And one of the best years of my life will come to a close. What's your favorite thing or things that you did in 2013?

1) I made some excellent friends.

2) I finally took a cruise.

3) I traveled more in a year than all my previous years combined.

Do tell.

OK...

1.I officially retired.

2.The hound and I moved 3,000 miles to a place I had only dared to dream about.

3.Met some wonderful and incredible new friends up in Wilton Manors

4.Settled in to live the second half of my life, peacefully and quietly...... OK, maybe not so peacefully and quietly, but you get where I'm going with this...;)

This was one of the worst years of my life ... and, and the same time, it was one of the best years of my life.

It was one of the worst in that I came within just a few days of dying from an infection: had I waited just a couple days longer before going to the hospital, that would have been "all she wrote."

And that makes it one of the best years of my life ... I recovered, discovered a new lease on life, put myself back on a weight loss and fitness regimen, have lost 85 pounds, and am feeling better than I've felt in 20 years. I still have a lot of weight to lose and fitness to rebuild, but I'm "on the way," as it were.

Good for you, Davidddd49!

This has been a very up-and-down year for me, but the "up" has really picked up speed in the last few months.

All told, as Tori Amos sang, a pretty good year. Nah...awesome, really. :)

I went there this year. Going back in summer to do some more diving, hopefully.

I remember that trip. You had a terrific time. Well sir...then please give me a heads-up next time you are in Lauderdale, and who knows, we might end up in Wilton Manors for a little.....;)

Congratulations on the incredible bounce-back.

2013 was the year I climbed out of a five-year real estate hole, at least paying off the mortgage on a so-far unsellable condo. That's been the biggest event.

2013 has been a good year in general, and my elderly parents made it through another year.

It's also the year I got to meet and hire Nate Bruno. That was cool and a long time coming. I also did a lot of organizing, cleaning up, throwing out this year. Finally, I got on a good walking/hiking kick in the spring and got back into some light weights just in the past month. So a good year for some modest self-improvement.

1. Did a huge amount of sightseeing in cities I'd lived in but never explored like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Palm Springs.

2. Met a number of fantastic guys along the way and found some of the best bakeries in the country (didn't gain an ounce though)

3. Also along the way, became a master at getting great deals from Priceline and Southwest (made it all the way to A-List Preferred)

4. Finally am comfortable with smartphones and texting!

I had more sex in 2013 than I'd had in the prior ten years combined. 2013 was really an awakening for me sexually as I finally found myself being a sexual person. I still have a lot to learn, but I feel like I made steps in the right direction and feel a little bit better about myself. I can thank a few of the men who post on this board for helping with that (including the thread starter ;)

2013 has been a great year for me. For one, I've met a couple of truly incredible people who will be friends for many years to come.

Personally, I've gotten in the best shape of my life. I'm finding that I really love being a daddy, bordering on muscle daddy. It's really something to get hit on by guys young enough to be my son.

I've got my body fat down to 11.8% and I know I look better than I have, maybe in ever. And I'm going for even lower. My trainer and I have worked to help my movement and flexibility so physically, it's the best I've ever been.

I got to experience the wedding of my personal trainer to his bride, something I've been hoping for years. And like me, his wife (and my partner) are way above our class, so we are both very lucky guys.

My partner and I somehow keep falling more and more in love all the time. Going on 3 years, still barely anything you'd call a disagreement, let alone a fight. I've met the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with, I have no doubt about that.

And from the looks of it, I'm going to have the biggest DC luncheon ever. Which is driving me a bit loco at times, but well worth it.

All in all, 2013 is certainly a year to remember. Each year since I came out has been better than the last. So I can't even imagine how great 2014 is going to be, but I know it will be incredible.

Hey - LBT - great for you. I'm envious…of all of it.

Since the DC luncheon is going to be the biggest AND most successful of all - how about a video for all of us who cannot come (sic) so we can satisfy our voyeuristic (another good word) urges and still participate?! That way we all know that 2014 will be the best.

Always fun,

The most memorable thing that happened to me was that my partner and I got married. After living together for so many years, I didn't think it would make much difference, but in a strange way it has made me feel more committed to making the relationship work than I used to be. After all, now I can't fantasize about walking out when I get really frustrated with him.

1. I met Chris Eisenhower.

2. I met Dane Michaels.

3. With their help and support, much hard work, and great medical care, I've lost 1/2 of my body weight.

It's been an amazing year, and 2014 promises even more surprises!

Posted

1. Traveling through Canada with Mike Cruise

2. Being introduced to Citibiking by Kevin Slater; such an enjoyable way to get around!

And the changes I've seen in the time that I've known you are amazing. And I can't wait to see where you will be this time next year. BTW, thanks for lunch! :)

The only problem with videos (and pictures) is that there are guys (clients and escorts alike) who don't want their faces shown. For a variety of reasons. And we will respect that. I would expect that there will be some pictures among friends but only of those willing and knowing that the pictures are being taken. No unannounced candids. We absolutely must respect everyone's privacy. That is paramount and the first and most solid rule for all forum get togethers.

Posted

I know, understand, and respect that. Just having a sigh at my own expense since I'm not able to make this year's gathering!

And I commend you for arranging, coordinating, orchestrating, and wrangling all the guys (and gals) in one place. Imagine that - an escort/client-wrangler!
