More Simon and Garfunkel

Just saw this again FF and was instantly reminded of "Boy in the Bubble"...so I thought I would post. For me it is haunting....

t was a slow day

And the sun was beating

On the soldiers by the side of the road

There was a bright light

A shattering of shop windows

The bomb in the baby carriage

Was wired to the radio

These are the days of miracle and wonder

This is the long distance call

The way the camera follows us in slo-mo

The way we look to us all

The way we look to a distant constellation

That's dying in a corner of the sky

These are the days of miracle and wonder

And don't cry baby, don't cry

Don't cry

It was a dry wind

And it swept across the desert

And it curled into the circle of birth

And the dead sand

Falling on the children

The mothers and the fathers

And the automatic earth

These are the days of miracle and wonder

This is the long distance call

The way the camera follows us in slo-mo

The way we look to us all

The way we look to a distant constellation

That's dying in a corner of the sky

These are the days of miracle and wonder

And don't cry baby, don't cry

Don't cry

It's a turn-around jump shot

It's everybody jump start

It's every generation throws a hero up the pop charts

Medicine is magical and magical is art

The Boy in the Bubble

And the baby with the baboon heart

And I believe

These are the days of lasers in the jungle

Lasers in the jungle somewhere

Staccato signals of constant information

A loose affiliation of millionaires

And billionaires and baby

These are the days of miracle and wonder

This is the long distance call

The way the camera follows us in slo-mo

The way we look to us all

The way we look to a distant constellation

That's dying in a corner of the sky

These are the days of miracle and wonder

And don't cry baby, don't cry

Don't cry

C'mon now, yall got to have some Black women sad songs. There's nothing like a Toni Braxton, "There's no me without you", or a Mariah Carey "Cry" song, or a BabyFace "reason for breathing" song.

However, I can't think of listening to these songs during sex. It's usually after a bad date.

Toni Braxton came out with a song that's super sad and revengeful. Part of the lyrics is: "I hope you're unhappy. I hope she gives you a disease, so you will see. but not enough to make you die, but only make you cry.....like you did to me".

Which is why I was trying to think of a song Aretha Franklin's sung that fits. I'm sure there are some, but the closest I came was "I Never Loved a Man."

Slightly off-topic, but...Beyonce's fans may call her Queen Bee, but there's only one Queen of Soul. Her name is Aretha Franklin.

OMG! That's 'cause while Aretha was singing about RESPECT, Etta James was still sing about loving a man that beat her. Etta was singing about the power love has over her, and singing about the heartbreaking reality of what it does to a person. How without his love, she's nothing and nothing else mattered except that love... Case in point:
