Bingo! Great answer. I've been gratefully using Craigslist, BP and A4A for some years now and been somewhat lucky with hires from Grindr so far. I just take the anti-econolisting FUD spewed in this forum as general tribal resentment towards the non-pros, I just hope it all doesn't put off the more adventurous newbies from trying to hire via alternate media, takes a bit more trial and error but it's been worth it, They've provided me several rewarding long-term "virtual boyfriends".

Awesome advice Killian, I wish we could bring back a good escort bar or two here in LA, those were some fun times, instant chemistry test!

Aaahhh...fond memories of "The Numbers" perhaps. Used to think those were the 'good ol days' but now I'm not so sure. It took awhile to teach this old cowboy some new tricks, and now I'm not so sure I would want to go back to how things were then. You are right though, "those were some fun times".....

I'd rather bringing a bunny ranch for gay men in Vegas, it's time for a legal gay brothel like there all over Europe.

the bunny ranch's owner is dennis hoff. and if you do a little research, you'll see how pricey those broads are. they charge and make A LOT of money

with so much of this convo talking about discounting prostitutes as much as possible, I don't see many here spending that kind of coin on a male brothel in NV. dont you think that Hoff has already run the numbers to see if that m4m expansion would work?

Is that your best argument on the subject?

Last time I checked personal attacks against members were not allowed in this Forum.[/color]

You logical fallacy is: ad hominem

You attacked your opponent's character or personal traits in an attempt to undermine their argument.

Ad hominem attacks can take the form of overtly attacking somebody, or more subtly casting doubt on their character or personal attributes as a way to discredit their argument. The result of an ad hom attack can be to undermine someone's case without actually having to engage with it.

Oh Noooooooooooooooooooo. I've been schooled.

I wouldn't want to find an escort off of Grindr or Scruff only because the general level of people on these apps leaves much to be desired. If I wanted to communicate with a barrage of pics and one words answers, I'd schedule a porn photo shoot.

I've actually had a great deal of luck with Craigslist; indeed, one of my favorite escort experiences was from a Craigslist hire. I'm not always looking for the satisfying pop of a Dom Perignon experience. Sometimes I prefer to just sip on a Guinness with great head. ;) I also don't see why champagne should be concerned about where and how beer is served or vice versa. You'd never serve them at the same meal anyway.

That's cool. Its a free country people can do what they like. Some choose to listen to grade A escorts on where to find the best, others choose to use free apps where there is no verification. No judgments and happy hunting boys.

Let's not forget that every "well reviewed" and "well known" and "Grade A" escort on here and on Rentboy was once a nobody with no verification and no reviews and no nothing. They started somewhere because some guy took a chance and hired them. They performed and got good reviews and now they're one of the "Grade A" guys. If the attitude that has been expressed here by some had been in full force when some of you started ... none of you would have ever been hired and none would have the careers you have today.

Some of what has been said here is valid and makes sense but there's also a whiff of the "now that I've made it, let's pull the ladder up and let no one else in but us."

I'm not trying to be argumentative. I just think that it's because of guys like me and others who gave unknowns a chance that enabled them to be so successful today. Why shouldn't we continue to do that and let some more unknowns have a shot at what the "well reviewed" guys have?

I'm just sayin'.

Could not agree more and it's more then a whiff. Well reviewed means very little unless you personally know the reviewer and even then sometimes you just don't click when someone else does with the same escort. It hurts a lot less when the money paid is more reasonable.

Also hiring from a site like rent boy etc means nothing . They do nothing to verify the photos , they are just a money machine.

Grindr APP

is there any way I can join/log into GRINDR on my home mac and keep it off my phone?

Good question... Currently, Grindr is only available as an APP used on smart phones. It's a free APP, unless you want to upgrade to their Xtra. It's been around for 4 years, has over 4 million members, and is in 192 countries. I've attached a link with more information.

In addition to Grindr, there's Mister and Scruff. Two other APP's useful in finding men.

Killian, I think you're HOT but I think you're totally wrong on this point :-)

First, its a dream that escorts on rent boy or Daddy's are "Grade A" implying the rest are not. WRONG. I can't tell you how many disappointments I've had with guys advertising on Rentboy. Second, many rent boy guys have messaged me on Grindr, so when they do that, are they no longer Grade A? Third, many guys on Grindr are horny and if they decide they want to hookup and get some cash extra, they can be more "in the mood" and excited versus providing simply entertainment or theater.

These distinctions IMHO are imaginary and not based in any reality. They serve more to protect the economic interests of the rent boy crowd than anything else.

Grindr (and similar social media apps) are a fast moving train. Rentboys putting their hands out to stop it (like Draker, etc.) will simply get run over.

Now, Killian, how about I call you and hire you so we can discuss over a few hours? :-)

We should probably move this to the technical forum, and I've never done it, but I know there's a free developer's kit for

IOS applications which runs on the mac, and as part of that, there might be a IOS device emulator (I think there used to be).

Probably takes horrendous amount of disk space ... any other techies here know, off hand?

steven isn't trying to stop grinder. hes trying to stop folks here from making wrong assumptions about what it's for. fancy getting banned? go for it

if KJ is smart and I don't doubt he is, he will for go putting himself on the slop train of escort advertising

I think this happened when he fell.

What crawled up Draker's butt and died?

I officially vote this the statement of the year!

I'd rather paying more knowing it's legal and taxed. Btw I watch his show and I get the feeling he might have started because of the money but now he does it just to be a godly figure and have all the women he wants.

I wonder if one of the many self-proclaimed CEO's and Bankers on here would consider starting that business, maybe infamous Michael Lucas will do it one day, he could be a good Madame.

This thread has been a real hoot. I missed it until I saw Steven shouting "troll" again, so I took a look and the fun began. Why Steven wants to be the scourge of the message board, I don't know, but no one hollers "troll" like he does.

Grindr is no threat to any serious escort, unless you are losing business and want those guys in your bed. Guys have always found each other, for centuries now. Street hustling may be in the past, but, Killian, it seems that gay bars are going that way too. It's all good. Something new comes along, and if people don't like it, it goes away. Scruffs away, if you will. Men will still be finding men.

You will never see me advertising on Grindr. Sorry it just does not fit my brand, nor will you ever see me priced at less than $250/hr in the near future. No amount of convincing will sway me.

...and that's the point. It's definitely not your brand. Sometimes it's nice to plan fine dining at a top-rated restaurant, but sometimes getting a hot dog (so to speak) from a street vendor can be very satisfying. And other times you're gonna regret it.

And lest the restaurant get too taken with itself, sometimes fine dining isn't all its cracked up to be.

My answer: Get out from behind your phones. You can't feel someone's energy from behind the screen of an I-phone. Get back into the clubs, bars, sex clubs or however you USED to meet guys, before all this crap was invented.

Excellent summary by Killian James.

Yes, and occasionally I go to the most touted restaurant in town and pay $200 plus wine and tip and end up with wishing I had gone to McDonald's instead.
