I guess now that certain people cannot attack on this site with impunity, they have taken to creating 45 day only accounts on America On Line for the simple purpose of creating problems for people like me. It was not enough to agree to disagree, to make negative and derogatory comments; now they find it necessary to find things to attack about me on line in an attempt to interfere with my professional career.

This is not sour grapes on my part. I am simply pointing out for the clients and fans of this site some of the day to day bull shit and asinine material that any escort can confront in their day to day existence.

This has had minimal impact on my business and has had minimal impact on my regular or prospective clients. Most find it mildly amusing at best or absurd and a waste of time at worst. The most frequent comment is: "Do people really have this much free time on their hands?"

To this end, this is my current main profile:

Location: West Hollywood / Los Angeles * frequently travel, inquire about my location in an e-mail.

Hobbies & Interests: Men who have more important things to do with their time and who value quality professionals.

Occupation: A perfectly legal and valid one for the State of California, County of Los Angeles, City of West Hollywood and the United States

Personal Quote: AOL deletes profiles without providing a rationale simply because some it's members are bitter, angry, jaded unhappy queens with too much time on their hands. If you want to hear more, please send me an e-mail and ask.

Thank you! Have a great day!

You are a real asset to this site. I enjoy you postings a lot.

But.....

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Furthermore, I believed that dealing with on line jerks were one of the factors built into an escort's prices.

Correct me, if I am wrong.

>I have no idea what you are talking about.

I second that. If you're going to create a whole thread to complain about someone's behavior you might at least have the courtesy to include enough information to allow readers to understand what that behavior is. Otherwise you're just talking to yourself.

Please, guys, it must be hotter where y'all are today, because I'm following it better than you are and we all know the heat (and the allergies - admit it, Bilbo!) make my mind half hibernate in the summer.

Evidently, someone joined aol with a short time account and then complained to aol about Franco's profile and aol deleted his account but he was able to put out the "fire" with it only doing mnor damage to him business wise.

That's what it sounded like to me too.

You know, I've been hearing EXACTLY this complaint about AOL since they were a startup 20 years ago in Northern Virginia. It amazed me then, and it continues to do so, that they have any customer base at all.

The same few cranks who run rampant on AOL occasionally try to disrupt this site as well, but they're usually obvious enough Daddy can cut them off.

Hey Franco,

Where you TOS'd or was your profile simply deleted. I was messing with my AOL account on Mon. & Tues., both days, my profile was deleted but no profiles were available at all so I think they had one of their gliches(usually on Fri. night & all Sun. LOL)

My favorite AOL escort profile of the moment: " Don't ask for several pix first! I trade because I know all your going to do is jack off to mine. I don't get payed for that"--an actual Georgia escort listing

And he'll be highkicking his ass down Ponce too in the Pride parade this weekend,:0)

Why would anyone have AOL with so many other options available? Aren't they scrambling now to provide broadband access and as such their customer base is dwindling? Maybe their stock will drop enough that the little kingpin Snyder will lose enough money that he has to sell the Redskins!!!

I wonder if FDS's assailant slithered over from this site to AOL? :)

That's been Hooboy's mantra for many years.

AOL does have its uses. The chat rooms & profiles are often proffered as "unique benefits" of an AOL account.

But as a primary ISP? No way!

They are moving to offer broadband, but so is everyone else. I'm using SBC/Yahoo DSL at home. The cable company in my area is in the middle of rewiring to provide broadband. Any broadband access comes with email and a free website.

So why use AOL? It's simple. They have critical mass. Everyone (except me ;-)) is there, so everyone goes there. It's "Internet for Dummies", and the kicker is that 90% of AOL's customers DON'T KNOW they're using the internet!

They've done a fabulous job of branding.

Okay, so why didn't he simply say that?

That's a good question. Franco is usually more informative than that. I noticed that he has posted since this so he doesn't seem interested in enlightening us here.

Perhaps I was wrong there...it was a response to a thread of his I saw, not a new post from him. Us aninmals sometimes jump at the quarry quickly.

AOL is on the prowl:0)

Well, I spoke too soon...

