regarding this guy using fake ads. Very impressive. :D

http://images.furycomics.com/images/categories/spyespionage.png

Good Job, you guys.

What this guy is doing by using fake ads is disgusting, and his attitude is just nasty beyond belief of how he approaches potential clients.

Yeah, this guy needs to go as he's giving us "honest" escorts out there using "real" pics a bad name. Bad enough how the good escorts do get questioned enough as it is for using current pictures, and seeing the case, Steven, Desperdo, and a few others have presented in front of us makes matters worse by giving the wrong impression to clients on how "dishonest" escorts pictures are not all real.

Then again, maybe the escort shouldn't be offended if the so called potential client ask for proof to see if it's really the escort they're contacting from the ad by sending a current pic or to send by text by phone of the pic they're using in the ad.

However I must say, Steven - you and the others here on the forum regarding this disturbing issue did great indeed. I'm sure Rentmen will be quite pleased as well as the rest of us of you're amazing efforts in exposing this imposter of his many shortcomings that could become potentially consequential for him in the end. :).

Well, I can't say Rentmen didn't get back to me relatively quickly. Now, why does this reply to my last email (see above) not inspire much confidence.

How do you connect "Jason" to Robbyy's ad?

And since you know something about the history of "Jason" on Rentboy, riddle me this. At the risk of sounding terribly naive, why spend 5 years running different ads every few weeks to disguise who you are, as opposed to building at least a decent reputation? There are escorts on this site who are not necessarily revered, but are at least viewed as "legitimate." Is the guy that much of a loser?

Here is thr Jason Crystal story yet again:

http://m4m-forum.org/threads/fake-suspicious-guys-in-san-diego.106997/#post-994348

Some people don't care about establishing a good reputation. They only care about the $$$. This con only works because enough people continue answering the ads and paying the money, even when the person that arrives is someone other than the guy pictured in the ad. Several posters have confirmed that they answered one of these ads and Jason Crystal showed up.

What I didn't get with Rentboy and don't get with Rentmen's current position on verifying photos is that it isn't that difficult to do so. Surely they can take a couple of minutes out per ad to do reverse image searches and simply reject ads if something suspicious turns up or, at a minimum, require an additional photo for verification. For that matter, how difficult would it be for them to simply require a photo from EVERY advertiser with something specific in the photo, as determined by Rentmen, to verify that the person in the submitted photos is the person actually placing the ad? I'm thinking something along the lines of: prospective advertiser sends in five shots, four of which show a muscled torso with a tattoo on the left pec, and Rentmen instructs the prospective advertiser to submit a selfie showing the same torso while holding an apple in his left hand.

I look at Rentboy's previous disregard of obviously fraudulent ads, and now Rentmen apparently following suit, as akin to a site like Amazon.com allowing third party merchants to advertise one thing and deliver another. Do you think Amazon.com would simply ignore customers' complaints about being scammed? No, they would actually facilitate refunds to the customers who didn't get what they paid for. I'm not suggesting that Rentmen needs to take that much responsibility for customer satisfaction, but it seems like what is, for all intents and purposes, an advertising site should put more effort into making sure that the ads they are displaying are legitimate.

and then they will reply again back to you. We have obtained what we consider "reasonable proof" that they are the person in the pictures.

or better yet, the webmaster from rentmen will ask YOU to provide proof they aren't real. "Have you met the person? can you validate the person you met was not the one in the picture? have you photographic or video proof of your encounter with the person?"

both scenarios above are ones I have received from rentmens webmasters.

Wow. I'm actually surprised they are this cold. Hopefully it is a quick and formulaic attempt at a response and not an indication of their policy.

What they are basically saying is that as long as Robbyy cleans up his act just enough to have a consistent set of fake pics, he is welcome to pay them money to keep scamming.

If their policy is really that they are Cool With Crime, I have all the time in the world to relentlessly build up documentation of how they facilitate scamming and potential crime and resist reasonable attempts to stop it. I would much rather work with them than against them, but this a complete blow off. They should be pulling the ad and requiring proof the guy is actually who the pictures show. And that is impossible, given the pictures are of different people.

I plan to keep escalating this.

May I ask you guys to help?

Please text Robbyy now from a phone you feel comfortable communicating with an escort from.

Tell him you are a potential client and you would like a CURRENT selfie of him taken TODAY. I know he has a cell phone he can text photos from, since he did it yesterday. (He sent me a fake picture from his profile, not a current selfie).

As I've said above, some of this potential scam prevention stuff really needs to be thought through. Even if we get Robbyy shut down, he'll pop up again as someone else. That is not Rentmen's fault. What is their fault if we have taken the time to beat Robbyy at his game, and Rentmen is supporting Robbyy and his scammy and potentially criminal behavior and blowing us off.

