I do know that Allen Silver offers a more particular form of coaching, and having met him a few times, I would highly recommend him for this.

When I checked out Allen's website before meeting him the first time, I saw a few other gentlemen, all mature and grey-haired, who offered similar coaching in this field including Bob Patrick, another professional who travels around the country as does Allen.

Thanks for the links, adriano. I have thoroughly checked everything available about Eric (including his thorough website and Betty Dodson's book that details some of the fun they had together,) thus my asking if anyone here had ever worked with him personally. I wondered if Betty Dodson's name would mean much to a group of (primarily) gay men. She was/is a sexual pioneer for us gals.

As far as Allen Silver goes, I asked him if he ever came to the Midwest and never heard back. That said it all.

Allen Silver is a total dream, an extraordinarily sweet man's man. One shouldn't miss an opportunity to get with him.

Silver's site says he wishes to "connect in a healing way with other men."

Eric's site, and his list of services in particular, seem a a little hype-ish. Parts of the list ("layered orgasms, sequential orgasms, multiple orgasms") seems like an attempt at SEO.

None of that means he isn't good though.

Well, Eric's services are...coaching. He doesn't touch you at all, just watches you with your lover and gives you practical advice. I'm pretty psyched. Tyro ain't got time for months/years of "figuring it out together" with "the civilians." One awesome "civilian" is eager to start this work with me, and I think it will make our relationship even better than it already is...and that's pretty amazing.

For all of you praising Allen Silver, I'm sorry if I came off bitchy earlier. He just might not see women at all, which totally leaves me out. He is beautiful, and I will be the first to admit that.

OK, I'll be the first to bite. What is a sex coach? Perhaps I already see one!

One of the sites defines sex coaching as helping clients to "overcome sexual obstacles, resolve sexual and relationship issues, and to develop sexual skills."

It's great to overcome one's insecurities, but I wonder how much of this stuff (ease of reaching orgasm, quantity of orgasms) can really be changed.

Hey...you'll never know until you try. I never thought I'd hire hot men to fuck and be nice to me either.

Surprise!! ;)

I've been curious about that also. When I get together with Allen, we just have hot sex, which I don't think is sex coaching. But the special thing about Alan is that, around him, I abandon all my baggage around sex and feel free to do and say and ask for anything, and to delight in it.

I like to think I don't need coaching. Since I love sex, I assume I'm good at it. But one can always be better, right?

I just quickly perused Eric Amaranth's site, and I got the idea that sex coaching with him doesn't involve sex with him. I liked the idea of developing a very high level of skill at sex as a means of enriching and maintaining a monogamous relationship.

It would be great to become very skilled with multiple orgasms. I've been working at that for a long time - 50% of the way there.

The idea of becoming highly proficient at sex is really anti-victorian.

Sometimes people that are as sexual as he is are pretty much pansexual, but I've never seen any indication that he is into women. Regardless, it was impolite for him not to respond to your email.

OK, I'll go first. These sexual "coaches" seem just a coverup for escorting. There seems to me that there is some mystic quality of these individuals that propose to open up some sexual qualities in us that we didn't know exist??? Really??? Boring. And, I highly respect the escorting professional. R

Eric, the coach Tyro mentioned, has the following on his site:

Do you touch or have sex with your clients? No, I do not. I coach clients while remaining fully clothed at all times. I utilize verbal coaching and if clients are comfortable, demonstrate physical sexual skills with props or with my hands in mid-air as models, or demonstrate body movements and positions similar to a yoga instructor’s method. If the client has chosen Guided Sessions, I view and instruct clients in real time while they engage in some form of sexual activity they are interested in developing. I do not engage in sexual contact with clients nor with myself for free or for any form of compensation. I do not get on the bed with the client(s). I remain seated on the floor, sitting or my knees or standing periodically by the bed when a closer look is required before returning to the floor. This minimizes my presence as much as possible. Incidentally, I also do not arrange meetings of any kind between clients.

His current GF is a former client. But professionals and their clients (in all businesses) hook up all the time.