I received a warning today from AOL's new automated TOS system for the phrases,"M4M Consultant/Companion" & "for your consideration" lol I've taken those out.

I think they are performing a broad sweep so I guess I was further down the list.

Now, when are they going to take care of all those "See Sex With Sheep" spam emails?

I'm fairly unlettered when it comes to the Internet and I have been with AOL since day one. The reason for this is that I travel a lot and I can plug my laptop into any phone line in North America and be on-line with my AOL access. If I had a cable access with a local cable company, how would I hook up if I found myself out of their area? Maybe there's a simpla answer but if so no-one's told me.

The offending words in my profile were, actually "escort" as in "I have excellent client references of Male 4 Male Escort Reviews, please write to me for that and other links."

The people who monitor these "offences" for AOL are generally volunteers, not employees of the company. The company does not have the resources (i.e. money) it would take to actually do something simple like a member directory search for the word "escort" (which will come up on the profile for many women and for straight men who only escort women) and "TOS" all those members. For one thing, it would actually piss off a lot of people.

What AOL does is act on specific complaints. Often these complaints are by a disgruntled person and not someone, such as a parent, who is actually concerned about being exposed to something objectionable or their children being exposed to same. As has been pointed out on the prior version of the MC and elsewhere, AOL allows hate speech type comments (for example, a member named HUNG STUD putting "I am for women only, no fags") so one time, several years back, I and a number of friends of mine reported all such hate speech type profiles to AOL that we could find. Between four people without spending much time and effort over a weekend, we uncovered over 300 instances of the word FAG alone.

In my instance, I iknow it is someone who has specifically marked me because there have been other instances. I also am very certain it is someone from this site, partially because they can no longer be hatefull here with impunity, particularly with mass mailings to all posters, as have happened in the past. Why do I believe this? Because certain things have come up over the last two years.

For example, one individual likes to asks questions about escorts who want to be viewed as professionals when they get paid to "rim" or "eat out" a client's ass. Coincidentally, this was something that was said elsewhere on this site in an attack on me. As we all know, a number of people here hide beyond more than one alias and have created serial aliases whcih they move on to.

For whatever reason, I am a target. They have also targeted other escorts on this site, and other escorts on this site have been targeted by others on here, for a number of reasons, some which any of us may find valid and some which any number of us may not. Examples of this include Escort A should have done this in that situation or words to that effect.

As I have written Hoo Boy on several occassions, I am a very big boy (and as my attackers often like to point out, a very "old" one) and nothing I have seen or heard here or on AOL really impacts me. However, I use AOL because it is a very good forum for me to reach out to my client base, many of whom are straight and bisexual men who would not be comfortable going to Rent Boy, American Male, Male Prime, Erados (as I have been approached on AOL by men from other countries) as well as men who are not very comfortable with or experienced with hiring.

In this particular instance, I posted this in part because I wanted to give the client members of this site an idea of what escorts go through and an example of the extremes that some people get to with their unwarrented and needless attacks, which they engage in behind the mask of a screen name, identity or character which may or may not (and rarely does) have any resemblence to who these men are in real life.

While escort may use stage names and ages, it is impossible for an escort to carry on a facade for very long.

Actually, AOL does have the resources to do that sort of thing and does actually do it periodically.

They do that as well.

I don't know what you mean by "disgruntled." You can't have been in the U.S. for very long without realizing that there are an awful lot of people here who don't approve of prostitution, gay or otherwise. Are those people the "disgruntled"?

>As has been pointed out on the prior version of the MC

Actually, I know of specific AOL members who have been TOS'ed for violating the rule against hate speech on the AOL message boards. I know of one who was banned from the boards for a month for referring to Muslims as "towelheads" when another member complained. So it's not accurate to say that AOL allows hate speech. It's just that enforcement there, as in the real world, is uneven.

Thanks for the info. The only part you left out is the part about how you signed an agreement with AOL promising not to use their system for illegal transactions of the type for which you are in fact using it. If you're going to violate the rules you promised to honor you shouldn't really complain if they take it badly and react.
