Barcelona - Sauna Thermas - It only got better!

Enjoyed last Saturday at Thermas. It does not disappoint with clean facilities and large bar area. There were more than 50 rentboys there to service about 50 customers. I had lots of fun with Junior Carioca who advertises on several sites...very handsome, friendly and accommodating.

There is a sign in the foyer of Thermas in Spanish with an English translation to the effect of paying for sexual services prohibited. Management obviously does not lack a sense of humour.

Hahaha, yes and also escorting is legal in Spain. I joked about this to one of the escorts how the clients have to give the money in the upstairs bathroom and be a little sneaky about it, while it's perfectly okay to do so in Spain.

Did you have fun, by the way? Any guys that were memorable?

As I have written on this thread I don’t totally share the effusive enthusiasm for the place. It suffers by comparison with the Brazilian saunas. Having said that if I return to Barcelona I will return to Thermas. I’m off to São Paulo in 2 weeks. Lagoa here I come!

I went to Thermas about 8 times this month over a few weeks visit. Tried to hit every night of the week. There was no real difference among the nights.

It was generally awful for selection or for doing a few guys consecutively. There was 1 max 2 guys each time worth hiring. Otherwise, the dozen or so escorts were surprisingly unattractive and out of shape compared to my previous visits 2012-2016, and compared to Rio, Salvador Bahia, São Paulo, etc.

If it had not been for the few guys who appealed to me ... a stroke of luck that there was one each time (otherwise I'd have been flushing cash down the drain for the entrance) ... it would have been a total bust.

The VIP room (€15) was decent. Junior (mentioned), a newbie friend of his from Rio Grande do Sul state, and an in-demand stud from Paraguay were highlights and made the trip worth it.

The VIP room #1 is 15E an hour now? It was 10E.

Basic private with sheet and pillow. Price €9.60

Large private downstairs with silly fake prison bars in the corner and sling likely teeming with strep and staph; has larger bed. Price €15.00

VIP street level beside the lobby fountain with very large bed taking most of space, toilet and sink, fridge, etc €18.00 (I wrote 15.00 earlier ... error). Worth it over the 15.00 option.

I tried all 3 but prefer a longer session and the VIP. It really is comfortable and more mirror surround.

All rates per hour.

If you google and select images you can get partial pic of the 15.00 and 18.00

So they charge for any private cabin now?

Is the room #1 in the downstairs corner 15E instead of 10E now?

I guess they realized at hourly rates they make a lot off the rooms.

No, still plenty of free cabins that I believe are rarely tidied and cleaned, likely used for sleeping at times by escorts. One escort claimed 06:00 AM was a busy time after the clubs so I suspect some of them hang around. I believe the admission clock resets at 05:00 if the check-in previous day was prior to noon.

€9.60 gets you a sheet and pillow and maybe a bit nicer than free.

The room that is €15 is labelled B&D due to the bars and sling. I do not know if it is #1.

I think the VIP room #8 was formerly a pro massage room.

No evidence of a security guard as suggested had been added a year or so ago.

Another recent visit and still as good as ever. I like the turnover there, with the fact that there are still a few you recognise from last visit. Staff always very pleasant. Couple of new guys were quite pushy, but a firm ‘I’m okay thanks’ sends them away. Plenty of options to choose from.

Keep your wallet/ watch at home. Bring only the necessary amount of cash. Maybe buy a package of entry tickets if you are in BCN for a few days. Cruise every level before making your first choice, then repeat until you are sated. Enjoy and please report back!

You are absolutely correct about being careful with your money at the saunas. My first three days at the sauna money was stolen from my wallet which was locked in my locker. I was suspicious of the theft during the first day, but I was not sure how much money I had originally taken to the sauna. The same for the second visit. The third day I counted my money prior to entering the sauna and true enough, at the end of my visit, money was missing from my wallet. I never had this to happen during the years I visited the saunas in Brazil. Education comes in all forms and I learned to be cautious with my money at the saunas in Barcelona.

A disappointing feature of the saunas in Barcelona and Madrid is that NONE of the boys were Spanish! I enjoyed the boys from various countries but I would loved to have been with a guy from Spain :) After meeting so many wonderful guys from Brazil working in Spain, I decided to go to Brazil and never looked back. In the past 5 years my Spanish speaking has declined but I am now fluent in Portuguese.

Although it’s never happened to me I have read of thefts from lockers at Lagoa in São Paulo. I had an indirect experience. I was in the change room at Lagoa about 10 years ago preparing to leave when a Brazilian guy opened his locker and was running around the change room in a highly agitated state with his pants pointing to the empty pockets. I could not understand what he was saying as I do not speak the language. He then asked everyone the phone number of the police. That I did understand. As I was leaving he was outside on his phone presumably ringing the police. I came to the inescapable conclusion that he had been robbed. To repeat I have read a number of similar stories on websites over the years.

Bottom line? Where else (except in Brazilian saunas) can one find a collection of handsome and charming available men simple by exchanging a small sum of money?

I am planning Zurich for September/October. I will start posting in a Zurich thread for some recommendations, I've never been there but sounds amazing.

I have a Prague/Zurich tthread under Europe. Many of the guys are the same and plenty of info on Zurich.
