I typed in and clicked on San Francisco and received "much more" than desired. If one types in a particular city, he should receive only those men who advertise there. If I wanted Los Angeles, then I'd clicked on and typed in that particular city. This component at your site was ambiguous for me. I'd also be interested in precise size of a man's cock, not large or extra large or some such!

I would like the owners of the sites to ADVERTISE where the clients who would actually book could find them. The real clients mostly do not know the 3 big sites even exist so they turn to places like craigslist. The real clients are the married closeted guys who dont know rentboy or rentmen even exist............

Great idea. But trying to imagine (1) where to place such an ad -- WSJ? Sports Illustrated? Road & Track? and (2) how to word it! The ad men would have a field day.

I want the basics: The website needs to work in a reasonably simple way, and provide consistently accurate results. In other words, don't do what Rentboy does -- disappearing locations from the drop-down menu, null search results when you know there are 100 guys advertising in the area, etc.

The website looks good so far. I was thrilled to see that there was an escort listed < 3 feet from my location, and it wasn't me! Maybe I should look out my window.

 

From your survey, it looks like you are already anticipating one of the suggestions I was going to make: verification of profiles/photos. It seems like fake photos are one of the most common complaints I hear. Maybe a verification process like dudesnude where they send you a code and you have to take a face or body photo with the code written down in the photo, or something like that.

 

From an escort's perspective, the potential feature you've mentioned of being able to save a list of interested clients in a city would be useful. I'll often have people say "if you ever plan to visit ______________ let me know" and then when the time comes I either need to go through my email records, or would have needed to compile some kind of database list. So if there was a built-in seamless feature that did that for me it would be helpful.

That's how this married guy found them. In fact, I discovered M4RN before I even knew there were escort ads on craigslist. After a year or two of checking the sites and thinking about taking the leap, my first several hires all came from M4RN. Rentboy didn't have nearly as many ads in Dallas 5 years ago as it does today. I also hadn't discovered Daddy's Reviews, so I relied on the written M4RN reviews. Fortunately, after just one (bad) hire, those reviews led me to Romann, who led me here. It was many months after I started hiring (maybe even a full year) before I met my first guy from craigslist.

It looks good to me, but I have a question. When I put in my zip code and browse through what comes up, there are occasional out-of-town escorts that pop up. The listing says .6 miles from me (I'm in NYC) but on the escort's page it says Los Angeles or San Francisco. Does that mean that the escort is actually visiting NYC at the moment and is staying .6 miles from me? So the geographical identification on the escort's page is just his home base, not where he is actually located at the moment? And do the escort listings come up only if their cellphones are turned on, activating their GPS?

Rentboy and Adam4Adam (I think) allow you if you don't respond to a question, that section won't appear in the ad altogether.

 

GayRomeo went even further by removing the whole option. When I addressed the problem with the Management they responded this way:

 

"Dear Steven,

Thanks for your message but we never had the feature "safer sex" in escort profiles. Since they are commercial / business oriented profiles we assume that this option is not welcome in escort profiles. On the other hand the option is present in user profiles.

Anyway I understand your concern and a possible utility of having the option and I will forward your suggestion to the concerning department.

Well done. Things I'd like to change about the site:

 

• For some reason, when I view my "hot list" it tells me every escort is in London.

 

• The edit profile page says "Twitter, Facebook, personal pages. No escort sites." I'm not clear whether you mean I cannot link to my personal escort webpage (http://www.LaterSlater.com) or just not to my rentboy ad. I hope it's the latter.

 

• Lift the 600 character limit on profile text.

 

• Allow line breaks in the profile text.

 

• The formatting of the phone number (not allowing spaces or dashes) is visually displeasing. American are used to seeing 917 204 0101 not 19172040101.

 

• I'm not a fan of the $ in the logo. It's crass.

 

I like that for now it's free for escorts to list and clients to view. I assume at some point (presumably once you've hit a critical mass of escorts) you plan to monetize your investment. I hope you do this by charging escorts to list rather than the clients to view or by including obtrusive ads.

I agree. Forcing someone to enter a price when he'd rather not would just lead to bad data. Imagine the disappointment when the escort starts to hustle up-charge you because the form forced him to enter some base price.

Anyone else create an account and now having problems logging in? I've gone through the process to reset it three times now, to be told each time the new password is still no good.

 

I've also sent an email to their support address; we'll see if that functions any better.

Update: Rob emailed me back within the hour and we fixed the issue. Kudos on the quick customer service!
