I hope not to be offensive to any, but informative to most.

  1. Yesterday (6'30) was my 64th birthday. I woke up to a phone call, telling me I needed a nuclear stress test to evaluated ischemic coronary artery disease, prior to:
  2. My right total hip replacement, which is on 7/20/2015.

I merely ask for your prayers and support as I approach this, as my other hip surgery left me in hospital and rehabilitation for over three and a half months.

Thank you. That is all.

Happy happy Birthday Gallahad. Look further down the road than you can see, and believe...all will be well. Sending you positive energy and prayers your way, and just know that many here will be pulling for you.

Happy Birthday to a real gentleman. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming surgery and prayers for a "better-than-last-time" recovery.

Sooo wish you a speedy recovery! You are such a kind and bright plus to our world! I have had a shoulder and knee replacement, and both feet/ankles reconstructed. The only thing I can recommend to you and our friends is do not let the phrase, "I CAN'T" into your vocabulary. We can always adapt to our situation. I may not walk 10 miles a day, but I can walk 5. Please let us know how you r doing. It always sounds to me that you are a vibrant human being, with so much to offer! Good fortune to you! WG2 PS: I'm going to go out and cut my lawn.

A stress test can be common before surgery. I had one just before prostate cancer surgery.

Above all, very best of wished for a very quick recovery. Stay in touch here. I'll be thinking about you all day on Monday, July 20.

Happy birthday, Gallahad! Given your background, I'm sure you've chosen the best care and have done everything you can to make sure your outcome is good. I'll be thinking of you as you get ready for your surgery.

Happy belated Birthday, and best wishes for your surgery. Hope there are no complications like your first one. A couple friends of mine had hip replacement surgeries recently and were back on their feet, literally, in a fairly short time and without the pain they had before. Just remember to ask for the good drugs, and you should sail right through! http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.png

1) I hope you had a happy birthday

2) If you haven't had a heart attack your doing good

3) No sweat on the nuclear stress. In the past 5 years I've had 7, the last one this past February

4) getting the artery fixed up is easy, but a little freaky if you haven't done it before

5) the technology for these types of "repairs" is way better than years before

I've had 3 heart surgeries in the past 10 years. The last was 1 year ago. I keep telling everyone as long as the technology keeps moving forward faster than I decline I'll be ok. You will be ok. I don't know where you are located but research the: hospital and the cardiac surgeon who will be doing the surgery. If you have any questions at all feel free to PM me. I'll be happy to explain more.

good luck on your hip surgery.
