Do you ever make it to hotel breakfast?

Giving out your room number when someone says they're "Here" then they never show up makes me VERY VERY VERY nervous. I don't know about other guys, but its means to switch hotels/rooms to me the next morning!

It simply means they're full of shit and should be blacklisted. There's no need to be very, very, very nervous. What can they do? If that person is too much of a coward to show up, then it's nothing to worry about. They can't rat you out to the hotel, because you're their guest. In my experience, the things hotels care about the most are getting paid, making sure nothing is damaged/stolen (incidentals), no smoking, no pets, and not creating a disturbance...

It'd be the day when a hotel says upon checking in, "no having sex, $250 cleaning fee".

I was wondering if anybody was going to mention the Hampton Inns. I do a considerable amount of car travel in the U.S. for pleasure and I always try to book a Hampton. Their breakfasts are decent, their beds are comfortable and their rooms are a nice size. They usually have two or three entrances and I doubt anybody at the front desk would even notice if you met a guest in the lobby and then when to your room. They are quite consistent from one hotel to the next within the chain which definitely isn't the case with the Day's Inns.

Most hotel breakfast spreads aren't complete enough for me. I'm a morning person, and need a rather substantial breakfast to start my day. It's almost like a ritual in regards to taking in sustenance. I bite the bullet, get up, get dressed, and head out to find a local cafe that doesn't feature mini-boxes of cold cereal and a token collection of what some might call a breakfast, and then try to add the words "continental" in there somewhere to make it all seem so sophisticated.

I remember those mini boxes. They were neat. They used to come with perforations, so you could open the side of the box and pour the milk in there. The box made its own bowl!!

;)

Yes, although that looks more torn than perforated.

Gman, why do you describe those mini cereal boxes in past tense? They are still quite common.

Arent the round, portable, plastic bowls more common these days?

Also do the boxes still have perforations?

I was wondering if anybody was going to mention the Hampton Inns. Day's Inns.

Were you wondering if I was going to mention it? I did, when I included Hilton, Marriott, and club Carlson having their 2 star versions of hotels. Based on Priceline, I've had Hampton inns that ranged from 2 star to 2.5, to 3 star. But they were all like you said, similar too wise. So that's a case of where not all 2star hotels are some trashy dump. Marriott towneplace suites are also sometimes considered 2 stars.

Days inns are usually well kept in small western towns, like flagstaff...away from the city. I passed by a building near 79th street and I-95 in Miami, a days inn years ago that got renamed to 'city hotel' (and when it was a days inn, it was dump...I think they've cleaned up their brand over the years) to an abandoned building waiting to be apparently converted back to holiday inn.

I have never done hotel breakfasts, they just don't sound nor look appetizing. I am not an early riser, I am usually not up till about 9am and out of the room at 10am most trips. Personally for me, I prefer to find a nice cozy diner or other casual local spot (NOT a mega chain!) and eat like the locals. I also usually bring a few Kind bars to snack on and a box of Starbucks Via coffee just in case I over sleep.

Hugs,

Greg

I'm all about protein- and fat-filled breakfasts—hard-boiled eggs, sausages, plain greek yogurt, bacon, the like. What I find is that for much of the hotels I've been to, their spreads are nothing more than cereals and waffles. There's nothing wrong with waffles and cereals mind you; I just can't have them in the morning.

I usually ask what they serve on the day I check in. If all they have are carb bombs, I sleep in, and swing by just before service is over to make a cup of tea or hot chocolate. I'd rather eat a great brunch right after checking out.

I often carry protein powder with me for those carb-heavy hotel free breakfasts....add some to the oatmeal

I remember one time doing this: I brought a pack of chocolate protein powder with me for whatever reason (will explain why below), and mixed this with the hotel's oatmeal. For kicks and giggles, I added the hot chocolate mix too. It was glorious.

I don't exercise at all when traveling, and since protein powder, for me, is packed along with the athletic gear, when I don't do the latter, the former also goes.

Off topic for breakfast, but some people check out too quickly and leave things behind. This family left a teddy bear at a Canberra hotel, and the concierge went beyond the call of duty ...

Which came first, this or the one from Miami Airport with a stuffed Hobbes toy? Just curious. These stories are really cute regardless.

The Miami one I suspect (I hadn't seen it) as this one only came out this week. From the attribution of the pics in the linked article, the radio station obtained the digital copies of them from the concierge himself.

Random thought, but as escorts (or clients) I imagine most of us are on later schedules than the multitudes, and especially later than people who wake up at 5 or 6 am.

I know hotel breakfast hours vary, but most are usually done by 9-930 am. 90% of the time I am too tired to actually wash up, put on clothes, and deal with other half woken people and their rambunctious kids in the vicinity....then gorge myself on food in the process. But then, when noon comes around and my appetite builds and I want breakfast, not lunch..I am so annoyed at myself. I've missed breakfasts at Residence Inns, Homewood suites, and I'm sure a host of other hotels...because I've been too comatose from the "hard" night before to get out the bed before they start packing it up at 9 am. Though, if it's 10 am I can usually catch it, and at 11 am I'm pretty sure I can catch it. Free breakfasts always end early

Im considering doing room service breakfast more often, but that can add up over dozens of hotel nights and not all hotels offer it.

Breakfast~? Geez... We early make it to breakfast much less dinner or lunch~

I find that we stay engaged otherwise~

I do, however, frequently bring juices, water and snacks like berries and bananas, fruit and chocolates to 3hr, 6hr and 14hr overnight appointments simply because it leads into glad food fetishes and also because it's more intimate to eat together up in the room~

That's not to say I don't enjoy the dining out experience or a night out on the town too~ I do~!

In fact, Legendary Dave and I had a most Unforgettable evening dining experience with our very sexy Client in Fort Lauferdale this past week~

The three of us met at a restaurant were we were delighted to find that we could be entertained by the "Dark Dining" experience~

It was simply and exquisitely OVER THE TOP~!!!

We were led to a room by a server who specializes in Dark Dining... The room was Pitch black... Completely void of light~

The only visible illumination was from a glow in the dark watch face and the gentle, green shadow of the servers night vision goggles as he entered the room to delight us with beverages or one of the six mystery courses provided in the meal~

Once served, we were left alone in the room to explore the delights in front of us... (And the food too)~

There were no utensils~ All six courses were eaten with our hands using our fingers or our imaginations~

You would not believe what all can happen in a completely dark room with three "hhhhhungry" people...

The waiter instinctually knocked to give us notice of his arrival and lingered before entering so as not to, um, startle us... Or perhaps himself... I'm sure he just wanted to be sure we had finished up one course before beginning the next~ ...and never once did he mention that Dave and I had loosened our collars to the point of being completely shirtless and whatever~

So intense tasting all that the table had to offer... Warm and wet, sweet and savory, smooth and hard... Curious Fingers and moist lips in the dark... Feeding ourselves and each other~

Lots of laughter, merriment and myrth... lots of napkins but, seemingly nowhere to tuck them~

It's incredible how heightened your senses are when the attention is on taste, touch, sound and antici...pation of what might come next~

Dark Dining: Delightful, Delicious, Delovely~!

So perfect~! So playful~! So public~ hehe~

I've researched and found more dark dining venues around the country and cities I travel

to~

Reach out into the darkness and find out what's on the menu~!

...or, we can just "dine in"~ It's alllll goooood~!

It's also grand fun to go to the grocery store and go shopping together for things to eat and play with~ One never knows WHAT you might bring home when you go grocery shopping while hungry... Once a Client and I, (while visiting Seattle), came back to the room with a husky stock boy~ (apparently the item we were looking for was actually in our room and we had him help us find it)~

That sounds fun! I'll be in FLL soon. Is this a special thing they do or every night?
