So I had tonight off, got tired of watching a DVD, wasn't in the mood to be productive and so I put up a pretty routine vanilla ad on Craigslist looking to give and/or get a BJ. I was pretty half-hearted about it.

No, not recently. I use to to it often in my early twenties when I didn't have my own place. It was a lot of fun and thrilling. But now that I'm older, for myself, I find the risk much greater than the reward.

I've never had car sex. I've come close a couple times, groping on the way home with a guy I met at the bar, and sitting in a car outside a gay bar with a new friend who really wanted to, but that's the extent of it.

I'm with you. When I was young and didn't have other options, I sometimes had sex in a car (sometimes even with the driver or while I was driving, though I don't recommend that for safety reasons!), sometimes had sex in public parks, and sometimes had sex in public buildings. And I'm not talking about having sex with someone I just met; I'd have to go somewhere to have sex with my boyfriend if there were other people in both of our residences.

 

While there was a certain excitement that went along with having sex in public (and I do have a few exciting/scary stories I could tell), I agree that the risk is too great for me to consider taking now. At least back then, you might get charged with public indecency but you wouldn't become a registered sex offender for life.

I don't follow: Why would two adults being caught in car sex be forced to register as sex offenders? That's when one person is an adult and the other is under the age of consent.

It's Atlanta. The cops will catch two gay men having sex in "public" and throw some crap in there about endangerment if minors and poof...you're registering as a sex offender.
