I had a situation last year when I was in Amsterdam. My friend worked at The Blue Boy Club and was coming back to San Francisco with me. When we got on the plane for the flight from Amsterdam to London, my friend started to talking to a gentleman sitting behind us. Turns out, he was his last client the night before. Surprise Encounters do worry me a little, because I often don't use my real name with escorts, so if one saw me someplace and called me by that name, no matter how discrete they were with the conversation otherwise, it could be pretty awkward if overheard by a coworker or whatnot.

It's a pejorative word in English and I don't use it. Like the "n"-word among African-Americans, it's one thing if a member of the group uses it about another member of the group. It has an entirely different and ugly connotation when used by an outsider.

 

Although it may be illegal in many countries, I don't believe sex work is immoral, so I don't think of sex workers, as a class, pejoratively and I don't refer to them that way. "Escort" is a neutral word and more reflective of what a good sex worker provides, including companionship. The old word "whore" implies performance of a sex act only, with not much else involved in the transaction. I expect a lot more from a sex worker who's a professional at what he does.

Well some of us are only paying for sex not companionship. I guess that's why the old word still works for us. I do distinguish though between an escort and a hustler, but both are still whores nonetheless. Tell the truth, do you never call an escort a whore or a bitch when you are on top of them of fucking them from behind? And do they never call themselves that when they are in that position? Just this weekend while fucking an escort, I asked how he felt, and he replied "I feel like a fucking slut!" I said "is that a good feeling?" He replied that "it was a great feeling!"

My surprise encounter was in reverse. I hired a guy without a face pic, and he turned out to be a temp who worked for a while at the same company that I did (which I had since left).