Please text Robbyy now at 413-829-2131 and ask for a CURRENT photo taken TODAY let us know what happened.

He has told me to fuck off twice. I just sent him this text: "Please send me a current selfie of you taken TODAY or I will continue to escalate attempts to get your fake ad pulled."

Absolutely.

My guess is the majority of escorts on Rentmen are establsihed ones (like Michael Vicenzo in Seattle yesterday) and there is no need to verify he is who he says he is. This actually concerns a small percentage of their advertisers, I suspect, and possibly also a small percentage of their revenue. As Scorpio suggested there is probably a relatively small group of repeat offenders that will find new ways to keep offending.

There is no picture verification system someone like Robbyy can't crack. What concerns me most about this is that once it has been established that someone like Robbyy is scamming and telling people to fuck off because they are asking him for verification, Rentmen should pull the ad. Even if they don't want to spend time "investigating," we've given them more than enough basis to pull the guy's ad. Failing to do that is inviting him to commit crime.

What if I had hired Robbyy? What if I complained after going to his hotel and finding out in person it was not him and being told in person to fuck off?

If need be, that is where this will go. I'll go "hire" escorts I know are scamming and meet them in person and take a picture of them to prove they are scamming and demand that Rentmen pull the ad.

Rentmen, if you are listening, I have no bone to pick with you. I'd rather you be around forever and have policies that will guarantee that I and others come to your defense if you are accused of non-existent crimes. But if you are going to turn a deaf ear to people like us who are documenting actual scams and potential crime, that's a different matter.

Do you really want to position yourself as being Cool with Crime?

Great. If they want to play that game, I for one will go there and help create the documentation they want. If I go to meet an escort and take a picture and he threatens me, I'll call the cops. I'll tell them the problem started because there is a website called Rentmen that facilitates that kind of crime.

Stupid, stupid, stupid behavior.

If this is what having a website in Amsterdam means, it supports the claim made by the vast majority of the media that having legal brothels in that city has created a mess. I'm gonna be broken record on this: moving escort websites offshore is going to invite behavior like this that is at best unresponsive and at worst criminal.

I checked my email which I should have done first before typing the above.

Rentmen Webmaster did email saying they had sent Robbyy a request for picture verification and his account will be suspended if the procedure is not followed. I emailed back and thanked them and asked what the procedure is. I informed them I requested that he text me a selfie taken TODAY and reminded them that he is clearly using pictures of multiple individuals one of which are of a fitness model taken off the Web.

I can't cut and paste what they sent or my reply since I'm on a plane using iPhone but I will do so later. For this to work it is important to document, share, and be fair.

Steven,

The ads for Robby and for Niconico have been taken down as of today. RM says they are working on the other 5 in question. I think we (mostly you) finally got through to them.

The people over at massageM4M.com also replied to my inquiry about the authenticity of young Alex also advertising on RM. They claim to have verified his pictures through video chat. This is not possible given what I turned up. Here is the email exchange:

Hello,

Verified Masseurs have gone through a video verification with our staff. We have confirmed that the masseur in this ad is the person in the photos.

Have a nice day.

Best Regards,

Andrew

I just responded to them:

Thank you. I am glad you verified Alex's pictures through video chat. What confuses me is that all the exact same pictures belong to a Russian TV personality/model named Andrew Klimov whose bio and resume appear in full on the following link:

http://worktalent.net/katalog/modeli/parni1/klimov-andrej-yurevich.html

Here is your site:

There is absolutely NO QUESTION but that the pictures are the same. There is a video as well. Now it is just possible that Alex and Mr. Klimov are the same person, but I fear highly unlikely. The bio is in Russian, but Google Translator did a commendable job with it. Mr. Klimov's career in Russian TV started 12 years ago. Alex on your site claims to be 24 years old now. Do the math.

I believe I owe Alex an apology. Just got alerted to a Facebook page for the guy, and it seems he actually IS the Russian model and totally legit.

How amazing is that??? I tried to book him, but we can't get it together before he flies out tomorrow night. My loss. I want to clear this guy's reputation. I was totally wrong about him.

Just in passing, I got a text message from Sean Andrew today saying he is in town (he did say he would get in touch when he got here) and is available for in or out calls today and tomorrow. I am a little surprised to hear from him. From my previous communications, I thought perhaps he would consider me too hot to handle (not in THAT way!) My previous communications implied I wanted to "put to rest" questions about his authenticity on Daddy. Don't think I will reply. After all the recent fuss, I think I need to step back and take a break.
