While my first hire (who was only 6 months into the business and made a lot of missteps in our interactions which he in hindsight admits and regrets) didn't connect on the emotional level that I needed, he is a good person.

Kudos to you for being able to be both empathetic, and clear about your own needs and expectations. That's not easy, particularly during your first encounter with an escort.

I have an inner sociologist that, like the inner bitch inside me, is always looking for a way to get out. You obviously do, too. They are both good qualities in whores: one for self-protection, and one for focus on caring about people.

If you ever get sick of your day job, you can always try escorting. You'd probably be good at it. Assuming a hot stud like your Prince Charming, Peter, could tolerate you as competition. :D

Perhaps at a future gathering/meetup, we can designate a particular table or corner of the bar for sober-types. We can even wear t-shirts reading "serve me virgins only."

It almost turned out like that as it was.

...I however can think of only 2-3 clients that have resulted from posting on this forum one of whom made me want to boil my skin afterwards.

I'm sorry I don't recall. When did we meet?

Hehe, I've consistently scored as the Myers-Briggs classic, quintessential INFJ over the years. The first time I took the test, I was stunned (and relieved that I wasn't alone?) that my persona could actually be summarized so incredibly well. My two favorite and in my opinion most accurate descriptions of the Jungian-Myers archetypes for INFJ's are:

The most valuable trait(s):

There's something rotten in Denmark." Accurately suspicious about others' motives, INFJs are not easily led. These are the people that you can rarely fool any of the time. Though affable and sympathetic to most, INFJs are selective about their friends. Such a friendship is a symbiotic bond that transcends mere words. INFJs have a knack for fluency in language and facility in communication. In addition, nonverbal sensitivity enables the INFJ to know and be known by others intimately.

In regards to Prince Charming....hmm....I haven't really been competitive since I played baseball in high school :p I'm kind of content sitting in the castle at the moment and living out my Arthurian fantasies ;)

How funny! I'm an INFJ too. But that humanmetrics typology is pretty suspect. I mean, it says this about me:

"Usually self expression comes more easily to INFJ's on paper, as they tend to have strong writing skills."

Everybody who knows me knows I write for shit! ;)

Wow, maybe I *do* have a future career in your profession! :D It's a good thing that my interactions with Prince Charming have motivated me into gym determinations. 28 pounds down and counting, as I start my journey to once again to reach my peak "muscle bear" fitness of a decade ago ;)

Gives you "the look" for being critical of your writing skills ;)

Yup. Proves this "typology" crap is worthless. Here's what it says about you:

"Because of their preference for closure and completion, INFJ's are generally 'doers' as well as dreamers."

Obviously wrong, seeing as how you've only managed to lose 28 pounds. ;) I'd say you're just dreaming. Probably you're about as likely to lose weight and be a muscle bear as I am to write something that actually makes a lick of sense.

"Did you hear me?" "Did what I say matter?"

Yes, and yes.

Very inspiring video. With some good and sober wisdom for escorts: My heart is my brand.

She is a testament to the fact the the road to personal integrity goes through charity and change. And that to the giver, much is given.

My heart is my brand. May we all be as skillful at branding ourselves as she has been, and as purposeful in listening and giving.

I'd say you did okay, BVB. You really did okay. :)

Thanks for all of the comments in this thread. I should have used the word "intervention" as that is my approach. It is somewhat difficult to deal with as an employer, as thus far it has had minimal effect on that person's daily work, as far as I can tell. But the episodes at the convention make it an even more serious issue for the future. Thanks for the suggestions and comments. I'll let you all know how it evolves.

It's quite possible that this person really doesn't think he has a problem. A good friend of mine said she didn't even drink (and believed it) until she realized that that once a year that she would imbibe, she just wouldn't stop until she was completely drunk. She joined AA and is now happy, successful and respected.
